@MultiGodfather you start with a random character, but at anytime while not in a multiplayer game you can change the look of your character, although in some game modes like cops and crooks, the crooks are automatically dressed as mafia members, while the cops are dressed in cop uniforms.

I have a windows XP with a pentium D processor and 1GB RAM.

I want to buy GTA4.

This dude on youtube told me that it would be cheaper if I buy an Xbox360 or a PS3 rather than Upgrading my computer.

Plus I get GTA4 free with PS3 if I buy the specific model.

What do you think I should do?

In my opinion I should take a PS3 cuz it's gonna help me get in2 the whole next gen gaming thing, but I'd like other peoples opinion as well....

Xbox is cheaper than Ps3 and thats also combined with the price of Gta IV, however you need to remember that the consoles dont have editor. But they have better controls. Oh and Xbox version got THe lost and damned Downloadable content for 20 bucks, let me know if you get an Xbox.

the xbox is only 1000 rupees cheaper than ps3

which is half the price of GTA and one rupee is like 50 US dollars.

well I guess I should buy an Xbox cuz theres more games and all but I've heard that Ps3 internet is free and Xbox isn't .

I'll probably buy a new console by the end of the month.

Well all 3 has some pro's

PC being to have the awesome editor and good multiplayer.

PS3 having free internet but its not that good, after what i have heard.

Xbox 360 you can get the extra Lost and Damned package, and the next one that comes out.

I prefer the xbox though, because i own one, and Xbox Live is really good. But it would be so awesome to have the editor on PC :D

the graphics are only as good as your computer and a computer can have MUCH MORE power than a console. mine for example runs this game better than my brothers ps3 with one badass graphics card and he and his freinds have said it themselves including my own freinds. now imagine if i bought 2 more of the same graphics card, there would be no even think of comparing the two. computers atm can use up to 4 graphics cards in sli mode (its like duo for graphics chips) and the loads times way faster

No there are plenty more things to do with the pc version. If your pc can handle it then it is way better then the console. My laptop is 500 dollars and can handle gta iv on medium settings

1. The controls on the controller is your opinion. I dont think its way better, thats not a fact. I prefer the keyboard and mouse.

2. Extras are better; Video editor, FREE online (with a lot of players),Piles of new mods that will be released throughout GTA IV.
