right now, i dont care if she's one of the worst or best singers ever, all i know is that she was so pretty my god! what a doll, i have the hots for tebaldi
Yes and she was not american where women may act differently, especially young ladies now a days. Tebaldi was very sweet but not a push over she knew she brought a lot to the table.
That's right, in good, old-fashioned manners, which have sadly fallen out of favour in the "Bros-versus-'Ho's"-US, would dictate that women remain seated when me approach, and men rise when women enter the room.
I agree ..I believe the woman is not meant to get up from her chair to greet a gentleman.
She should remain seated and let him reach for her hand. That's how I've always done it ..I would seem to forward or agressive for the woman to stand and shake hands
Indeed, and from what I've heard Mme. Tebaldi was a kind, down to earth lady who treated everyone like they were her family. Here she would have been around 53 or 54.
@pearlmuth3 what do you mean, she was 44 years old in that clip so how old do you want her to look. Today the media continues to brainwash women into getting plastic sugery in their thirties and forties but it is not necessary. It is not even necessary in your fifties but the doctors have to make money.
Blinking-? Renata Tebaldi could be using contacts, this could irritate the eyes causing her to blink excessivly. RT has such a beautiful character and always inviting to her conversations. Thank you.
SHE IS AN OPERA STAR:)

Beautiful woman, stunning voice and incredibly charming- even with the idiosyncratic English- she's still adorable.

Renata Tebaldi was self-conscious of her English and often nervous before performance.

It's probably a nervous blink. I wonder if she did it on stage or not.

Oh, what a lovely treat. She is my absolute favorite. She lived in Milano until her death a few years ago.
Thanks so much for posting this.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
this here is my favourite soprano... ferocious, near-Nilssonian power, with the most beautiful Italian legato and passione. gotta love Tebaldi!
but she is a bit of a pompous ass... she doesn't even stand up for the gentleman. That felt quite awkward.

well the behaviour code says that a woman should never raise from her sitting to greet a man, but the other way around
