  • Cane football 2011 - RIP

  • The 88 game was a great game between two really great teams. How anyone can say that Miami wasn't robbed of that win is amazing. The ref who made the famous fumble call admitted that he was wrong. What more do you want?

  • what excuses did the have for the 90' loss in south bend? face it notre dame was better in 88' get over it. and whoever that deuche is talking about the arrogance of notre dame doesnt know his own team very well. just look at the audacity of miami pre fiesta bowl 87' against penn st. no body was more truculent then those thugs. what about the other 5 turn-overs in 88' were their knees down on all of those too?

  • @madmac993 hahahahaha you guys got beat by usf

  • these Miami announcers are just like the team...all bullshit. If Miami hadnt kept these thugs out of prison they wouldnt have had anyone to fill a roster. I was at 3 consecutive Nd- Miami games at the Orange Bowl...and yes...ND lost all of them, I have no excuse for that. The Miami fans were as ignorant as the team...they were perfect for each other.

  • bogus call my ass!! What excuse do you have for the 33-17 ass kicking??

  • Hey Don Bailey Jr., Notre Dame players act like they're better because they are.

  • @botts13 yea their priests are better at raping little boys

  • Will Miami go back to enrolling all sorts of street animals & thugs now that they've proven they can't contend by playing under the rules?

  • @mj7293 will notre dame continue to allow the unwanted touching of underage boys???

  • @Canesfest Thats a really clever response, you liked that one so much that you used it twice even though its not funny because nothing like that has ever happened at notre dame. Try to come up with a legitimate response please and stop wasting my time.

  • @Canesfest I'm not aware of Notre Dame allowing their priests to do this...please inform me!

  • The U Dominates !! Need to add the 1991 Cotton Bowl to the mix of games on DVD. Also what happened to the vid of 1991 Cotton Bowl vs Texas? That was an ass-kickin' of a life time !!

  • I would love for someone to upload this entire game. GO CANES!!

  • University of Pell Grant fraud

  • if they didnt cheat the canes they knew they wouldnt win

  • @leahsheray09 Those 80s teams had to cheat and have no class to win.

  • Yea were actually 2nd in academics right behind Stanford so u ND fans can shut the hell up...and superminh 13 your right you can look at the records when ND does it oh it's OK, but when we do it, were called thugs, disrespectful, convicts. The only reason people say that is because were a bunch of black kids from the hood. and everyone please stop saying it's because of all of the fights and brawls we've that were called thugs, hockey has brawls every day, and people look past it.

  • @Canesfest Nice! When backed into a corner, just play the race card! Awesome!

  • @mj7293 Yea I cnt remember the last time I posted on this video, so I don't understand why you're speaking to me, soooo yea hope you feel better about yourself idiot.

  • when notre dame beats a team 50-0 there a great team, when miami does it, it's low class. i guess a bunch of low income black kids can't be great.

  • @superminh13 Not so, grasshopper. Miami was already up by three or four touchdown when Jimmy's Johnson decided to have Testaverde run up the score. In any leage, such as the NFL, that is considered bad sportsmanship. Apparently you don't watch much football.

  • who cares about academics

  • seriously academics is for the weak-minded and the ignorant

  • I was a senior in high school when I watched this game on CBS. I was rooting for Notre Dame at the time, but in hindsight, I'm glad Notre Dame lost.

  • why?

  • Jealousy. That's all it is. Consider it flattery. Go 'Canes

  • @pmzqqzmp Jealous of WHAT? To be jealous of Miami is to be healous of thuggery and dishonesty. Yeah, we Florida fans are real jealous. Grow up kid, and learn to type. Go Alligators

  • 2:29 says it all.

  • What a match-up.

  • Miami has great students, but I thought we were watching football? This isn't the notre dame nerds vs the hurricanes in a spelling bee! This is football and its all about The U baby!

  • GO IRISH!!!!

  • Miami back then were nothing but a bunch of thugs. Who can ever forget when they arrived for the Fiesta bowl in 1986 in fatigues. Then got their asses handed to them by Penn State.Just a bunch of criminals. They must have recruited these players off the streets because i doubt they ever graduated.

  • dsfddsgh, You're an IDIOT!

Yeah, and Notre Dame's all choirboys! LOL! You're a joke!

Oh, and yeah, Penn State really handed them their lunch. Miami had 500 yards to PSU's 148. Yeah, real domination there. It was more like the SEVEN TURNOVERS that killed Miami as they were a far better team than Penn State that year. But again, I wouldn't expect AN IDIOT to understand. LOL!

  • You guys lost case closed asswipe!!

  • And by the way ND graduates most of their players every year and you rarely see them getting in trouble.. Can you say the same about Miami? Nah didn't think so.

  • Hey dsfddsgh it's funny how you and most of you haters hate on Miami and criticize them for the fatigues, but don't say anything about the racist remarks by Penn State's players. How hypocritical of you.

  • Sorry but i'm just looking at the Miami program for the last 20 plus years and it's a joke how corrupt it is. You know and i know you don't have to be a real student to play at some of these colleges. Just look at the graduation rates it's shameful.

  • Actually Miami does graduate most of their players and has a very high graduation rate when you take away the guys that leave early for the nfl.

  • For example, Miami graduated all 21 seniors from the football team for the 2005-2006 school year. dsfddsgh, you're a freaking idiot.

  • Also, Miami ranks 7th in the country in graduation rates of football players. And yes, that's ahead of Notre Dame.

  • That's because it's an easy school. Notre Dame is very hard, the students on the sports teams are known to have high SAT scores and GPA's. That's why the Irish can't compete with other schools. Just like Duke in basketball. If yur on Duke's basketball team, yur no dummy... may not be Harvard standards but def not UNLV back in the early 90's.

  • miami is anything but an easy school. stop tryin to talk sports dude ur fuckin retarded.

  • Miami may be a good school, but athletes don't have the same standards there and everyone knows. I'm not at all a Notre Dame fan but it's well known that you need to have pretty good grades and SAT scores to play there. And i can guarantee that not only do i know more about sports than you but i'm probably a better athlete than you.

  • Comment removed

  • if you know more about sports than me than why are you on a thousand different college football pages asking dumbass questions about all kinds of different players??? and you can guarantee that you're probably a better athlete wow you're really going out on a limb there. stop tryin to talk sports dude it's obvious that you're just another dumbass.

  • seriously stop trolling, don't answer my questions, i'm asking about players in the past, and what ever happened to them. There are tv shows that do the same thing with actors, so fuck off if you don't like my questions. go jerkoff to yur beloved Hurricanes.

  • dude you are fucking retarded. you don't know what you're talkin about and nothing you say makes sense. why don't you guarantee that you're probably better than me at something again.

  • Really? like i'm gonna get outsmarted by an American, you fuckers couldn't locate Canada on a map, go watch yur boring Nascar, drink yur pisswater beer and bang yur cousin.

  • wow dude that stings. you are getting outsmarted tho cuz you don't have a clue what's goin on. i'll go bang my cousin now. good luck in the olympics.

  • could be Canada Vs. U.S. for the men's Gold in hockey, not throwin' a smartass comment, just sayn' it would be an awesome rematch.

  • quit talkin to me queerbait

  • np...never again douche, so go ahead and get it all out of yur system cuz i won't be replying queer karl

  • my name isn't karl. you should try to know what you're talkin about before commenting. are u just bitter about the olympics or something?

  • sorry about yur hockey teams, Silver medal is still good, it just means yur 2nd best.

  • you should talk some shit to someone who cares about hockey. haha what a waste of a country..

  • yup, its;a waste, it could have so much more! don't worry yur still #1 in serial killers, drive by's and douchebags

  • it's so funny how geek'd up you faggots are over some little hockey game

  • ya cuz no Americans were watching at all eh? i forgot how exciting NASCAR is goober

  • how dare you call me a goober

  • oh ya i forgot about america's past time - baseball....what a snoozefest

  • dude why are you on my dick get a life

  • yur the one on my dick, go watch Nascar and drink yur pisswater beer...hope u need a $30, 000 surgery asswipe

  • uhm.. no i'm not..? i'm gonna go watch nascar now

  • @qukarlz he likes the dudes, that's why

  • yeah, just look at Miami's academic standards. More ACC academic all americans than any other team in the conference, including North Carolina and BC and UVA. aren't you a jackass

  • 8 football players...more than ANY other ACC school, that's where I was going with that point, you obviously missed that.

  • @MiamiIbis08 You're seriously comparing UM academics on an equal level to those at UVA, UNC, and BC?? LMAO! You're comparing apples to oranges my friend. UM SHOULD have more Academic All-Americans b/c the academics at UM are laughable at best in comparison to those at the schools you named.

  • @MiamiIbis08 Don't you think the classes at BC & North Carolina are just a tad bit tougher than at Miami? And given the hisotry of shadiness at UM, especially in 80's and early 90's leaves to question just how much "help" these student athletes are receiving

  • @mj7293 In the 80s and 90's, Miami wasn't comparable to a BC or a UNC. In certain fields of study, it still isn't. But very few players enter a school for their most diffcult curriculum...Players at BC and Carolina are taking the same majors for the most part Miami players are studying. I'm confident in saying the criminology department is the same at all 3.

As a former student athlete at Miami, I saw how much "help" they get. Tutors...but tutoring is offered at EVERY school.

  • @MiamiIbis08 Good point I gotta say I'm surprised to get an intelligent response on youtube. I guess my point is that if I was to take the same classes at a Harvard or Yale that I was at a much lesser school, then my grades would be much worse at Harvardf/Yale. (That's an extreme example obviously but just wanted to clarify) I do think Miami is in fact a very good school and I'm sure the things that went on, mainly under J.Johnson no longer do.

  • @MiamiIbis08 thank you for responding to this idiot with intelligence

  • I think it is funny the author of this video says "bogus" call. Miami was the benefactor of many bogus calls in their day, trust me. As for the 1993 Championship, it is stillfunny to me that Bobby Bowden voted Notre Dame #4 in the final polls, which caused ND the Championship. ND was the NC in 1993, not FSU!

  • Trust you? I'd prefer truth than trusting you. Gary's knee was down, and you guys got away with one there.

  • It was a great game for Miami and the series. It still kills me that Miami wins the National Title in 1989 over nd because of the "head to head" argument, seems logical right?... in 1993, Florida State loses to ND, the common sense demonstrated in 1989 of "head to head" winner gets the title is immediately forgotten and 11-1 ND comes in second place to 11-1 Florida State, who ND manhandled in 1993.

  • I think Miami deserved their national championship in 1989, but 1993 was our national championship.

  • Florida State was the hottest team in 1989, after their 0-2 start.

  • they didn't beat Florida St.

  • Wow don bailey has no room to talk about ppl being cocky. look at the miami team that lost to penn state in the fiesta bowl a few years before this game. now THOSE guys were full of themselves.

  • Miami's 21-20 win over Nevada in the Humanitarian Bowl this year was a much more exciting game.

  • I absolutely hate Notre Dame and the whippin exacted on the Irish is still as sweet today as it was then. I love the U!

  • I'll always remember this big game because I was stationed at Fort Jackson, SC, for boot camp and was on a weekend pass at a hotel off the post.

This game will always be nostalgic and fun for me. In a way, I miss 1989, even though I was enduring basic training. Thanks for sharing!

  • Great f'n video. Thanks for sharing it with the rest of us!

  • Absolutely classic. I was at that game back in the day. I was 15 and it was one of the best games I've ever witnessed live. Miami OWNED 'em that day. Erickson to Hill on 3rd and 43... I'll never forget that moment. Section R, just right of the 50 yard line. Classic.

Great footage. I have the 'Hurricane Flashback' DVD and watch it religiously. The ND clip, the Wide Rights and the 2003 Florida game are the best!
