Jack Skellington was based on Jack Pumpkinhead. Brian Henson, son to the man who created the Muppets, made Jack Pumpkinhead in RETURN TO OZ look exactly like he does in the original Oz books. Then Tim Burton, director of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, based Jack Skellington of of Jack Pumpkinhead. He even used the same first name!

Disney came out with a lot of rather non-child-friendly movies before the 90's. I just watched the original 1970's Freaky Friday, and it suprirsed me that the Mom (the daughter in the Mom's body) called her son a jackass! The context was humorous, but it still seemed like innapropriate language for a kids movie! There is also drug and alcohol reference in the movie. It's all in a humorous context, but still! It's a Disney movie for cryin' out loud!
