is'nt it supprising what has happened to what is defined now as music? Real musicians don't seem to exist any more unless you listen to jazz. Pop music use to include include real musicians back in the day. Now what seems to dominate the air waves is techno bullshit, and digital sampling... Oh how I miss real music ! and MOST OF ALL ..REAL SINGERS..The now singers seem to want to over sing a song with too many riffs.
This real life beautiful woman who can really sing,is dressed in this video like a regular woman! Wow!!! I had forgotten about the days when an individual could just be themselves and still be taken seriously as a performer by the "machine"
Like Michael Jackson's Thriller, Basia might not have been able to top that magnificent first album. Listened to "Miles Away", or "How Dare You" lately?

@Celaniasdawn I understand what you're saying. Sadly, the music industry chooses who to make famous by their marketability "LOOKS" instead of actual talent.
Basia's vocals are fantastic in this song (as well as her other music). Like many comments posted here, I was fortunate to grow up with the 70's, 80's and early 90's music. Things have gone downhill since those times. Lady Gaga--eat your heart out! (yuk). My favorite song by Basia, so uplifting. The world needs more upbeat songs like "New Day for You."
@grayeyesnj that's so funny my dad and I love this song, now one else we know listen's to basia except us! This song is beautiful and always makes me happy.

One of the great musical thrills of my life was seeing Basia, looking exactly as she did when I fell in love with her voice while in High School, performing in Orlando a few years back and still absolutely nailing the sharp key change in "Time and Tide." This lady is in her fifties (UNBELIEVABLE) and sooooo still has it. She is also radiantly beautiful. If you get the chance, go see her. Like the Grand Canyon, she won't disappoint.
