This mini series has been at the back of my mind as far as i can remember. I used to watch everyday when i was eleven then my brother threw vhs tapes away now today it poped back in my mind and i thought i would search for it and see if i'm lucky. Awesome that you are posting it here. Not sure if people know that it is also available in an official 2-disc dvd version from Warner Bros. Archives for only $20. This is awesome for those of us who grew up loving this great mini but had to settle for our worn-out VHS versions or the crappy DVD bootlegs. "Lacd II" was also released, but is currently unavailable through the WB Shop. Amazon also had it for sale.

I can't believe that I can see this series again. It was aired when I was very young, but some of scenes are lingering in my mind all the time. I like what Pegan said to Lily--first love dies hard--and what Lily said to them--none of you is good enough to be my mom. This is syndicated from the book Lace by Shirley Conran if I'm not mistaken. OMG, I wasnt even born when this series (as well as the book) was aired. Even so, I SOOOO LOVE the story. It is without a doubt the best of the 80s miniseries...anyone can complain that it's lowbrow or trashy or campy--and it is--but it's also the most fun, the most genuinely interesting and engaging, with beautiful music, sets, the backdrop, and non-stop action. It's never dull and it's always fun. Yay!

I remember there was another reason the title of the series was "Lace" (apart the name of the magazine and the character of Jidy). I believe Lili heard something as a child, hidden behind the lace of a tablecloth. Is that rue?

No. The name LACE is acronym of Judy's Manhattan based PR-company. Local American Creative Enterprise, stupid enough. The magazine is called VERVE! in the books.

The pseudonym given to Judy was EMILY POST, not Lucinda Lace.
