  • Bravo Bravo....outstanding.

  • EMT-1:A Beta steep approach, achieved using zero/negative propeller pitch, is certainly impressive, which is just what's needed for an airshow, but it turned into a spectacular but not particularly impressive landing! A real show stopper & a hard act to follow! I replayed my VCR recording of this several times back in 1984. An interesting fact emerged, which was the sudden burst of power that could be easily heard on the original sound track & which can just be heard here at 0:26.(cont at EMT-2)

  • EMT-2: It occurred just as the nose-down attitude changed immediately before the a/c hit the deck. The reduced nose-low attitude & positive pitch power application was what was needed to kill the massive rate of descent, but the pilot left it far too late! Now watch another screwed-up landing which also ends in a rather spectacular fashion. Click on the "EntertainMeThai" name below then on "Landing Accident-Rarely Seen Bouncing or Porpoising".

  • Well, at least he did do what he was trying to do (a short landing)

  • in New Zealand we'd just say ....Bugger

  • That's some strong airframe.

  • And the wheels still flies after the stop, Amazing!

  • what!

it was a very short landing.

  • WELL BILL fucked that one up!,..............

  • It did stop on a very short distance. opps i meant crash

  • Way to slow landing

  • He broke it. Better get the uhu out.

  • Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

  • @betulakevinii bullsh*t if you crash its never a good landing, its a landing but not a good one. And YOU may walk away but their might be other people that died....

  • @keffje007 It's an old saying among pilots, not meant to be taken seriously. There is an i in bullshit not a *.

  • @betulakevinii their is an old saying between humans. Dont be a smartass!

  • @keffje007 You forgot the * in smartass.

  • @betulakevinii wow your a funny guy. And you actually have my real name in your nickname..lol

  • I was At the Air Show for Hughes Aircraft Company Co. that did not make Airplanes)

Prop went through the display tents top windmilling and ended in the car park hurting several people. Russians also show their non-flying super helo at that show--lost a blade and was not able to demo.

  • talk about an oh shit moment...

  • Retarded Pilot

  • haha the plane bounced!

  • The first A300-600 is also seen at 0:26.

  • 0:02 The first Airbus A300-600 (F-WZLR)!

  • I talked to a young man who was there with his father (who was an engineer at General Dynamics) . He said the wind did a 180 which the pilot was unaware of. The pilot came close to pulling it off even with a tail wind. He further said that the crowd could see the windsock did a 180.

  • A bad day for buffalo

  • dick

  • BOTA FUCK

  • im impressed really short landing

  • I was 13 at the time and remember dad coming home very late that night, he'd been out with his crew on the airfield cleaning up the mess and repairing the arrestor cable so flying could resume the following day - the Buffalo landed on it and flattened it!. Still have some bits of the props somewhere, and a photo of the Escort estate that had a chunk of prop go right through the back of it!

  • Aircraft carrier landing.

  • Has any one ever thought preheats the pilot didn't get much say in this scenario . The last crash i saw at farnborough the pilot and a nav were killed and the two engines went into the crowd and killed know end of peaple ,that was in the fifties .

  • @Taildragger2411 "Know end of peaple" ??? - 3/10, see me.

  • 1)HATS OFF TO PILOT FOR THE DEMONSTRATION

    2) HE KNEW THE CONSEQUENCE ! THEN ALSO HE DEMONSTRATED !

3)WAS HE TRYIN TO SUICIDE ?

  • he didn't even try to flare. What was he thinking? he just drove the plane into the deck plain and simple. They should have torn up his ticket on the spot.

  • Next time ace, carry an extra 10 for the wife and kids.

  • What dumbass. Large aircraft like this is not meant for this type of maneuvers. Take the stupid risk and live with it.

  • Sadly, the captain of this aircraft died in the crash of another DeHavilland (Dash-7) along with another highly experienced test pilot about ten years ago. They were both in their 70s at the time of the crash.

  • @Dingeraye1 he is a not so bright pilot =/

  • Finally the plane is a nice plane to buy, because it crashed correctly at an airshow. This is what I would call a successful crash, nobody hurt! Nice aircraft!

  • well demonstated crash landing :)

  • glad he wasnt hurt and a very good show for the crowd but very expensive mistake.

  • Landing gear AWAY! Ok kids, remember where we parked.(Something tells me he ain't gettin his deposit back)

  • Every landing you can walk away from, is a good landing.

  • повезло!!!

  • A text book landing. Well done.

  • Yes,, a very short landing... but a shame about the runway being too high.

  • 'No one was hurt'? Not entirely accurate stuff there from Jonny English. There were 3 on board, all survived, but the passenger suffered ruptured internal organs and broken ribs. A US docurama states it was due to engine failure! Where does Media get off? Better off talking to a bloke in a bar.

  • AND no meals were served and the passengers were NOT given refunds..and had to walk to the airport!!! way to go Airbus!!!

  • id buy that plane its built ford tough...

  • if only john denver could have been the pilot!

  • Bang goes his no claims bonus!

  • If i was the pilot i would say "thats part of the show"

  • lol he said they must not fly out of the airfield but how come the red arrows flew over my house near bracknell

  • Just lost all lift at the critical moment .....

  • Any landing you can walk away from..........

  • Bill Loverseed was the Leader of the red arrows for a time.

  • woah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That is one tough aircraft, it took the hit really well.

  • i was there

  • @jeffbobmicrowave I wouldn't have thought so. It happened in 1984 and you're 20 ????

  • @eezy1972 sorry mistake i was there this year

  • @eezy1972 perhaps his daddy was and was carrying him around in his nuts some people just dream he might wake up one day so for now eezy let him sleep

  • Short landings like that could get expensive!

  • roflcopter 2.0

  • I wonder what it costs to do that at every airshow?

  • Plenty of fucking Stupid comments from plenty of fucking Stupid People... Fuck you :)

  • @kaesich0070 Fuck you, stupid as fuck. :D

  • The crowd got their moneys worth there...

  • I bet they did it intentionally. Like An-2 could do.

  • Anyone know why that happened? Pilot error?

  • ITS STILL GOOD BIT OF SPIT AND POLISH SHE,LL BUFF UP JUST NICE!!

  • oooooooooooh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • In Soviet Russia plane lands you.

  • Best landing ever!

  • a good landing is one you can walk away from :)

  • ur in the shit now mate lol

  • i might be going there this year :P

  • It`s a very strong plane, that was to be demonstrate! The guy did what he always does, dive to the Rwy, and do the rotating using reversed thrust- all hes got. Here in Farnborough he dived a little bit steeper. It almost worked. haha

  • i would say it's pretty strong airplane

  • lol check out 0.59-1.01... watch the right hand wind shield, left hand as you look at it! it winks at you lol!!!!!bahahahah brilliant!

  • lol they are so proud about their safety rules... a mistake can happen all the time... what if the control fails? then, rules dont help anymore

  • doink

  • Why is that there are so many idiots that make stupid childish posts having seen a video with a serious outcome?

  • So brilliant men like yourself would come along some day to point out how ridiculous they are....

  • lol, "There was no sign anything was wrong until he.." ..yeah, Until he pointed the nose at the ground! Human error, plain and simple.

  • least he found the runway unlike the american bomber that did a nice fly-by of blackbush the last airshow!

  • gol-damn Joe, it worked on paper, don't understand whut happened...?

  • "Hey Jim, here's a runway, lets land here !!!" lol

  • I think the pilot was extremely brave to demonstrate a real crash landing to the crowd.

  • @MrAverage888Wins and extremely generous. Airplanes are expensive.

  • @MrAverage888Wins :DDDDD

  • he fucked that up didnt he

  • I saw thius happen live, bits of proella flew over my head, didn't realise till we saw them collect the propella. Lucky nobody hurt in crowd or plane

  • Oh gawd, my typing and spelling is worse than normal today, LOL propeller of course

  • Lol good landing!! He walked away!

  • imagine the embaressement when he walks into the flight office

  • Just a prang.. a little light buffing & you'll hardly notice any damage! LOL

  • LMAO

  • They didn't remove the gust locks..oh dear!

  • BILL...You're fired!

  • No the fuselage is surely not completly intact!!

perhaps in the outside view from a few hundert meters; but if you check the correct size of each part you find out that theres nothing intact!!

The fuselage dimensions are a few hundert percent over their normal's! if you try to put there wings on this fuselage nothing would be come togehter!

    grüße aus Deutschland!

  • what's hundert?

  • hundred obv

  • hundert! i lubb(sic) it!

  • Note how the fuselage remains COMPLETELY INTACT, the wings detatching and taking all the shock.

Anyone know where I can find film of the Sikorsky S-67 (original Blackhawk) fatal cr. in 1974?? (just been reading the accident report on the AAIB website).

  • And I hope your family die in a house fire so you are left alone in this world with nobody.

  • Except 15 years in the Para's, a wife and 2 kids, a 5 bedroom house, 2 cars and a wonderful job.

I also served in the 1st gulf war and in bosnia, on the cyprus UN buffer zone and your experience is? Limited to what you play on your xbox.

Why don't you give me your address, so I can come and see if you will say all of that to my face?

  • Of course, I didn't actually mean it, I wanted to show you what it feels like to have a barrage of cruel things said at you for no reason, after all, pilots have to be extremely skilled to fly - I failed the pilots test, and that in itself means they should have more respect than what they get.

  • lol! Virtual handshake from me!

  • lol they look so bewildered when they get out of the plane XD

  • The approach went wrong early on. He completely misjudged the wind and ended up way too high to touch down on the threshold where he wanted to. He tried the de Havilland demonstrator pilots' trick of pulling the props into Beta range (disc or even reverse) to steepen the approach but that took impeccable timing to time it just right to get the energy back up in order to flare. This is an example of getting it badly wrong. Airspeed was far to low to flare so he hit the deck at full rate of decent

  • To me, this doesn't seem too bad... until, that is, I realise that the point where he touched down is pretty much level with where I was sitting this year!

  • waheeey i live in farnborough!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOO

  • where bouts?

  • north camp u?

  • near oak farm school

  • Lol! Personaly, i realy dont think that was a perfect approach, a tad too hard!

  • thats a bit stupid

  • dick

  • was any 1 there

  • not even in a simulator I fly so bad

  • Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing

  • Yeah, but if you blow the plane up then. . .

  • i love the commentary

  • Do you realize this is an major international airshow? At Farnborough companies purposely show off their aircraft so big businesses order them.

  • 1 word... TWAT!

  • and yet the airshow will be on this year as well and that was the last crash (so far) not too bad in comparison to alot of other places lol

  • ...well.....at least it demonstrated the short-landing capabilities of this aircraft. :-)

  • The strange thing is, that after a he sets in landing, no correction whatsover seems to have been made by the pilot.
