  • For the boost guardian on hard it took me about 50 tries before i finally killed it. i was getting so pissed off. when i bet it i said HELL YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • dark space have reapers that destroy all sentient life in galaxy this music tells me that they are returning

  • God, I hated going to the Dark World in this game. AND THIS MUSIC WASN'T HELPING!!

  • BOOST GUARDIAN ON HARD MODE=IMPOSSIBLE!

  • @IvoryGecko1993 lol boost guardian took me 3 tries on hard mode... not very hard at all...

  • this music reminds me about in mass effect reapers when they are in dark space

  • I don't think I've ever killed more than 10 Hunter Ing in my 5+ years of playing MP2. I always run from them because they're always pulling the 'Intangible' card on me >.>

    Me: MISSLE!

Hunter Ing: NOPE, I'm a ghost, see? *Fades*

    Me: >.<

  • @Galifay I can't kill them unless they're next to a beacon, AKA never.

  • @Galifay

If you used the Dark Visor you can see that they have an aura around them that goes in and out. When the aura is up the Hunter Ing won't dodge your attacks.

Seriously, the dark visor does so many things that people overlook. Like how it also completely removes shadows and makes everything evenly lit.

  • this music hear when is night and stormy and rainy and thunder and i see zombies walking in streets

  • @190shepard Number 1: That little discription freaked the hell out of me

number 2: I like when I read these comments and see that people really use their imagination to make another world. I wish more people (mainly adults; I am one too) would do this.

  • Dark thorvus bogs was creepy, the dark grenchleys where creepiers... but when I was just below the grapple guardian... hearing his hard footsteps... bomm..BOOM.. bomm.. I had my dose for the day..

  • Thank godI got away from that fish. Now I'm saf-O GOD DARK FISH! DARK FIIISH!

  • Ceiling pirate is watching you sleep

  • BLAAARGH i fell into the dark water my first time playing and died X_X

  • Oh well, I didn't plan on sleeping tonight anyway.

  • This is what Yoda has been warning us about.... the dark side. U.U

  • dark tourvus bog: a dark and shadowy evil twin of a butiful forest full of life. with venomous waters and dead or dying trees, the dark bog is full of death and dispare. with ingspheres and dark phlogi being the only things alive (along with the hunter ing and dark preed),it is realy a sad place. and the under temple is home to dark grinchelrs(i have no idea how to spell those amphibius beasts) and the graple gaurdian that wander the dungeon. and this poison swamp is the home of a terible beast

  • Oh my god, I love the Light Suit SO MUCH. And I hate the Ing, and the Dark Space Pirates which keep attacking me EVERY TIME I go to Torvus Bog and in the main portal room in the Agon Wastes.

  • I love how you can here the original theme, but its suffocating...dying..underneath a thick black atmospheric entity.

  • @LWRCftw Well said!

  • I love it.

  • Ahhhhh what a happy song!!

  • DONT BE AFRAID OF THE DARK

  • Traveling through Dark Torvus Bog, everything is a corrupted version of the already creepy place, even the song. Running from beacon to beacon, trying to avoid being consumed by the air, desperately trying to avoid Hunter Ing. Panting as you are on the brink of death, hoping that an Ing doesn't find you...and that your beacon doesn't go out.

  • Gah, I hate the parts of this song that sound like laughter. >_<

  • @crapheadandidiot

I thought that too! At one oint it soundslike the music itself laughs at you, only making it worse for your sake.

  • @purppanther It's really creepy, isn't it? It's like "Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha!" and you're like "Stop laughing at me, I'm trying so hard, dammit! ;.;"

  • I love the music here!!I love to sing it! lol :))

  • @OrangeGingerSpice Uhhh...uhh...w-what?

  • WHAT THE HELL. I CANT FIND A PLAYLIST OF METROID PRIME 1, 2, 3. Arrrgg...bad FEELINGS....I...diieeee..................

  • @TurKlack here ya go buddy /playlist?list=PL52B29A4F94B55FC6&feature=playlist-comment

  • Waaay too many Hunter Ing in this region of Dark Aether.

  • helo what do we have hearom MY GOD HUNTER ING!

  • This was my favorite dark world besides Dark Temple Grounds. Dark Torvus because of the cool music, and Hunter Ing.

Dark Temple Grounds because it always seemed to quiet. Rarely did I find an enemy, but once I came across the Dark Metroids, I kept thinking one was gonna pop up soon.

  • This dark song is awesome scary

  • Retro Studios really wanted us to hate Dark Aether. They did a damn good job of it.

  • dark word is great, i feel as my home, like my place

  • @josurer lol on my game i made it my home!

my thoey is everyone can have a home base in the video game world and Dark Aether is my home!

  • @emperoring112 You're going to need a Light Suit

  • @DarkDialga960 lol yeah i know but...wait I DO HAVE THE LIGHT SUIT HOOORRAY!!! lol

  • Comment removed

  • Play this theme and the main Phazon Mines theme from Prime 1 at the same time, and now that just makes it very interesting :)

  • omg.. We gotta go through the portal AGAIN!?

  • I admit this sound track is probably the most eerie and unsettling, the rest of the dark world music is still like so, but this one is the top. It keeps you moving.

  • Shiver down my spine, best game ever. Wish i could erase my memory and play it again and again, not know what breathtaking scenery would show up after opening door after door...

Man, did i enjoy this game...

  • Shit's scary as fuck.

  • MILK!

  • Playing this game always made me think of what a dark Tallon IV would be like..

  • @SilentKill400 Maaan I wanna see EVERY place Dark Aetherized! How d'you think that would turn out? :D

  • Out of all of the world this is the only one that didn't give me the creeps.

  • can you imagine what this game would be like if they made it a three dimensional game, and you gat a special helmet were you can actually be in the game!

    ..... holy shit

  • thumbs up if this song kind of freaks you out when your alone

  • @kablabrules And if metroid prime in dark world scares you when your alone and not fully powered with weapons and cool armor

  • Comment removed

  • @kablabrules A thumbs up indeed for you, but I love the freaky evil music playing in Dark Torvus Bog.

  • @kablabrules

when i return here i am fucking scared of the dark commando pirates and those dark animals that looks like a rhino

  • @Jerk1ngDud3o4

Dark Commando pirates=Dark Beam then Missiles

  • Original Metroid music........Ambience under Melody

Super Metroid music.......... Ambience equal to Melody

    Metroid Prime music...........Ambience over Melody

Super Metroid music for the win!!

  • MAWK-MAWK-MAWK-MAWK!!

  • What would the other light version of dark aether look like?

    Light Ing? lol

  • My first time at Dark Agon, I was so freaking scared. I turned my brain into FPS mode, ready to tap the hell out of the firing mechanism, I expected some shadowy creatures to leap out at me. Or with my previous encounter with possed space pirates, i expected to be slaughtered as hopped from relieving light fields, and into the burning, dark, atmosphere of Dark Aether.

  • You know, really, this is the only game that has ever instilled fear into me. great job with the music

  • I was so scared when I entered this place for the first time!

  • Everything on Dark Aether hurts you; the creatures, the water, the freaking air! Virtually nothing that enters this wretched, God-forsaken place lives long enough to regret doing so. Utter desolation is the only world that can describe this hellhole. I think what Retro Studios was going for was to make you constantly ask in your mind "How the hell could anything survive here?!". And then you realize how truly twisted the Ing themselves have to be to even survive, much less thrive on Dark Aether.

  • I ever must look behind me then i think a Hunter-Ing Is following me.

    But im alone there... alone.

  • @blablablablabla895 I always am scared that someone.. or something is following me too.. I always freak out when I see just a shadow thinking it's a warrior ing but then realizing what it really is..

  • @blablablablabla895 Oh, I always thought I was being stalked by one of them. Easy to kill sometimes, but my god, they were sneaky.

  • @Toxica47 heh...i got used to the idea you kill it and it respawns when you leave very VERY quickly...and i found the hunter ing to be rather easy to kill! they should've listened to that quote..."DON'T GO TOWARDS THE LIGHT!!!!" was hilarious how many assisted hunter suicides i caused...

  • @blablablablabla895 I was like "W-what the heck?!?" when I first saw those things. Then I scanned the name and made a run for it. You DO realize Lumos AKA U-Mos was speaking indirectly about the Hunter Ing by saying they would try harder? I think the dark quads kinda qualify as Ing, also.

  • This music truly reminds me of my near death experience/astral projection and all the sounds/music I was familiar with in the 3rd dimension was all mangled/distorted. They really seemed to capture dimensional concepts quite well.

  • On second thought, they wanted us to hate Dark Aether. But if your someone like me, you understand its true beauty, despite being a hellhole

  • even though this game was a legend in first person shooters, the going from dark to light frankly started to get on my nerves.

only later in the game did I realize that that feeling of being frustrated is what makes metroid prime games so amazingly epic. thank you for uploading.

  • @wolffang4673 I found it quite brilliant actually, it was the most original concept I've came across in a game of it's time.

  • I played twilight princess and this is far better than twilight hyrule! I also liked how after I defeated the chykka adult, the sky was red with lighting flashing sporadically.

  • God. Damn. GRAPPLE GUARDIAN

  • i always loved how depressingly ambient dark aether's music was. seriously, these are some of the best tracks in a video game.

  • Dark Torvus(above ground) was seriously freaky. I'm SO glad that only one room had Dark Grenchlers. If they put those nasty bastards up above ground, where it was creepier, that'd be just cruel.

  • I remember when I was dawdling in Dark Torvus Bog for the first time, looking for a Missile Expansion and all of a sudden an enemy appeared. "Ok" I thought to myself "Let's kill it slowly... Everything's under control... Let me make sure I don't touch the purple goo..." and then I accidentaly hit one those things that store items with Samus' back and it made an incredibly loud noise. "HOLY HELL WHERE'S THE PORTAL? I GOTTA GO BACK TO LIGHT AETHER" that was my reaction at the time.

  • The worst thing of dark aether was when de sky became red. It was scary and because of the dust you couldn´t see as far as usual. Specially in dark agon wastes

  • fuckin boost guardian.

  • Creepy but for some odd reason relaxing. Now Dark Agon Wastes was just creepy.

  • can you imagine?

You: hey what if i stick my hand out of this field? AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!

Your umbrella that appeared randomly: WTF BAD IDEA

    You: Who said that?

Emperer ing: Watch Shartl9's Video- EAS Destruction threat. the ing have threatened to dump a bucket of acid on the computers!!!!!!

  • Well round 1 with the boost guardian was tough. round 2 i got him. how many rounds it took me too kill that MOTHERFUCKING SPIDER GUARDIAN? consecutively 34 times before that fuckin pillbug died. I replay the game. I get the boost guardian in 1 round but lose some health (I made a strategy too fight that bitch) spider ball guardian. about 40 times. Anyone else have a hard time with that little pillbug?

  • @godofmajora First time ever i faced him i died like, 27 times?

  • I did too

  • @godofmajora Kind of, for me. it took me like 3 tries to kill that little piece of shit. :( Then i replayed the game without losing your items in the beginning and the spider ball guardian was really easy since i had the spiderball.

  • @PhazonShroom

    wow

    howd you do that?

  • @MrMrsirr it is shown here: watch?v=yIH76tIwlDo

  • @godofmajora i died like 10 times on normal then when i forgot about him on hard and when the time came to face him...well lets just say my controller has seen better days. but after that it makes normal mode so easy that you could beat him losing not even 1 energy tank

  • @JesusEncinasTV that sounds cool, it makes me wonder what dark earth would be like, or maybe dark phaaze ^^

  • @medkitzbelongtome I looked at other metroid stuff, and they said "Dark Aether" couldve been the future of phazon, if it spread to all over the universe. . .

  • This is possiblly the best game ever made!

  • Im talking to metroid fans.

In the "light world", we all know how the galaxy looks like in metroid.

But, how does it look like in Dark Aether?

Imagine, if you left the surface of Dark Aether and explored the galaxy.

What would everything be like? How would planet Phaze look like. A whole new Universe was created becuase of the Leviathan impact on Aether. It gives me goose bumps thinkin of what you would incounter. . .

  • @JesusEncinasTV I think the only planet in existence in Dark Aether's dimension was, well, Dark Aether.

  • @KawaiiDesuNekoBCSK I have seen some of metroid creators interviews and they have said another whole universe was created, not just dark Aether.

  • Comment removed

  • @JesusEncinasTV so theres a dark tallon IV? Great...can you imagine a dark dark samus?

  • @evilisbliss That would be very strange. Wouldnt it? How wouldve Mother Brain Looked like?!

  • @JesusEncinasTV wow...or ridley, or kraid, or crocomire...disturbing to think about...

  • @evilisbliss I know crazy right? That means there is a dark, dark samus, since Dark samus was made in the light world...

  • @JesusEncinasTV if samus met that thing, she'd be dead in a heartbeat...does that mean there are light ing, dark luminoth, and dark chozo? I don't want to imagine what those would be like....

  • @evilisbliss Probly, most likely yes. Dang, a dark chozo? Thats...Thats to much...

  • @JesusEncinasTV a dark chozo ghost would be worse...O_O

  • @evilisbliss Holy Balls, that would be crazy!

  • @JesusEncinasTV I guess it's a good thing Samus will probably never find herself on Dark Tallon IV....

  • @evilisbliss Haha, yeah. If she ever did, it wouldve been a fight to the death!

  • @JesusEncinasTV If she happened to die, I wonder what would kill her....

  • @evilisbliss Dark Phazon?

  • @JesusEncinasTV If that exists, then that's another reason to hate Phazon...I could see that...provided she made it that far...I can't see her getting past the dark hive mecha, if she's even able to get to it (I'm assuming that the atmosphere of Dark Tallon would be toxic like Dark Aether, but Samus would not have the benefit of Luminoth technology)

  • @evilisbliss excatly, dark tallon IV would be venomous and samus wouls have only minutes til her suit fails, becuase of the Luminoth tech, like you said. Thats just mind boggling!

  • @JesusEncinasTV it definitely is...what I don't understand is why the impact of the Leviathan on Aether created another dimension, an effect not replicated on Tallon IV or Phaaze...was Aether already unstable?

  • @evilisbliss Another dimension was created becuase tha planet was beening stabilized from the Energy Transfer things. When the levathan hit, it created a new world, a new universe.

  • @JesusEncinasTV ok, just looked it up on Wikitroid...doesn't explain why the Light of Aether, the energy source upon which the Luminoth depended upon settling the planet, was powerful enough to threaten the planet's well-being, though it does explain the creation of an alternate dimension, the phazon energy of the Leviathan that struck Aether being ten times more powerful than that of Tallon IV. Another question: did the collapse of Dark Aether cause a collapse of the supposed Dark Tallon IV...

  • @evilisbliss I think only the planet Dark Aether got destroyed. Dark Aether was just the window to the universe, when it collapesed the cross between worlds closed. but The "Dark" universe still remains. If they ever want to visit it for god knows why they would have to find or make a portal to that specific universe.

  • @JesusEncinasTV I see...well if the Luminoth ever feel suicidal, they know where to go XD

  • @evilisbliss Lmao. Or just talk to the dark side of themselves!

  • @JesusEncinasTV provided, of course, that their dark sides actually want to talk and don't have the urge to kill them

  • @evilisbliss Haha, like the metroids, see and destroy.

  • @JesusEncinasTV and the rest of the Dark universe?

  • We all know now that the reason for Tallon IV and Planet Aether's conditions were caused by Phaaze.

  • @ninjatomaster I never said they were not...the discussion that took place a month ago explored the possibility of a Dark Metroid universe existing because of the Leviathan impact on Aether, the only planet that was split into two dimensions during the Prime trilogy. What bothers me is what differed between Tallon IV and Aether. Why wasn't Tallon split?

  • @evilisbliss I believe the answer lies in the Luminoth's energy controller system. One of the lores stated that Aether had become critically unstable before the system was established. When the Leviathan strike disrupted the system, the epic clash of the light energy and the Phazon energy is probably what tore space itself in two - it's the most plausible explanation I've heard, based on what the game itself states :)

  • @evilisbliss well maybe..

but i assume the phazon suit (the black one you get after killing the giant space pirate) would protect her, seeing as it would provide her camouflage and essentially hide her in the shadows of Dark Aether. The black-on-black would literally make her an umbral assasin on that god-forsaken place.

And i also believe the phazon suit would be undamaged from Dark Aether's atmosphere since what created DA in the 1st place was phazon.

  • @JesusEncinasTV Which ones? There's not a single one that said a whole dimension was created.

  • aether looks so much better in the dark...sounds better too, lol

  • One of my favorite Dark world songs. You can hear the original song in the background, but slow and contorted, as though it is trapped or constricted by the dark energies in the world. The ominous noises and echoes give you a feeling of fear and that death is always looming near, while the screeches give you the feeling of being watched by something at all times. The slow yet spastic beat of the music adds to the feeling of darkness, and evil. I love this song so much, it just can't be beat.

  • @FleshMan7063 wow u captured the essence of this song so well lol i love it :D

    thumbs up :D

  • @FleshMan7063 that's just beautiful man..............are you a poet or something?..................because that was just beautiful

  • @MrBman10123 maybe...

  • @FleshMan7063 nice......

  • @FleshMan7063 You did a great job of analyzing the inner workings of this tune. The notes from the original Torvus Bog tune are there, but they're much slower and a lot of them are out of tune, like the dark energies from Dark Aether have choked the life out of the song and left behind an empty husk.

  • @FleshMan7063 Yes, I reckon Samus IS being watched by SOMETHING. SOMETHING which is pure blackness. SOMETHING which has been born with Dark Aether, like the Emperor Ing, but of the same evil kind. SOMETHING as strong as Phaaze itself

  • @FleshMan7063 would be a cool music for a Zelda Dungeon..maby the Ghost-Dungeon

  • Every single Dark World song sounds like something is going to eat me... And those weird echoes sound like the world is laughing at your misfortune before it eats you.

  • 1:01 Does anyone think that synth in the background sounds like laughing? o_O I never noticed that before...

  • what i like about prime 2 (and 1 and 3) is that the artists were able to make things dark and evil without turning it into an M rated game. when in the dark world you know its creepy, you know your alone, and you know that in the darkness, evil awaits, ready. protect the light.

  • the one thing i hated about this area was those hunter ing, i had no idea how to kill them because every time I tried to fire a missile ro a charged shot they just went straight through it. I want to play the game again tbh

  • There is no control over this severely corrupt place. The only heroic thing that resides there are Luminoth crystals which are all under the control of U-Mos. Only U-Mos and Samus can save Aether.

  • <=) I guess watching purple water flow is....Epic?

  • Sounds just like home.

    Wait, it IS home.

  • Oh God. I always used to be scared of the dark themes, and the dark world in it's entire entity.

  • The Prime Trilogy has some awesome music to smoke a bowl to :D

  • I think Dark Torvus is genuinely the scariest dark area, the enemies are wicked there (dark grenchlers=pain), and that adds to the seeping dread when actually playing the game. Out of context, I find this music weirdly soothing.

  • @SableGear ... but in real life Sanctuary Fortress will be the scariests ... Skrew Attack You QUADRAXIS -.-

  • Also, with that, Prime 2 is more difficult, both the enemies and puzzling maze-like areas.

It's more frustrating. Mix frustration with depressing, moody music...and the result is a game that can be pretty menacing to play.

Prime 2 can get to you if you let it.

  • Like most of you are saying, theres something wierd about Prime 2 in comparison to 1 I jus't cant put my finger on.

Maybe its the depressing, heavy, ambient hardly-even-music music that's eveywhere in the game.

Prime 1 feels wondrous and upbeat most of the time.

Prime 2 is just, dark, depraved, and disturbed.

-It's heavy, its not as happy an experience to play.

  • the songs in this game are weird when you hear its dark forn

  • is it just me or are the environments in MP 2 just really unappealing, unlike MP 1

  • I don't know. If an environment in a corrupted world seems appealing to you, either the developers did a terrible job or there is something wrong with you.

  • corrupted they may be but the developers could've at least made them a little more interesting, instead of just the filler between boss fights

  • For me, it's not that MP2 is less appealing, but that MP1 just has more variety.

Just gonna say to me the quality of the environments were equally amazing, but in the end it's just what appeals to the player the most...

  • yeah in the end I don't know what it is about the game that bothers me so much, and at the same time I don't know why I'm playing it again

  • Eh, Agon Wastes was kinda meh personally. But then Sanctuary wipes the floor of any game so...

  • It's a matter of variety. Prime 1 had a lush forest-y area, ancient ruins, snow land, lava caves, and a military mining operation.

Prime 2 has a 2 deserts, a swamp, and a high tech fortress.

  • It's just you.

  • Is there an extended version somewhere?

  • Is there a Dark Submerged temple?

  • Dark Torvus Bog covers the swamp and the Submerged Temple.

  • What kinda scares me is that Cry the Hunter Ing emit when they die. I use my anniahlator beam on a crystal, the float toward it, burst into smoke, and emit a bone-chattering cry.

  • This recording isn't very good quality. It doesn't do the steel-smooth ambient qualities any justice.

  • I can almost here the screams of unsaved humanity in this game. It's awful!

  • Seriously, unless you are emo, no one wants to be there. =D

  • Dark Aether is quite a hellhole.

I'd like to see someone get in there and not pee themselves.

  • If I had the Dark suit in real life nothing would make me scared.........oh hey! Dark samus wouldnt pee itself!

    ...........or would it? LOL

  • I know, even the walls are alive there and squirm all over, besides the idea of a fucking Ing poping out of the floor to eat you up makes you go paranoid.

  • @TheAlmightyArbiter or at least not shit themselves?

  • Anyone have an extended version of this? I love this!

  • God, this is depressing music.

  • You seem to be having some keyboard trouble.

    A
