  • thanks! i was there and have been searching for any of these central park shows. thx so much!

  • wait for it...wait for it....Paul Stanley kick and arm move ...0:35

  • Wow! From squishy ballad to some "Rockin and Rollin"

  • WTF is this shit!!!!! I've had good close friends question my love for this WIZARD!....now they know! and Todd is not in the R&R hall of fame?

  • holy moly mother of God ! Not much can compare to Todd/Utopia live around late '70's......stunning,epic,majestic...and yeah,he should be in the Rock Hall of Fame...

  • Amazing!! Obviously shot by a fan who knew the song and even captured the vocal trade offs. The sound must have been incredible. This is why viagra wasn't invented or needed back then. We had this stuff.

  • I was at this concert and every other one Todd played in Central Park, incredible!

  • Was better when it was Schaeffer Music Festival! But, Todd is a master showman regardless!!!

  • Utopia canceled the southern leg of this tour, Until now, I'd only seen photos of this show. Thank you. Post more!

  • Supa one shout cam dude!

  • I was there!!! Loved that tour!! I can remember waiting on line all day. You could bring coolers filled with drinks and food. Back when you still could get away with that. sharing food and drink with other fans in line. Being from the NY area, I went to many different shows there. Every summer they had a great line-up of concerts.

  • and THIS guy's NOT in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Yeah, THAT makes sense...

  • @steviethek i know go figure

  • thanks harp man!!

  • THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I MET TOSS- BACK STAGE @ WOLMAN RINK IN N.Y.C. He HAD 2 LITTLE DOGS W/HIM

  • iwhy do i have so much trouble posting my comments?

  • this isthe cocert that i FIRST met Todd at. Back stage-he had 2 little dogs w/him

  • @MERCURHILLMANIAC ....Hi Merc,...damn I wish I had seen this show, Rundgren just puts it out there.....later bro

  • Looks like a lot of pot being smoked in this audience!!! :) I urge everyone to pick up the Utopia CD "RA", if you don't already own it. It came out in 1977 and I feel it is just as good as "A Wizard, A True Star", "Something Anything", "'Runt", etc.

  • II WAS THERE!!!!

  • wow. I was there also and at many others @ the wollman rink and pier. Was this shot on super 8mm sound film? Excellent and thanks!

  • THANKS for posting. This is one of my FAVORITE videos on Youtube. Not the greatest recording, but the camera work and live energy more than make up for that. What a SCORCHING solo!!!

  • Great camera work in my opinion. Thank you.

  • Is it my imagination, or is that Bean watching from the wings? Great vid!!

  • Wow, I was there. Thank you so much for posting.

  • Central Park, New York City, New York

1979...This IS Todd and Utopia at their Firery Best-------------this just before they flew to England, to open up for Led Zeppelin at Knebworth--

  • Great show, great tune, great band. And great venue! But I bet it was hot as hell, and Todd was in those black spandex pants. One question, though: Wonder who arranged the stage, so that Roger's butt faced the audience all day? hahaha. I caught this tour four days later, at Legend Valley in Ohio. Excellent time to see a concert!

  • wow , thanks for posting this!!

  • with a new album of ROCK, he's far from lost. GREAT VIDEO-THANKS for sharing

  • there he is! pop's lost genius ;)

  • So Chris ... you waited on line all day too?

  • i sat just to the right of this film--i am speechless-- times stops -- it is 1979 again and i have just graduated high school

  • Yup, I was there....great stuff. I can't believe mylar balloons existed then. LOL and that obivious boombox recording the concert!!

  • OK, that did it. Now I'm subscribing. You've got great stuff!

  • Freakin Awesome!!!!!!!!!! I guess you don't have the whole show since it was shot in super8 do ya?

  • Just theses numbers plus an abbreviated "The Seven Rays" (ran out of film). I may post that when I get the time.

  • OMG! OMG! OMG! Where did you get this video? Love it! Ohhh the pants! :) Nice :)

  • Thanks for posting Stephanie. The Super-8 film has been stashed in the attic all this time.
