the only real question on iraq is: what now? will things be better or worse if we leave? what will be the consequences if we leave? what can be expected if we stay? i think we have some business there yet. it was a mistake to go in, but it will also be a mistake to leave the iraqis who have cooperated with us for the fanatics to torture and kill. the other fact is this: al-qaeda might not have been there when we went in, but they're there now. what do we do about that? just my thoughts.

Things would be worse for Iraq. What we need to do is declare war on radical Islam. They've already declared war on us. We need to mobilize for REAL war. Like WW2. Perle's assertion that "all the intelligence available to us suggested that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction" is an outright lie. Anybody who has looked at even a small portion of the intelligence available on the subject knows that it was conflicted and inconclusive. Believing Saddam may have been pursuing illegal weapons programs and knowing definitively that he possessed WMDs and intended to use them are two completely different things.
