Looks like a hogs hair brush. If it is it will NOT scratch the paint. Period. The brush scratching comes from the nylon brushes, do not use those.

I own self service car washes. A quality brush is made out of boars hair. They will not scratch if they are clean. spray the brush with high pressure wand first, then run your hand over the brush to ensure all grit and other nastys are off the brush. You will be fine, it won't scratch. Avoid car washes with cheap or worn out brushes.

@fordtrucksftw I always hose down the brush real good before using it. My car hasn't been scratched yet but you are right, if you leave it dirty, there's a high probability it will scratch your paint but I don't mind too much since everyday use will take car of the scratches :)
