That was disappointing. You learn almost nothing about link. How about teaching the newbies hookshot recovery, or perfect SHFFLing, or using the arrow to absorb a charge beam, or using bomb stun to save yourself from a strong hit. My comment has more info on link than the video does..

Yeah easy. You just shoot an arrow, and once it's planted in the ground, if Samus shoots her charge beam at you, the arrow will absorb it for some reason..

But it has to be stuck in the ground. Just a good fact to know when you play as link.

Although I agree on how GERM never explains how to do any of it, I'd argue that it's not "fucking useless" because we at least learn that these techs exist.

Despite a lack of recent GERM vids, he's easily one of my favorite Link players. I too want to play him but no such luck (does he even still play melee?)

you poor kids, no one is answering you guys. You can drop bombs by pushing Z when you're in the air. To drop them on the ground without them blowing up you need to push Z right before you land. It takes timing and practice. So go do that when you get the chance, practice, practice for Brawl. Now what happens at 1:28? He's hitting the Green Link with a Sex Kick (neutral A in air) Fall through the platform but while you're 'in it' for lack of better description do an aerial attack.

Ok...I know how to wavedash with every character including Link... I can do the first step (Regular Wavedashing) But how do you "Perfect" wavedash with him and get that much distance? Can someone please explain?

I'm guessing its the angle you tilt the control stick, the more horizontal it goes the more distance you get

That actually is how you get the full length. Tilt the stick more horizontally and make sure you push "R" or "L" faster than you normally would.

FUCKING SCARY. Man... If I had the ability to wavedash, maybe I would be a little bit better at the game. But sadly, learning to wavedash would require me to first lose all my skill at the game, and then to regain it all back, jumping w/ X or Y, rather then the analog. Frankly, I'm just too lazy.

if you don't platform cancel, you get a bit of lag till the next movement, which may give your opponent time to attack you back.

but if you platform cancel, you reduce the lag, thus you earn some time to attack, and reduce your opponent's time to attack you.

he doesn't catch the bombs in midair. to do the bomb drop-catch: short hop, drop the bomb at the height of the jump, fastfall, and then catch the bomb using the A button once you land.

To drop bombs and not have the explode... you need to be near a ledge or a slanting edge...

notice his locations when he does it.

then it's simple... just hit z in midair and he'll LET go of the bombs... you can do this with any character and any item... but with links bombs if you do it close to an edge it will just lightly land on that edge or ledge or w.e
