My bird freaks out when I am changing his toys. I am constantly changing them so knows how to deal with it. Different colors, shapes. Sometimes, I introduce the toy near the cage/perch and slowly move it into his cage. He is only 2 years old.
Lol, when I saw this video, I immediately thought: "This owner seems to love his bird, but I am SURE there is some comment flaming him because he caused his grey to growl." People are so touchy on youtube. Birds can become terrified of weird things. If he only did it once and stopped after he realized the bird was afraid of it, I don't see a problem with it. You can see the grey trusts/loves the man because he climbs up his shoulder for safety.
Aww my parrotlet used to do that when he found something fluffy. He was never frightened of them. He'd sit on them, nibble them and occasionally bite them hard lol Even though parrotlets are only 5 inches in size..they think they're bigger than anything xD I loved my parrotlet to bits..he was my little companion..sadly we lost him due to an unknown illness :'/ I miss him so much </3
I love the whole bunch of random fuck-holes who assume that they know everything that is going on in this guy's life.
He says this was the first and last time (3 years ago) and yet there are still fucking idiots popping up and making an ass of themselves, you should all mature a little before you post stupid comments like that.
It's obvious to this guy that the bird is afraid but he doesn't look like he's trying to scare it.
When he sees the squirel from any distance, and just shows that he knows he's there and DOES NOT SCREAM, give him his favorite treat. Repeat this process once or twice a day ONLY, slowly moving the squirel closer. It will take time, but the bird will associate the squirel with a treat. Show the squirel, when he sees it, say good boy, then give him a treat. Only once or twice, dont over do it.
If you leave the toy where the bird can see it all the time and investigate it at its own leisure they get okay with it. My bird bit the hell out of me the first time she saw my digital camera.
My parrot does this to a Hoover he's scared of it because he thinks it's going to hurt him! Parrots are normally scared of anything bigger than them or anything they don't recognise!
I was taking a purple swiffer out of the drawer to start cleaning and mine he completely flipped out on me.
Turns out he absolutely hates purple
He looks like a baby try to get him play with pretty much everything that way one day you don't hear that I''ve been doing that alot but he will never go near anything purple not even when i wear a purple shirt.
stupid guy bothering the poor bird, he doesn´t now how to deal with animals specially birds, its like come on guy live the poor bird alone dont make it sad or scare him, get a life!
lol that is too funny, but kinda scary too. I'm kinda afraid to get a larger sized parrot because if it's cranky one bite and your finger pops off haha. But I have 3 lovebirds right now 2 I raised from their eggs.
After a couple of times you show him the object he will get used to it.....(PS....l use different objects like so......when l want my one to get back his cage when he is does not want to go in....lol...
not to worry i hav read about it all baby greyz r afraid of new toyz ,etc.... the solution 4 this is first show him the toy from distance nd play with the toy like its a gud thing but dunt give it to him repeat 5-6 timez but dunt give him aftr that slowly take it near 2 him nd the trick will work,,it worked on my bird!!!!
If its soo bad why watch it... Its not like he does it every time he walks past the bird.. He learnt its afraid of it, I doubt he'll do it again... Leave the guy alone. Keeps your feelings too yourself. For the sake of us and the people viewing your stupid comments...

It's not funny, anyone who owns a bird recognizes that sound as one of fear. Birds are prey animals and anything that looks to them like it's a predator is traumatizing to them. Not something you would do to your kids, so why your beloved bird?
that was the first time we showed our bird that dog toy squirrel and that was the last asshole. we love our bird and would never hurt him or terrorize him.

Regardless of how many times,it was a thoughtless, callous thing to do.When you have a traumatic nightmare, just think of how your heart races and the fear you experience, then remember your defenseless bird. That's how he felt, whether you meant to inflict fear or not. First or last time, you still terorized the bird and if calling me names makes you feel bigger, call away. That doesn't offend me,but your sense of humor does! Reacting with name calling shows you have no respect for humans or animals.
yeahhhhh you're an incompetant fool Zeduchess time for you to shut up now. o___O How were they supposed to know if the fuckin' toy would scare the bird or not until they showed it to him. If the bird made that sound, one investigates it further to see if it will continue. Grow a fuckin' brain you tree hugger. e___e They're not out to scar their poor widdle baby for christ's sake. Go fuck yourself and comment on a video that needs attetion like the dog that a guy is starving just for "art"
Go eat yourself! First off,you know nothing about me.I don't live anyone where near tree huggers, thus I am not into that save the enviroment crap. Two,I've raised these birds for over fifteen years,so I'm not new to keeping these birds.I do know what I'm talking about and anyone WITH a brain would see that was NOT a normal reaction, but a reaction of fear.I don't blame the owner for not knowing the difference. But,it's still not funny, whether done innocently and even less funny if done purposely.
PLEASE DO NOT scare your bird like that!! AGreys are very skitish to begin with, they need your love, time and trust, and will be the 1st to reward and thank you for it. Not funny dude - stop it!!
