actually, the original version of deep down trauma hounds appears on CFM. While MTPI was released first, DDTH did not originally appear on the first release. it didn't appear on MTPI until its re-release in cd form in 1988 which was after CFMs original release. the vinyl and cassette for MTPI doesn't have DDTH.
Yes you're right and MTPI was the first album I ever bought by Skinny Puppy and it was on vinyl. I cringe to think about the Skinny Puppy collection I lost along with my entire vinyl catalog. I doubt I could replace some of the 12" singles.
You don't know what "holds down" Skinny Puppy. The way I see it, nothing is holding them down, because they are the most influential Industrial band of all time.
If you don't like Skinny Puppy for their political beliefs, you should just listen to another band. Because SP has always been centered around politics.
I suppose that you would like for all artists to stay out of politics... so that no one can show their opinion in your pseudo-democratic, pseudo-capitalist, neo-fascist world.
then i guess youd best dig up john lennon and berate him, and maybe go beat up bono too
(please do actually) but as others hve said, this is not a recent thing, sp has always been at least semi political. there is no reason good music cannot exist with ones opinions, in fact its quite the opposite
in fact, even """""politically neutral"""" lyrics are political, cause even don't being critic it's a political stance. It's impossible to don't be political... the most un-political art you can hope is a lot of conformist shit, and you have a lot of that crap in the cultural mainstream. So go hear NIN or Manson, wuz
I've never heard guys trip over their words as much as Nivek and Dwayne....haha but hey, even that makes them cool. R.I.P. to Dwayne definatly...damn shame the music world lost him...
In 1995, Ogre quit Skinny Puppy to pursue other musical projects, which effectively ended Skinny Puppy. Goettel then fled back to Vancouver with the master tapes of the recordings. Days later, he was found dead of a heroin overdose in his parents' home. Ogre, Key and Rave completed The Process in his memory; and it was released in 1996.
i've got his obituary, plus a number of interviews do in fact discuss his heroin use and death. i have never heard of any other type of conspiracy about this either. if u would like to see the obituary feel free to pm me.
Rest in Peace Dwayne. :.-(
