One of my all time favorite sad songs by one of my all time favorite country ladies!! Saw Connie in Kansas City, Mo., many years back now. She's an awesome lady and her voice is timeless!!! Love it!
Connie is my second favorite country singer, although Dolly ( who is my first ) had said once that: "the real women country singers are Linda Ronstadt, Connie Smith and Barbara Streizand and the rest of us are all pretending..."
Though I find Connies voice a bit too soft, her emotional voice matches well with the song. Alors je dirais bravo a Connie, toujours grande inspiration pour ceux qui aiment le country.
I've not heard this song from Connie before this, but she does a very nice job with it. This song will likely not become a favorite but I'll still enjoy her voice
this is a two sided comment isent it??, you can have as many Favorite's as you like , so your second part of your comment through me off, not that it matter,,, Mac
This is a new song for me From Miss Connie Smith. Does she sing a bad song? I think not. A class act all the way. Like fine wine, she gets better with age. I would drink her bath water!!
There was nothing Connie Smith could not sing and improve on. I love Martina McBride, Faith Hill, etc. But I can not see anyone ever topping Connie Smith. She just had something special.
yeah great to stumble on this not to mention so many other artists. Its not living under a rock like mac says- so much as having to go back and check all the great talent missed in a river of music history. So many singers, so little you tube time....
Wow! I'm a huge Connie Smith fan..but never heard her sing this one. THANKS for posting; very moving number - ESPECIALLY with timeline photo show. Nice done - very.
I simply love her.

The inflections and modulations of her voice mark her out as really special.
Just off to listen again!

I think one of the greatest female voices of all time in country music--much like that of Karen Carpenter--effortless and smooth.
