So beautiful - I was in awe of her beauty when I was a young teenager and as I had thick , red-auburn hair back then, I emulated her and wanted so much to be like her . She was a screen legend , a goddess, a " gutsy broad " - one of the greats and she is sorely missed .

Gene Arceri's beginning of the extensive research that went into this book. A journey that took him from Brooklyn to Atlanta, with stops everywhere, and in-between wanting face to face interviews, anywhere he could find some insight into this compelling personality. With help from Hayward's brother Walter.

My Mom's favorite actress next to Bette Davis! She always wanted to have her hair like Susan's back in 50's, she had the same thickness, her HS yearbook pic looks pretty darn close!! She was a wonderful actress & a fighter in her personal life. My Mom & thank you for this wonderful tribute to her!!

What a beauty this actress was. She and Ida Lupino have always been my idols. My favorite movie of hers was "Untamed" with Tyrone Power.
