I was very disapointed about these remakes. I was expecting 100% perfect arcade ports which Saturn got. Instead we got these crappy remakes. I played these few times and then forget whole collection. Far from orginal classics. Unfortunatelly.

Haven't played this but looks quite good. Basically retained the original graphics whilst moving to 3D.

Come on SEGA, you could have easily included the Arcade originals on the disc..

That would have made this one of the best games in my PS2 collection.

Why didnt they release Space Harrier, Super Hang On, Afterburner, Thunderblade and OutRun on one compilation CD for the Playstation back in the day? I would have bought it..

@DJDementEatsBabies They did release Space Harrier, Out Run, and Afterburner 2 on a compilation disc for the Saturn. You would have never seen it on the PS1 because Sega and Sony were still heavy rivals back then.

However if you have a computer you can easily get the MAME emulator and play all these games including Thunderblade and Galaxy Force 2. Warning, may find it disheartening when you find out that these games were built with flashy graphics to eat quarters and really were not that good

looks ok but most of these 2D games loose their magic in 3D. I bet a lot of people wondered how they were able to pull of the 3d effects back then and appreciate it, now it's just 3D..

I have Mame and play the originals frequently.I would recommend anyone do the same or get Yu Suzukis' gameworks for Dreamcast if you have one.Failing that get a Saturn and sega ages vol 1.

I paid $14.99 for my copy the day it came out, and to say the least, I want a few of those bucks back. Most of the games on the compilation appeared to have been quick-and-dirty ports of the "Sega Ages" games. They really should've included the original games on the DVD with the new versions (or JUST the original games, better yet.)

i simply dont agree with all the people who insist that this is a bad remake. i think its a lot of fun, has good music and fairly charming graphics. in all honesty, i like it better than the master system version

Yeah, all these hypocrites here should realise that the Sega Classics Collection isn't trying to push the graphical limits of the PS2, but rather inject a great big needle of fun happy nostalgia into all of us!

@sethshazam considering this is a port of a saturn remake that ewas released only in Japan I think the graphics don't matter.

I thought all the games on the disc were fun (I just wish they had put the afterburner II remake on there)

@BillyCauseyjr I think you're getting mixed up there mate. The Saturn version was a straight port of the (2D) original arcade version and it wasn't a japan only exclusive - I've got a UK version of the Sega Ages disc that contains Outrun, Afterburner II and Space Harrier.

This was a fair remake but I find the Arcade and Genesis version more fun. Also I find Outrun 2 quite fun as well but this remake is okay.

Because it's part of the Sega Classics Collection which even though has a good updated version of Outrun, most of the remakes suck. I even heard that the Golden Axe in this compilation's got poor hit detection.
