I think Sid was just trying to be civil with not just the American fans, but also the players on the ice as well. The participants of the game participated in the greatest hockey spectacle to date. The American silver medallists were 2 days fresh from a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of Crosby. My American friends also told me that the American audience of 10 million strong was comparing the game to Miracle on Ice. Kudos to Sid for handling it well, on top of the crowd booing Canada's win
regarless of whether they were booing the goal or Sid himself, it was wrong. That goal was the greatest individual achievement of his life thus far. Can you imagine how he felt being booed in his own house?
like seriously booing is not necessary. i can see why miller got a loud applause but seriously they should of showed more prespect for the captain sidney.
I didn't mean for my comment to come across as Americans in general were unclassy. Im MY opinion I think it lacks respect to boo. You're right, the bashing goes both ways. Believe me though, if the roles were reversed and the US won, I wouldn't boo Miller. Why would I? He's an amazing goalie and the entire team deserves respect. Sorry if I offended anyone. I hope your opinion of Canada isn't that we're a bunch of tools. :)
Apparently you didn't watch the Olympics. Every team the Americans played, they'd cheer for and boo'd the Americans any time they committed a penalty or scored. Totally classless
@GhostWalker40 I think you would do the same for your country. If you didn't notice Canadians cheered for USA receiving the silver medal just as loud as the screamed for Canada wining the gold medal. I was there so I would know.
@GhostWalker40 I think Canada and America have both had momments where they showed poor "class". Don't be judging the country becasue of it. And that goes both ways, I know. So Chill, it was just getting caught up in the games.
@PR0UDCANADIAN87 The entire world thought that Canada was totally classless for every sport, not just hockey. I'm sorry but Canada should never get the Olympics ever again because if it
@GhostWalker40 When a country hosts the olympics, no matter what country it is, the people who are there are obviously going to consist of people from that country, and that is going to mean more people screaming (Cheering and Booing) for the country that is hosting it. It was like that for every Olympics, not just the one in Vancouver. And how were we classless for every sport? I don't know what you were watching but that was not the case? Hockey was the only time they booed
@GhostWalker40 maybe if u watched the awards u would of seen that canada cheered for america as they got their medal they didnt boo. ofcourse they would boo in the game everyone does it.
Penguins fans booing their beloved captain? For fuck sakes. Shame on them. This is why I hate Pens fans.

They were booing Canada winning the goal. They are Amercian, what do you expect?
GhostWalker40 2 years ago
Booing? Seriously? I don't care if they were booing Team Canada or Sid, have some class.

Yeah, like Canada booed America throughout the games, don't bring up class when it comes to Canada, seriously
