if you have a floating tremelo system then a full head stock is not neaded due to the locking nut though there is a tuning aperratus that is not visible from this pov

It's awesome you're using music terms. Good foundation, and over-arching informational structure. Minor quip: the root is the bass, except when in a chord in inversion. In this case, the 'finishing' of the scale is the *octave*. (This implies transposition and more importantly pitch classes.)

As for the harmonic minor/phrygian being dark: that's because 70s/80s americans were in the same boat as 'Classical' (17th century) Europe.
