Film is still the only good way to do what you did with the man(you?) putting down the box and the critter in the box moving around. Today, if you videotaped a man putting a box down, and then gave way to still, stop-motion images, you can see the difference due to the way digital and/or videotape captures live-action movements - it goes all blurry. And then with crisp, still images for stop-motion, there is too much of a difference for it to be convincing. Film rocks!
Thanks I started filming that film with my friend Jim on Thanksgiving day 1980. It took about two weeks from start to finish, no story just a test. It was the first thing that I did that actually looked OK.
