holy moly mother of God ! Not much can compare to Todd/Utopia live around late '70's......stunning,epic,majestic...and yeah,he should be in the Rock Hall of Fame...
Amazing!! Obviously shot by a fan who knew the song and even captured the vocal trade offs. The sound must have been incredible. This is why viagra wasn't invented or needed back then. We had this stuff.
I was there!!! Loved that tour!! I can remember waiting on line all day. You could bring coolers filled with drinks and food. Back when you still could get away with that. sharing food and drink with other fans in line. Being from the NY area, I went to many different shows there. Every summer they had a great line-up of concerts.
Looks like a lot of pot being smoked in this audience!!! :) I urge everyone to pick up the Utopia CD "RA", if you don't already own it. It came out in 1977 and I feel it is just as good as "A Wizard, A True Star", "Something Anything", "'Runt", etc.
THANKS for posting. This is one of my FAVORITE videos on Youtube. Not the greatest recording, but the camera work and live energy more than make up for that. What a SCORCHING solo!!!
Great show, great tune, great band. And great venue! But I bet it was hot as hell, and Todd was in those black spandex pants. One question, though: Wonder who arranged the stage, so that Roger's butt faced the audience all day? hahaha. I caught this tour four days later, at Legend Valley in Ohio. Excellent time to see a concert!
thanks! i was there and have been searching for any of these central park shows. thx so much!
