@imagod00d How bout trans fluid and red hot pipes? wouldnt be first time a car caught fire because of fluid on the exhaust, its not something they'd risk for the sake of not carrying a fire extinguisher 10 meters.
@saintluke87 However I'm not convinced that there are any fluids that are volatile. The only volatile fluids would be the fuel. You make a good point though, as there is a possibility that a fuel line could have been damaged/split during the time the gearbox went kaput.
argue and call each other names all you want. i for one see a vehicle that just putt down 1900+hp. and that was at the point the tranny got scared and ran away. would love too see what that beast can do with heavier box in it.
Dynos are hursh things and are extremely demanding on your car as we see here it will always find the weak spot.I always tell people before we do there car to think twice about it cause no responsobility taken when shit goes bang on the dyno.
@mikej5337 And if you werent a complete fuck head you would know that their both american cars, Ford being itself and Holden being a branch of Cheverlet
@18DBest Did you really just call Holden an American car? Sure GM owns holden , GM own toyota also, are they american cars?
Pull your head out your arse, champ. Holden headquaters are in Australia, the cars are designed by Australlians and built by Australians. Who gives a fuck what the parent company is.
@Antifaith29 My friend, you don't know what you are talking about. Holden was a subsidiary OF GM when they entered the automotive field back in 1931, who do you think they learned from, as well as were infleunced by since that point in time? GM simply took over the reigns later on, but that doesn't change the fact that Holden learned what it did through collaborating with General Motors all those years. Kindly give credit where credit is due, and get over the anti-GM rhetoric....
@StreetLethalRacing Mate, i do know what im talking about, i work for holden. I dont see any americans building the cars. I know where holden comes from, i have no problem with GM , what i do have a problem with is every second ignoarnt fuckwit american comming along on every one of these posts saying " oh this and that part of the car is american therfor the whole car is american, america rule the world yippie!" It gets fucking old and boring real fast.
@StreetLethalRacing So Does that mean that GM is learnt from Mercedes??? Afterall Mercedes built the first internal combustion engine powered vehicle. You're typical ignorant, "the whole world revolves around us" seppo mate. Just admit that you've been outdone, that Aussie engenuity and know how have left you guys reeling. Grow up homo!!
@robkal56 The irony is, Holden would have pushed them just as hard, if not harder in prototype testing. The smallest of GM's manufacturers turns out some of the best. Their idea of "testing" a transmission, is pushing it UNTIL it breaks. If that breaking point is too low, then they go back to the drawing board
are you sure... i thought horespower heroes had to use pump fuel... correct me if im wrong but a few years ago the RDRUNR rx3 got done for having octane boost, i doubt they would allow methanol.. unless the rules changed.
i heard they had packed the tray with over 200kg of cement, and that was still not enough. Two huge huffers and a blow through setup, not bad for 8 weeks worth of work
This car is in Edition 30 of Ignition DVD. It had a Turbo 400 Trans in it that blew, and when it shattered the bottom of the casing, it went screaming backwards, ripping off the entire exhaust and muffler. Much better footage on the DVD and they actually show you the mangled exhaust aswell.
by the looks of it, obviously the propshaft hitting the ground is bad, but the coolant pouring out after probably means its blown rings and gaskets when the drive train locked up. Total overkill with power, but was always gonna blow up one way or another.
......does this ute still hold the record?
