  • D'oh!

  • sue owned that piece. she really knew what she was doing. that was great!

  • Perkins put me to sleep. How she beat Goldie, millions of viewers will never know.

  • Goldie should have won this. Perkins was no comparison.

  • no baton?

  • SUE PERKINS you're my idol!!!!

  • I kept laughing at this, because I couldn't help imaging Sue facing the other way, which would then make it look as if she were doing a groovy dance to it. She did fantastically well.

  • I love Sue Perkins SO MUCH!! She makes me want to be a woman so she may find me attractive! But she's also a great conductor, but she needs to find a way of counting that isn't 1,1,1,1. She needs to tray and be a bit more 1,2,3,4, or 1,2,3, or whatever.

  • Now, this gal knows a bit about directing -- making awesome eye contact, expression, tiny movements to bring in small bits here and there, timing was impeccable -- having played the clarinet for many years, I would definitely enjoy creating music under her direction!

  • I have never understood why a meat metronome is heaped such inordinate undeserved praise as that of an orchestra conductor.

A good orchestra could EASILY play the music without a conductor, yet this vastly over-rated position is lionized by the same pathetically ignorant wankers who buy oxygen free cables for $10,000 to make their CDs "sound vastly superior", and who subscribe to the fraud that is homeopathy...

  • The may be a few simple pieces that you could play without a conductor- possibly with a small ensemble, but those are greatly outweighed by pieces where the parts need a good conductor for their entrances, phrasing, and generally to know the beat! It is incredibly difficult if you have a rest and the time signiture changes to know when to come in again. You can't have each section justs doing their own thing! You have to have some to control!

  • yes an orchestra can play by themselves but a conductor is nearly a symbol a physical embodyment but pieces like rite of spring of any debussy pieces need a conductor(by the way im the worlds youngest music director im 13 music director of the terre haute symphony orchestra

  • why was sue perkins struck by lightning?

    because she's a good conductor!

  • She was brilliant in this! Obviously it helped that she's the funniest person in the world, I'm so glad she won!

  • Well, you could always try not watching things you clearly don't like.

  • Thank you for that hugely articulate response and Im sorry to have bothered that stick up your arse.

Im fairly sure you could have grasped the fact that you didnt like it soon enough to stop watching part way through. Anyway, each to their own; music is a matter of perspective and I certainly dont think this was, as you so eloquently put it, shit.

  • thats harsh

  • Well hasn't she got to earn money to pay for a mortage like everyone else?

    x

  • You can't justify something just because she has a mortgage. Many people have to par rent and do more constructive things

  • I totally understand that, But how can you justify calling someone you don't know a 'media ho?' Believe me she isn't one. Maybe TV is all she can do, and she can't help that, can she?

It's a job at the end of the day, and we all have to make a living.

    x

  • if you could make a living enjoying your life and doing things you'd never thought you'd get a chance to do would you?

  • oh god she is just so comical...and such a bueaty

  • OMG! She's good. She needs people screaming when she comes home with flowers thrown at her. :D

  • ridicolus.Anyway the ritmo always is 4/4

  • lol she's fun

  • wow calling the simpsons a "classical repertoire"

i wanna smack him in the face

  • it's a very funny show :)

  • she deserves a standing ovation, bouqets, people screaming and much more enthusiatic clapping and whistling.

  • Sue is lovely.

  • Thank you for watching!

  • I love this woman x

  • Absolutely fantastic! Soo glad she won, she really was amazing! Although I do think that Goldie was brilliant considering he can't read music!

I assume that orchestra had to learn this, its not something they are used to play it surely!

  • Ive got a high def option posted its in video responses, theres an mp3 download link to, btw im not trying to steal your viewers "urregoluis" just trying to help everyone ;)

  • she is just great, glad she won too

  • What character, and what talent! What she + Goldie achieved on the series was almost miraculous- exceptional people both.

  • Ahh you've got to love Sue Perkins, she looked like she was really enjoying herself!

  • You can have whatever views you like about reality TV, but that face that Sue is a lesbian has nothing to do with it, so keep your homophobic attitude to yourself because it certainly isn't welcome here.

  • @spiffyacey: Hear hear - and indeed, where would the Arts or television entertainment even be without our gay brethren...? In a very sad and flat place, I believe.

  • How brill was she!

  • I wan her babies!

  • I LOVE the way she looks at the orchestra, she's having a ball! :D ahhw I'm SO glad she won!! Xxx

  • That is a really tasteless comment. I understand what you're saying about reality shows, but what does the fact that Sue is a lesbian have to do with anything at all?

You are clearly a nasty, dimwitted and homophobic waste of space. Either pick up a book and learn to be a human being or go play on the motorway.

Your choice...but I wish you'd choose the latter.

  • If you didn't act like such a twat then I wouldn't have to have an opinion of you.

Funnily enough, I don't need to play on facebook. I actually have a life you see, with *real* friends. Again though, I would say don't waste your time trying to make friends seeming as you must have so many virtual ones; you really would be better off playing on the motorway.

That means without a car btw.

  • I love her most!

  • you really are a lovely individual, aren't you?

  • Sue is by far my fave! She rocks :D

  • She's very good in terms of expression and communicating her moods with the orchestra; she's also very animated which is good! :D. I'm training to be a conductor myself and watching this show is a real inspiration; I learn a lot from it.

  • i love sue perkins i want her to win

  • Aah, I loved her with Blue Danube and now this! I'm not disappointed to say the least. Thank you for putting it up, because otherwise I couldn't see it where I am. (I was on holidays in London last week, so I saw the first part there.)

  • Love Sue, she's ruling the competition! I thought she might, she seems like the type who's good at everything

thanks for uploading even if the quality's not great

did anyone catch her little comment at 5.04? when the female blonde judge was telling her she has too much tension and will not be able to cope with a piece much longer so she should try "Tai Chi, zen meditation, rose petal baths, I don't care!"

Sue Perkins: Is that an offer or a suggestion?

    brilliant!!

  • i no, she's so funny...i was the only 1 in my family who got that-nd oh the looks i got as i giggled away in the corner! lol
