Can anyone out there help me find a song....the lyrics go something like "I believe in a world where princes.....(??).....more than just the same (???).....even though the winds of change may (??)........" thought it might be Eder.....
This is the "gold standard" version of this song. I've heard wonderful versions by others but this still brings goosebumps to me. Linda's done fantastic performances of it elsewhere, but there's just something about THIS version. It's stunning...the phrasing, orchestration and especially her ending. I remember buying this CD in 1990 on a wintry day and just sitting in my car playing it over and over because I just couldn't get out of the car!
This remains the abosolute best cut of this song I've ever heard. No one I've ever played this for before could keep a dry eye. Everyone has felt this way at one point and Linda's power and interpretation is second to none. I still remember buying this CD 20 years ago and listening to this song in a snowy parking lot in Ohio..over and over.
this was my school's play and this girl i know played lucy and her voice sounded similar to Linda Eder!! and one of my best friends got the part of Emma <3 i love this song!!
I could still remember when I listened to this at a foreign airport, alone and sick and lost...
just then, sun rose up and shone through the grand glass window.
she sang, a new life.
I just teared up.

The one person who disliked this was obviously Edward Hyde.

No one could do this song as wonderfully as Linda!

On her album she holds that last note for about 25 seconds. What a voice.

I mean seriously! It's not fair that one person can be that talented! Notice how she resists going to her belt voice... gives me chills!
