I just remembered this again after my wife bought a spinning wheel. Beautiful song. The original version is so much better than the more modern interpretations, but that's usually the case with everything.

at last after 50 odd years i have herd it again. i used to hear this in the late 40's. i was about 6 then and it stuck in my head all this time .i thought it was kathline ferrier that sang it and tried to find her record of it. thanks for posting this song it gives me great pleasure to hear it again after all this time
