well i'm about to show how much i know about this but how come the boat didn't pull away from you since you weren't holding a rope or anything?

@SunFlightx Wakesurfing (similar to but not the same sport as wakeboarding) is a water sport in which a surfer trails behind a wakeboard boat, surfing the boat's wake without being directly attached to the boat.[1] The wake from the boat mimics the look and feel of an actual ocean wave. After getting up on the wave by use of a tow rope, wakesurfers drop the rope and ride the steep face below the wave's peak in a fashion reminiscent of ocean surfing.

@onmyway2heaven Thanks, I love my Malibu!!! I didn't really have the boat weighted much in this video... but on a normal riding basis, the wakesurf setup goes like this: we fill the front and center factory ballasts, and the rear ballast on whichever side we're surfing on. In addition, we fill a 750lb after market fat sac in the rear compartment on the side we're surfing on. We decided not to plumb in the red fat sac that you see in the bow of the boat on the video (see next comment...)

@onmyway2heaven ...so that we can move it around the boat as necessary. Sometimes it stays in the front and sometimes we put it in the rear of the boat on the seats on whichever side we're using. We fully deploy the wedge, then knock it back up two nothces from the bottom. The speed is usually about 9.8, but sometimes playing with that can help perfect the wake as well... we always stay between about 9.6 and 10.4. The wake is unbelievable. This video doesn't do it justice, actually.

And I got only center and rear factory ballasts, so if I had front factory how much do they hold?(so I could get a sac to match them). I have 2 750lb sacs and some lead, I will try the set up you suggested. We set the power wedge like you suggested too. Thanks man.

@onmyway2heaven 250lb factory hard tank, 650lb bow ballast...We move it anywhere on the boat depending on what we are doing. Everything is plumbed into factory pumps except the 650..

@scblacky You sound like a teenager who confuses confidence with stupidity. The fact that it CAN be done, doesn't mean it should be done. It takes very little skill to boat start and boat finish on a wakesurf. There are nearly endless things that could go wrong in this situation that could cause him to fall. A runaway boat can kill people.

If you truly had no one in that boat and you didn't have a fail safe mechanism like attaching the lanyard to yourself or putting the boat on a timer, you're truly an idiot. You might not care if your boat crashes (might be wealthy) and you might think there is no one around, but it might run someone over on the other shore or slam into someone else's possessions. obviously your pretty good on that bored and confident, and that is pretty gutsy and sick, but have you really thought about the consequences? say you do bail, cause even pros do, then ure stuck in the middle of the lake, and your boat heading out till it crashes... in all honesty i dont think the risk is worth the reward. especially if you hurt or kill somebody... Just my 2 cents, killer boat

@Dyllon17 Thanks for the comment, I think it was a combination of most of your scenarios.. Alot of 1,2, and 3. I could never do it again, someone sent this to my insurance agent and I was dropped without question. Boat is paid for and I lost a high paying job as a Financial Advisor. An X-star is an awesome boat, I def would recommend using that boat. Not real sure what you mean about the wide curve inward? Boat traveled pretty straight on line that i left it, there wasn't a lot of weight
