2004: Nader garners 0.38% of the vote

It's a shame that Nader didn't become a professor instead of a presidential candidate. If he had, George W Bush never would have become president, and our country would have been spared a lot of grief.
Nader supporters, we respect your disdain of the two-party system (and it's a disdain that I share), and Nader's a smart guy, but this election is just too important to make a protest vote. Please consider voting for Obama or McCain in 2008. Support 3rd parties on the state and local level.
... but i genuinely want ralph nader to be president. it's not a protest vote, it's a sincere attempt to get this man elected. it may be in vain, but voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil.
Yes! Discard the terms protest vote and third party candidate. Dems and Reps put deregulation into place leading to the current economic situation. Why would anyone upset with the fall of Wall Street vote Democrat or Republican?
I'm really sorry dude...I'm voting for Nader on principal. Democrats should understand that they are the "spoilers", You are all complicit in this farce when you waste an opportunity to do the right thing. Enjoy your scraps.

I've met Mr. Nader and he's a real gentleman. I respect him greatly. His intentions are good - his points are truly biting. While all this is good and in his favor, his objectives would cost American's more because he's not a small government kinda-guy. His plan would raise taxes and increase government. :-(
I received a tax refund this year due to the current administration's tax reduction policy and I make less than 50K a year - no uber rich my darlin'. No. There is no such thing as a wasted vote. Vote for what you believe in, not against what your afraid of(i.e. for Obama because your against McCain).
I won''t waste my vote on either one of the candidates. You're just voting against your own best interests and even if your candidate wins you still lose.
I sometimes wonder how the government manages all those mind-controlled robots who vote for Democrats. Is it something in the water? They sure are drinking the kool-aid.
The way to create jobs is to lower the work week to a 30 hour week at 40 hours pay , for all Federal employees. That would create 10 million jobs in one month.
With the stroke of a pen the President could create a 30 hour work week for all Federal employees. This would create 10 million new jobs. If the Fed gov set the example, then the state governments would follow suit. Hi tech companies like Microsoft & Toyota would follow suit. In one year we could turn the whole economy around.
I would vote for Nader/Gonzalez if he would come out for a 30 hour work week for all Federal employees. This is the key step to moving the whole nation towards full employment.
If Nader put Bush in office, then Perot surely put Clinton in office. WRONG! Candidates lose because they don't appeal to the voters who go elsewhere. Your crying only further supports a corrupt 3rd party system.

The reason other candidates like Obama, don't behave the way Nader wants them to (in other words, like Nader) is that he himself has proven in the last two elections that that kind of always angry, always critical, never positive about anything type of personality doesn't resonate with voters & results in something like 97.7% of the people not voting for you. Just as in a family dispute or a workplace debate, you're not going to get anyway just pointing out how stupid you think everyone is.
Ralph-- why don't you explain why you can't get 3% of voters to side with you in an election, but still insist that your way is the best way? Does Obama has enough time alloted to this issues. He definetely have plans for the things you told. Besides no other candidate have explained on these issues yet. Why only Barack should be responsible.
Well, he makes points for calling Barack on his shortcomings. Barack has the backing of a large percentage of Black Americans. Barack, however, seems to mostly speak to for middle-class. Let's face it, this means that Barack does not speak for the people that back him the most.
I like what Nader has to say in this video, but I do not believe that he has to run for the Presidency in order to make these points. Doesn't Nader have enough blood on his hands from the 2000 race?
Ralph Nader is totally right. He has a right to run and also has a right to question the other candidates.I do not blame them, hiding from naders question, because truth is power!
Nader makes these points all the time- he just doesn't get any air time unless he is running for President. Which is too bad because the man is a genius.
NADER EDXPLAINS MERICAN POLITICS 101 ! Check out the clip HIGHEST BIDDER right here on YOU TUBE ! "The corporate grip on opinion in the United States is one of the wonders of the Western world. No First World country has ever managed to eliminate so entirely from its media all objectivity - much less dissent. " - Gore Vidal
There where many other candidates in Florida that had enough votes to bridge the Bush to Gore gap. To blame Ralph is to blame a straw man. Two other point:
1. You have no idea what Gore really would have done in a post 9/11 world. It's beyond any of us to know.
2. Many people where turned off by the Democrats because of the Clinton/Lewinsky thing. I know many who thought that "dignity needed to be brought back to the white house".

Nader is pathetic. He hasn't convinced us that he can do anything or that he isn't responsible for the 2000 debacle yet. He's not going to do it before he dies. Just get over it man, you will always be hated by the rational thinkers in America.
More democrats voted for George W Bush in 2000 than the total amount of votes Nader got. If those democrats would have voted for Gore instead of Bush, Gore woulda won. Nader has nothing to do with it.
Rational thinkers believe its prudent to support candidates who are plutocratic, not democratic? Who are blatantly subservient to their corporate overlords, not the people?
Convinced "us"?! Who's "us"? If you want to count yourself among the ignorant, go right ahead! Meanwhile, shut up until you've seen 'An Unreasonable Man' and read a few of Nader's books.

Get over it Nader, You are going to die and be remembered for harming progressive change and causing the 2000 debacle. Your pathetic attempts to change your legacy now are just making it worse. We don't believe your ridiculous excuses about 2000.
Unconvincing. He makes alot of assumptions but doesn't make any progress in convincing me he's done sufficient research on this.
For example, there are plenty of reasons why Obama isn't championing single payer health insurance, chief of which is that the Republicans would never go for it. The assertion that the majority of the country wants it (and is willing to make the sacrifices needed for it) is erroneous.
Actually, majority is for a single payer, but most may not be familiar with what single payer stands for. You accuse others of not providing info, but where did you provide the information that it is false? When you do, maybe I will provide the polls that showed that the majority of people are for some type of government run or funded healthcare system.
Yeah... you all talk big about your admiration for Nader or at least about your frustration with the monopoly of the major parties that stagnates the U.S. but where were you at voting time?

I like what Nader has to say in this video, but I do not believe that he has to run for the Presidency in order to make these points. Doesn't Nader have enough blood on his hands from the 2000 race?

Ralph Nader is totally right. He has a right to run and also has a right to question the other candidates.I do not blame them, hiding from naders question, because truth is power!

Nader makes these points all the time- he just doesn't get any air time unless he is running for President. Which is too bad because the man is a genius.

At least he speaks the truth about Barack.

Since the two major parties keep spending money and time trying to keep Nader and the like off the ballot I would like to start an initiative.
A vote cast or written for a third party is a message to Democrats and Republicans for

Just get over it man, you will always be hated by the rational thinkers in America.
nadersucks 3 years ago

We don't believe your ridiculous excuses about 2000.
nadersucks 3 years ago
Unconvincing. He makes alot of assumptions but doesn't make any progress in convincing me he's done sufficient research on this.
For example, there are plenty of reasons why Obama isn't championing single payer health insurance, chief of which is that the Republicans would never go for it. The assertion that the majority of the country wants it (and is willing to make the sacrifices needed for it) is erroneous.
FalconX2000 3 years ago
@FalconX
Actually, majority is for a single payer, but most may not be familiar with what single payer stands for. You accuse others of not providing info, but where did you provide the information that it is false? When you do, maybe I will provide the polls that showed that the majority of people are for some type of government run or funded healthcare system.
