  • @1621FRED Yes, he did the instrumental version of this song. We spent years looking for a copy of this song but could never find it. We finally managed to get a copy of it by recording it off the local FM radio station that keeps playing it. We converted it to a computer file and play it often. It is a classic version of a treat song!

  • This song, along with many cuts from the same album, is as good as music gets. Search for Hush and Only for You. Beauty from start to finish.

  • Great piece of music I believe Billy Joel may have borrowed it for his piece "This Night"

  • No music videos before MTV??? how about A Hard Days Night !!

  • There are music video existing before MTV. Heaps.

  • @SlimeTron5000 Actually, this was early in the MTV era (MTV had debuted in the US in 1981). The real problem was there was a big shift in music tastes the year this came out in the US (1983), especially in New York with the debut of Z-100 (WHTZ-FM at 100.3) and the slow flip of WPLJ-FM (95.5) from Rock to Top 40 that left this song behind. Were it re-released now, it probably would be a much bigger hit than the #46 it peaked at in '83.

  • This is Sonata #8 in C Minor Opus 13 Pathyatetic the 2nd movement by Beethoven

  • interesting. did not expect some one here to say those big words. I like that. nice.

  • I have been searching for this song since 1986 after all my tapes were stolen. It just now occured to me that I should try youtube. I love this song and never saw the video until now. Thanks a lot.

  • I didn't know they did music videos prior to MTV...where in the world would this have aired .. its amazing!

  • Titre de légende, un must !

  • Goes without saying, of course, that it's lifted from Beethoven.

  • Nevertheless... would someone please tell me where I can find thid on iTubes? Pleeeaaassseee?

  • This song was stolen with our car. Sooooooo happy to refind it!!!

  • @Pajaguma cant be true.....the same with my audiotape!

  • So beautiful I could weep!

  • Amazing! Love it!

  • un classique de la musique moderne

  • I love this song! it's all good!

  • " "those treasured thoughts of you" "

  • It´s a wonderfull song.

    One of the best ever.

  • It's the old songs thats the best.Just can't beat them.

  • FABULOUS SONG!!

  • What rock will do to the classics. The Trans Siberian orchestra is great at this too!! Louise's and Charlie's CD "Midnight Blue is a classic in itself!!

  • Titre de légende, trés belle chanson et merci !!

  • I've always loved this song. I Loved it when Marilyn McCoo did it, i love this version and I would love to see how Tarja would conquer this song. Thanks for posting this. Great song.

  • A minha primeira namorada

  • This song is great. My Mom wanted me to play it when we spread her ashes on the mountain. We did. Wonderful song!!

  • Song was #1 the week I graduated from high school - in 1983!!! Wow, just hearing puts me back to that great time in my life! Sort of sad, too!

  • @TypesALot I'm guessing in the UK (the song in the US only peaked at #46 in the summer of 1983).

  • I love this song so much. It is hypnotic.

  • I LOVE this song

  • The melody is taken from one of Beethoven's piano concertos. Another popular song of the day, "Stay with me till the morning", borrowed the tune from the 2nd movements of a Mozart clarinet concerto.

  • If I'm not mistaken Dan Fogelberg borrowed the tune from Tchaikovsky's1812 Overture for his song "Another Auld Lang Syne." If you listen to it, it seems to be the same music without the cannons! lol

  • no it's not from Beethoven's piano concerto but from his piano sonata no.8 'pathetique'

  • Louise is my favorite female vocalist.

Has a beautiful song entitled "After the

Storm"...can't find it on You Tube.

Louise, don't get lazy on us, post it!!!

    Your friend from Chicago

  • OMG this song is from my childhood, my mom used to play the lp over and over!

  • she made a brilliant album singing to classic music. Can not find it and it's driving me nuts

  • I have this record she came to japan once

  • I've been thinking about this song for the last 10 years, the melody is amazing, their voices blend so beautifully, it touches my heart every time I hear it. Brings back so many memories, and I just found out my good friend past away, It's for you Rick, we will miss you always, you were one of the best ppl ever born, too bad you left us so prematurely. We love you. RIP

  • Peace be with you aneczka0322, the pain never leaves, it does soften a bit!!

  • Thank you very much.

  • Experience speaking, much!!! Live your life as though it will be over today - it may!

  • lindo muito romantico

  • One of best songs ever made

  • you my friend hit the nail on the head. an absolute perfect song from beginning to end

  • this song touches me so deeply have played it over many times..and today sent to a friend

who will feel the magic of this music.

  • I was 13 and I listened to the radio every night at 12am so I could hear this. Now I write trance music because of this. The guy's voice sent me to heaven . . . and her; I write music now because of you guys. Thanks!

  • Fun to see the videoclip I made so many years ago! We filmed this clip in Belgium during a one night session from sunset till sunrise. Hard work!

  • @SWAT2909 The sad thing is that it never got the recognition it really deserved.

Someone should look into getting this song re-released in the US. If it were, I suspect this would be a MUCH bigger hit now than the #46 it peaked at here in 1983.

  • one thing about singers. the have a signature sound. wich makes them unique. this womans voice is exelent.reminds me of gospel music in good taste

  • Sounds like a Beethoven piece...And I always thought the singer was Jennifer Rush...!

  • You're right: it was written to the music from the slow movement from Beethoven's "Pathetique" Sonata.

  • this song is a total dream - the drum and bass sounds are very haunting, as is the song. louise tucker is a fantastic singer and I maintain will be hard to beat - she is a legend.

  • she come to japan25years ago I listen to this song on the tv she and this song wewe so beautiful than you for positng

  • hi jaster40. I can almost guarantee you can download it via eMule or something, but if you have the record and you system has an audio out and your PC has a microphone in, audiograbber is free and will capture it for you. hope this helps.

  • Classic track, thanks for posting, never seen this vid before.

  • This is a perfect song and very inspirational.

  • Love this singer. Can't seem to find a CD for less than $40.00 that was looking at her website. I have the record and would love to get it transfer to CD. Any help?

  • This song was also recorded by Demis Roussoss but it was titled 'In my dreams' and with different lyrics.

  • I have been looking for this song for years and years. I remember hearing it (and taping it) from the radio when i was a young girl and have always remembered the words but never heard the song since. I'm sure the one i heard was just a male vocals though. I'm so pleased i have finally found it :)

  • I had the 45 rpm record but no longer have a turntable to play it on. It was always a favorite of mine and I played that 45 to death.

  • I love this song, but the video is so morbid....

  • Maggie Is in Her own league. Please dont Compare.

  • also same song as This Night by Billy Joel - both from Beethoven.

  • Hey, could you add "Graveyard Angel" from the same album?

  • Hey, don't you like "hush"?????

    Same Album!

I helped write that song with Charlie who rented an apartment from me (at the time). GREAT SONG! That's just me speaking and I'm obviously partial to that song. By the way, my wife love's "graveyard angel".

  • Hanyone ever heard an instrumental version of this? Used to get played on K-LITE, a defunct Seattle easy-listening station. Was extremely similar to these, closer to Michele Torr's French original if not identical - but the lyric lines were replaced by an extremely powerful trumpet or similar horn. Has anyone ever heard this...? I'm starting to think I'm nuts.

  • Yes, I remember the instrumental but can't find it on the internet...not willing to go to 10,000+ sites to find it. But you are not nuts.

  • There is an instrumental version of Midnight Blue on The Breeze radio (Internet radio from Indiana). It's by Nick Ingman. Maybe it is the one you're referring to.

  • Listen to the Michelle Torr version of this,I know its French, but what a strong precise voice, you will love it.

  • This Song goes under my skin

  • What a fantastic song, did Billy Joel record this?

  • He recorded "This Night" on his "Innocent Man" album in 1983. It is the same variation on Beethoven. That is why it is familiar.

  • Yes. Yes. Yes.

This is in my Top 10 80's songs.

Yet it is hard to find in searches.

Lou Gramm comes up all of the time- rubbish!

  • an unfinished song, such a shame

  • That took me straight back.

    Thanks so much for sharing.

  • what a fantastic song...

i loverd it in the 80s and i love it today :-)

thank you very much for posting!!!

  • andei muito tempo á procura desta musica...é espetacular, fez-me sonhar muito...

  • toujours au top cette musique surtout éclatez vous dessus comme je l'ai fais.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I've never looked for it before because of the memories. My dear mentor and friend, Curtis Mathes had just gotten killed in the "Cleveland" plane crash when this came out. I am able to listen now and think of him in peace. I miss his so much, RIP you crazy man. Thanks again.

  • Who sings the original version of this song?

    Does anyone know?

  • Dunno. But original music is Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata (2nd mvmt)

  • Actually , there is no original " pop " version of this. The music was written by Beethoven . It was one of his sonata's. This band just put words to it

  • @Peeves888 I think this technically is the original version of this song (as it was recorded in 1982), but as noted by others it actually was taken from Beethoven.

  • Hauting, creative, awsome.

  • Wow. Thanks so much for putting this song on. I have looked for this song for years.

  • Por fin lo encontre!!!

    Es una pieza maestra.

  • Wonderful!!!!!

  • Where did you find this video? The song was hard enough to find but the video of this song had to be almost impossible. Why was the video cut short? ...5* regardless.

  • Man I have looked for this video and/or this song for years... Thanks for sharing.

  • Spoke too soon, the extended version is up, I did not look far enough down. One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs of my life.

  • Wow this song yes is so haunting and captivating...I often got goose bumps all over my body when I heard it as a young girl , now 36 years young , it still has the same effect what a voice I love it.AAAA++++

  • I love the song--I wish thy would put the longer version back on you tube. But, good as is too.

  • All my childhood.

It reminds me of my father.

    from france, thanks a lot

  • I can't thank you enough for posting this. Fantastic.

  • Thank you forbringing this wonderful song back to me! Now I've got to find the sheet music.

  • Thank you for this video and music. I did not know anyone knew of this album. I have it in storage on LP but did not know if I would hear it again. The entire album is super.

  • I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU,MUZZ!!!!!

  • That's my brother's favorite song,he died in 1984,i miss you Raymond xoxoxxo

  • Is that a Casio or one of those big Yamahaw kid piano synths with drum beat? They used to demo those at the mall back in '82. I miss Orange Julius!

  • inderdaad erg jammer dat het maar een gedeelte is

het was in die tijd zo,n mooie Lp

  • ik had een paar weken geleden de volledige versie gevonden. Nu blijkt het verwijderd te zijn. Waarom? Ik had het graag terug gezien/gehoord. Het is een prachtig liedje.

  • What a pleasure to hear so many wonderful comments about this song I fell in love with back in the early 1980s. The album, with the same title, is full of beautiful songs, though this one is the best cut. Only for You--also beautiful. Her voice, as clear as Beethoven would have wanted had Pathetique contained lyrics.

  • Could someone post Tucker's song "Graveyard Angel"? If there is a video for that particular song I think the world deserves to see it. A MAJOR talent!

  • I agree. In 1986 I was in Venezuela. We went to a house on a mountaintop near Porta La Cruz at 3:00 a.m. to view Comet Kahootek (excuse the spelling). It was pitch black except for candles lining the pathway to the house and, from out of the darkness they had "Graveyard Angel" playing. Very eerie.....but kind of cool.

  • beautiful song

  • great song a suberb melody

  • for those who don't know the full version is on you tube type louise tucker then click on the 4 minute version not the 21/2 minute version probably my favorite song of all time

  • magical we need the full version.

  • excelente song... Now many years after hearing this song I´ve notice that the melody is BEETHOVEN´s Pathetique sonata 2º movement!!! It´s amazing what music can do through centuries!!!

  • If I remember correctly, she lost the rights to her music and only got them back a couple of years ago. You can buy here CD directly from her website. Its well worth the money. I have it on vinyl from many years ago

  • This is one great video and song...great voices...thanks for the post.

    Raymond U.S.A.

  • The most stunning song I have ever heard!!!!!!!!

  • I have this on CD as well as the instrumental version, by Caravelli.

  • This song is so beautiful.

It's haunting music and lyrics reaches deep into the soul.

  • Bonjour,

  • this is my first time seeing charlie skarbek..too bad he rarely shows on the video.but i feel he is very attractive and handsome..i just can't get rid of my eyes off him....i need a bf like him..from same sex love

    Love it!

  • In my school years I used to dance with this amaizing song, some songs can get to you. this is one i mean one of my other songs but guess what theres is this one song i Like alot.lol it is there.

one of the greatest song of my time 80's that is. but,

  • if anyvone whish to ave the full version please check the male singer !!!

  • ive been looking for this son for almost 15 years

    thanks ???? love it

  • Why Louise Tucker is not famous like Sarah Brightman is beyond my comprehension. I heard this song once in the middle of the night in the mid eighties and thank goodness for the internet, Iw as able to find it. It never left my heart.

  • It's because Brightman is married to Andrew Lloyd Weber that she gets so much exposure. Louise Tucker is at least as talented.

  • Brightman looks like one of those comedia del arte masks. Her mascara has a life of it's own.

    Louise is amazing.

  • Timing is everything, too. She was a few years ahead of her time. It wasn't just that Sarah was married to ALW, she also had the exposure from performing on stage. Louise's airplay was "niche" programming on "beautiful music" stations in the USA. She didn't have the "stage" so-to-speak that Sarah had. They are both unique talents, and it would be nice to hear them perform together.

  • @JBM425 Also, there was a big shift in music tastes in 1983 thanks particularly in New York to the debut of WHTZ-FM (Z100 at 100.3) and the slow flip of WPLJ-FM (at 95.5) from Rock to Top 40. This song got lost in the shuffle and didn't become a hit (peaking here at #46) because of that. It probably would be a much bigger hit in 2012-'13 if it were re-released as a single as opposed to when it originally came out.

  • So rare and wonderful! Thank you for posting this. I wish I could listen to the end.

  • we found it on limewre... type in Louise Tucker

  • if anyone has the full version let me know... I have it on vinyl but don't know how to transfer to you tube

  • I have it on CD-- is there a way I can get it to you or upload it?

  • What's the difference on the full version ?

  • Nice song, good performance.

  • why only part of the video

  • Now that's a voice. Wonderful piece of Beethoven's written some two hundred years ago or more.

  • Ive forgotten how beautiful this song was. Why dont we have good music anymore?

  • An atmospheric video to complement a glorious song - why this was never a hit in the UK will always be one of Life's Great Unsolved Mysteries...

  • @Whyskerz It was not a hit in the US either when it was released here in the summer of 1983 (peaking at #46 here). The problem to me were major changes in music tastes that were happening in '83 that would become far more noticeable a few years later.

  • does anyone out there have the FULL version of this great piece ????

  • I wish.I've been trying to find it too,in entirty. Try Limewire.sometimes a Radio station plays it.Keep a tape handy,if it comes on,ever.Tape it.that's what i do.thx.cheers!

  • thanx for your reply...

i have the full audio version...

i was hoping someone has the complete video...

  • I believe the album on CD is available through Louise Tucker's official website.

  • thx-u,so vry mch.Apprec. it,immensley.I didn't knw that,the website,& all.thx,again.Cheers!!God Bless.
