The entire universe exists within us.

And the Mystic Law of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo expresses the ultimate essence or truth of our lives.

Indeed, those who uphold the Mystic Law are the world's foremost philosophers".

(The mystic law is expressed by chanting NAM-MYOHO-RENGE-KYO daily)

  • Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.....forever!!!

  • i am suffering sever post - op pain from colon operation. last Thursday no meds provided any relief, my wife told me i was not calm. i thought that calmness should not matter, only the strength of the pain-killers. but when nothing worked i chanted Nam-myoho-renge-kyo many times. it worked that night, not before and not since, but it did work for me on that most distressing night. any number of possible explanations, .but I needed it and it worked when needed.- the world is complicated.

  • I follow my Buddhist beliefs as I see fit, SGI is good but i also silently meditate when I wish too, be happy and nice vid..

  • This Mantra doesn't work. Try Vedic Sanskrit Mantras instead.

  • @YogiBaba99 You say that chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo doesn't work. What proof of this do you have? It is a documented fact that over 12 million people all over the world chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. I seriously doubt that if it did not work that the number of people chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo would be so high. I myself chant this mantra and have been doing so for 19 years throughout which I've seen it work in my life and in the lives of those I've chanted for.

  • @TheStevenVega I have been chanting for over 27 years and you know sometimes what I know is no matter what or I have done within suppose to be right or wrong with this practice, I personally know that just chanting for doesn't always resolve or fix everything one is struggling with. Sometimes the greatest gift to just practice for one's self when there nothing else left and to just hang on and to not quit chanting.

  • @YogiBaba99 Hello YogiB99, this mantra does work for many SGI practitioners. Unfortunately, when people find something that works for them, they tend to negate that which is not their primary practice. It is great the Vedic Sanskrit Mantras work for you, just as is great the this Nicheren Lotus Sutra works for others. The path to enlightentment and acension remains the same. Condemnation, rejection and inflexibility is what creates that neverending hatred and warring. All the best to you.

  • Is this just a philosophy type thing? Or is this religious? Or spiritual? ....Because I'm Christian and my mom.... Is very close-minded. But I'm open to anything. I just don't want to chant anything around her.

  • @TheKimmieykimkim buddhism is a way of life and its a religion.also dont worry about ur mom being close minded if she TRUELY LOVES you then she will continue to love you even though u want to be buddhist, also if u are looking for a different faith then ur not really christian(DOGMA)i used to be a christian for 13 yrstill i went to war and seen the bible as it truelly is a worjk of a devil here look theses verse up,1 SAM 15:1-3,DUET 13:6-18,LEV 26:14,LEV 20:13,LEV 25:44-46,EX 21:20-21.EX 21:7.

  • Can someone explain what the fuck this shit is?

  • @irishsoccerguy It's the vocal beat for Xzibit's song Concentrate LOL

  • @irishsoccerguy yeah basically the lotus sutra ( one of the buddhist teachings ) says that anyone can gain enlightenment and change there karma by chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. This differers from other sutra's ( teachings that say ) you have to meditate/ live a life of austerity or join a preisthood ... furthermore you do not as in some orders have to be a male. .anyone can gain elightenment and EVERYONE has the spirit of the buddha (buddha nature ) inside them

  • @irishsoccerguy,

This shit is about you-the shithead. I said the word without malice here :-0. You can chant whatever words you want as long as your intention is for the well being of yourself and others hopefully. GOOD intention is the basic fundamental of leading a satisfying life here on earth. You can chant your "Manchester United", "Chelsea" whatever, chant with a single mind ( with your heart and mind), your good karma will bring your soccer team good fortune, or your life change.

  • Those are Tibetan monks. NMRK is Nichiren Japanese Buddhism

  • @takethecannolli28;

Those monks are the THERAVADANs, not the Tibetan. They do not chant those words about the Lotus...if you read the Sutra regarding this mystic law, there were >1000 Buddha's disciples left while Buddha explained about this wondrous Lotus Sutra. Do not differentiate, yes, but we are all human. Thus there are many ways to achieve Buddhahood, others NOT ready to accept it will take longer journey. It is O.K. also.

  • Comment removed

  • @DesertRealmDank - why not find some people near where ever you live and chant with them? That way you would really discover the power of it. I don't practice anywhere near as often as I should but recognise the power chanting brings.

  • Human revolution is the work of transforming our lives at the very core.

It involves identifying and challenging those things which inhibit the full expression of our positive potential and humanity.

A great human revolution in just a single individual will help achieve a change in the destiny of a nation,

and further, can even enable a change in the destiny of all humankind."

    (Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo)

  • I was born into a Muslim family, and being a Muslim is a part of who I am but I wholeheartedly accept and apply the Buddhist values in my life because Buddhism is not about disputing on whose God is better, but it's a way to be happy...simply put ;)

  • @idworkhard:

Buddhism has no god or gods - only logic, reason and wisdom.

Worshipping external, imaginary forces (such as Gods) is totally opposite to what Buddhism teaches, and Buddhism has absolutely no concept or acceptance of a god or god's.

There has never been any one person called 'Buddha' - The Buddha means enlightened one, and all who chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo are Buddha's.

  • What does chanting do for anything you can't do for yourself?

  • @mossandthesea you'll have to try it and see for yourself it really is quite a subjective experience.

  • Brilliant Video.

Why is there an ad for scientology on the top right of this page??

I read a scientology book once, it made me laugh so hard i thought my pants would never dry....

  • nice channel

  • Take refuge in the most sublime sutra of the Lotus blossom! Whether you are SGI, Nichiren Shu, or Nichiren Shoshu, I chant at your side. The Buddha Nature of all sentient beings is universal. To differentiate is to set aside yourself from the greater, universal sangha.

I bow deeply and with the greatest respect and reverence to your Buddha Nature!

  • @squareyellowpaper A true Buddhist.

  • @squareyellowpaper please...explain the difference between SGI, Nichiren Shu, or Nichiren Shoshu,? Thank you. I am new.

  • @squareyellowpaper Namaste!

  • May all sentient beings have happiness and the causes of happiness. May all sentient beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.

May all sentient beings have joy and the causes of joy. May all sentient beings remain in great equanimity, free from attachment and aversion!

  • Dear Friends, I found a link where you can download a really beautiful chant, more then 50 Minutes of Buddhist Monks chanting, for 0,99€. I tried it, its worth, Enjoy!

    Here the link:

  • I think this was well done. I have been practicing with the SGI for more than 28 years and times and organization has changed for the better. Correction we do not worship Pres Ikeda. He is merely a guide who follows the teaching of Nichiren Daishonin and helps us to understand and stand on our own two feet towards victory and growth. Buddhism has been around for eons and it grows when it is nurtured, like the bamboo tree.

  • Get the SGI out of your mind. The SGI basically drove me away from Buddhism. Though I know from my parents experience it used to be a very different organization, now it is basically Ikeda worship, with completely arbitrary rules about how to practice Buddhism. The one benefit i found was connecting with others, and there's nothing like chanting with 1000+ people. but any organized religion, in my opinion, is bound to crumble, and as soon as Ikeda goes (though I appreciate him), so will the SGI.

  • @skyhighkyguy : I have had a similar experience with SGI especially since they make it an obligation to worship their leaders. I´ve done my own investigation and found that I can practice Buddhism equally well on my own and without all the embellishments these power-crazy organizations impose on followers of Buddhism. In the Dhammapadda Shakyamuni said, ´If you find no one to support you on the Spiritual path, walk alone¨. I have been at peace since I have undertaken this journey alone.

  • @TheChaNar Then maybe you can help me! I have been into this Nichiren Buddhism but I cannot deny all the things the SGI has done or mr. Ikeda has said. Tell me, how can I practice this Buddhism without all the shit added by the SGI? Or is the religion unaffected; so not changed by the SGI?

  • @larbo1616 First off, you must keep in mind that one of the basic tenets of Buddha´s teachings, as summarized in the Lotus Sutra, is to discover the Buddha in yourself....this is what Shakyamuni is telling us through his experiences. There is the possibility to experience nirvana, without having to die, and live to teach others that this goal is possible. My life was enriched when I decided to seek out these truths for myself and not accept blindly what others try to tell me, including SGI.

  • @TheChaNar:

    Shakyamuni clearly stated this:

"Follow the law, not the man"

And the law is Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

Nichiren Daishonin says exactly the same.

Some people may worship Mr Ikeda, but the majority are not so foolish.

I am not a member, but the SGI have brought Buddhism to more than 300 countries, and no other organisation has ever done that.

Without the SGI, many of us would never have found Buddhism.

  • afiante enduia estaras eres mien tos camos qiero a todos eres puenos.

  • this is making me more positive. dont know why.

  • Whoever chants like me will have a great fortunate life just like me it will also give you great karma!!

  • Everybody who chants nam-myoho-renge-kyo will be victorious because you will allign with all the aspects of the universe, so that you can see your life's (your life is the cosmos) troubles for what they are and act upon them with, courage, compassion and wisdom.

  • I have started a blog about how I am applying Buddhist teachings (SGI) to change my life. I would love any support and encouragement from anyone, or if you just want to follow my blog. curethedolphins.livejournal(dot)com/

  • brilliant vid.

  • Nichiren Daishonin writes: "The sun, moon, and myriad stars are found in one's life'.

  • Wow. I've heard alot about Buddhism and the meditative well being it can produce.

This definitely confirms everything I have heard from people who are involved with Buddhism. This is my first real exposure to it and I really like it. I am going to look into this further. Question: Can a lifelong Catholic also practise Buddhism?

    Ickyrae/2010

  • @trickyricky597 Sure you can

  • @trickyricky597 Yes, you are finding you when practicing buddhism and it doesn't conflict with any other religion, it's about the power of you and your mind and what ever your believe may be, you have a self and a mind and you where given them for a reason, to find out what they are for and through only meditation can you even come close to achieving this, this was also jesus's teaching, that's why most Cristian monks do single pointed meditation, i hope you find this helpful

  • ... God FTW

  • to those who don t like the end of the song i ask:

is it the beat of the song that makes it spiritual or not?

i think it is what you make of it, the faith you put in the tune that makes it special

  • I think that they are talking about something that they doesn't know. If you want to know more about nam - myoho - renge - kyo search for Nitiren Daishonin's Buddhism, the philosophy makes more sense.

  • @noriko2131:

The name is actually : Nichiren Daishonin.

The Organisation to contact for information and local Buddhist meeting places in your country is called: Soka Gakkai International (S.G.I.).

    Peace.......

  • @throbule In fact the way that it's written doesnt matter, "t" and "ch" has de same pronunciation. And I am a part of this organization here in Brazil, where it's called BSGI - Brasil Soka Gakkai International.

  • @noriko2131:

Yes, but the letters "t" and "ch" do not have the same pronunciation in English.

Yours is the Portuguese spelling, and as you wrote your reply to the person in English, it would have been more correct to use the English spelling.

If you write in Portuguese, then no problem of course.

    Peace....

  • @throbule Oh, it's true, I haven't thought about it. Are you a part of SGI?

  • @noriko2131:

I'm happy you saw that point. And yes, I am a member of SGI too, and I've been practising for about 25 years.

How is Buddhism going in Brazil? Are you Japanese? Your name is.

Anyway, I hope you have a happy day.

    Peace....

  • @throbule Nice! You're a veteran. ^^ I was born into a buddhist family.

Here is everything nice! We just received Mr. Hiromassa Ikeda at our convention last month. Was simply an unforgettable event. And I'm brazilian, only my namis is japanese.

And in the USA? Are you danshibo?

  • @noriko2131:

Hi fortune baby - and congratulations!

I'm so happy your convention was good and it must have been great to meet Mr. Hiromassa Ikeda - such a blessing for your convention too.

I'm actually in UK, but I go to Africa often to support members there.

I'm not sure what 'Danshibo' is because we use very few Japansese terms now.

    Peace......

  • @throbule Wow! UK! Talking in that way you seem to be very important :P I apreciate people that travel and support other places, I would love to do that.

Young men are Danshibos. Here we use lots of japaneses terms, I thought you were also using.

  • @noriko2131:

I am simply a mens division leader with a special connection with, and a responsibility for West Africa - a place I love every much indeed.

Sensei said that Africa will become the most important continent for the spread of NMRK, and that those of us on the front line there, are in the vanguard of Kosen Rufu for the continent.

That makes me happy, but we also have problems, so we are working to prove the power through value creation among some of the worlds poorest peoples.

    Peace...

  • @noriko2131:

"Africa will be the continent of the 21st century.

The rise of African culture and people will eventually change the whole world.

The people who suffer the most earn the right to the biggest happiness, that is what our problems are for.

Those who connect with Africa, and who chant strongly, are the one's who will change Africa

The problems are huge, because by trying to make Africa happy, we have the biggest job in the world.

    Only NMRK can save Africa."

    (Daisaku Ikeda)

  • @throbule A simply man with a great mission. You fight is very commendable, for sure will have results at the same level. I am lucky to belong to a location with well-structured SGI, but you are more lucky to have the opportunity to help build the SGI in a place that definitely need Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

  • @noriko2131:

    It is an honour too.

My fight is only equal to yours because we both chant and are votaries of the Lotus Sutra.

You are much needed right where you are and I am needed where I am, and for that reason, we are both very fortunate I think.

Let us both keep working hard to support truth, logic and happiness for everyone in the world.

I send you best wishes for now and your future.

    Peace.....

    Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

  • @noriko2131 can you offer me a little guidance

  • @stevensonjames26 A guidance about what?

  • @noriko2131 on getting started with chanting & buddhism I have no buddhist centres & am trying to use the internet most places seem to want my money just some basic advice on yoga meditation & chanting would be useful just now or some links

  • the most important thing is to struggle on chanting at home, even withou a centre next to you. since you don't have any centre close, you should study buddhism, by reading books, specially president ikeda's ones, as well as the nichiren daishonin scriptures

  • @noriko2131 i would advice any one trying to practice Nichiren's Buddhism not to cloud your mind with any SGI or ikeda writings. Very miss leading

  • @benjaminlysohir But I just said to him to read Ikeda's writings because they are realy good at explaining of buddhism and also give a lot of excellents advices. My intention wasn't cloud anyone's mind.

  • @stevensonjames26 about yoga, it's a meditation based on another buddhist school. it focuses on breath control, as the original practicioners believed it was the way to achieve a condition of self development. but nichiren buddhism guides us to focus on chanting daimoku in order to achieve buddhahood.

it's the only school that states that we can achieve buddhahood in our present form, as described by shakyamuni during the lotus sutra

  • @throbule,

Only NMRK can save Africa." (Daisaku Ikeda). Oh..boy! Oh boy!

Propaganda is always against the GOOD intention of the founding father of the old monk Nichiren. It is a sad decline. PRIDE is always the wrong path to anything that human desire to go for betterment. :-(

This is not an attack on you or SGI. I read SGI interpretation of the Lotus Sutra. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I have always wanted to read that in English. Thanks to SGI for that!

  • @pribadi8406:

The people who suffer the most earn the right to the biggest happiness, that is what our problems are for.

  • @throbule my chronic illness effects my mobility, my rest, ect. the only time i have to chant is bedtime. it gives me good solid healthy sleep :)

  • @txmomoftwo1:

I sympathise with your serious condition, but it is so great that you are deriving benefit from your chanting.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you can also chant in the morning when you wake up - it would give you a good solid base for your day and help you in combatting your illness even more.

In Buddhism (like most of life) morning is a crucial time to connect your inner being with the Shotin Zenjin (powerful universal forces).

I wish you peace and happiness.

  • @throbule no, i appreciate anything that will help me. i had not thought of chanting in the morning, however, my day starts before everyone else's and so I realize I have more than enough time to do so. Again, I appreciate all education I can get. Thank you.

  • @txmomoftwo1:

I am here if you need any further info on Buddhist chanting, or info of Buddhists in your town, who I know will welcome you or meet with you whenever it is convenient.

My advice would be: Don't suffer alone - there are many of us here who may be able to support you, so don't hesitate.

Message me prvately of any of this is useful.

I will be chanting for you too from tomorrow.

    Stay cool and positive sister!

    Nam Myoho Renge Kyo!

    Mandrake

  • @throbule my husband is in this with me, but he knows about as much as i do, so its been a wonderful thing for us to share as a married couple. we are trying to teach our daughter, she is 17, but she seems to be non-receptive. all we can do is let her learn by our examples. I am reading and studying no less than an hour a day and meditating, i use bath time for that so i can get some quiet, and i am chanting daily. i did it this morning. I need prayer beads but no money for them right now.

  • @txmomoftwo1 - chant morning and night o find a specific doctor or treatment that will take care of your illness once and for all. If you are not chanting longer than 15 minutes, I suggest you do. : )

  • @KushaDwipa i now chant morning and night for a minimum of 20 minutes. my illness is an obstacle, a speed bump if you will, that i must overcome.

  • @txmomoftwo1 -just make sure ur focusing on chanting to find the proper doctor and treatment. I also some years ago an sickness that was only resolved when I starting focusing my chanting this way. A couple weeks later I found a doctor who knew what my problem was and resolved it.

  • @throbule The people who suffer did it to themselves, either in this life or the last, welcome to karma.

  • @PeterjohnsonLAWL:

You have a great gift for stating the obvious......

  • @throbule You dont have to suffer from your Karma, thats what chanting is about , to lesson the karmic

retribution. You can change your karma.

  • @Beatrice4664:

I am not suffering, and I did not say that people have to suffer.

What I mean is that people who suffer, have a right to happiness - and the people who suffer most, have the most right of all.

    There is a clear distinction.

And chanting is not just about lessening Karmic effects - it is also about gaining the wisdom to change our lives, in thought, words and actions, so that we do not continue to make negative causes which bring the suffering in the first place.

  • i I chant for your happiness.

  • I think the techno beat at the end doesn't really fit with the whole context, both on the musical aspect and on the spiritual aspect.

  • @TaoTeChing00

is it the beat of the music that makes it spiritual or not?

i think it s how we use it, the faith we place in a tune that makes it special

  • I don't mean to speak against anyone's preferences in music, but right around 3:10, it gets distracting.

  • I love the song, but i think the images are a bit out of context, Nam Myoho Rengue Kyo has it´s origin in China and Japan, even if the teachings comes originally from the India, I don´t think that the people of the video practice this teachings.

I just worrie about some classic topics about buddhism, and i´d like to add that the buddhism is for comon people, for everyone, and to study it means to study life itself in the widest sense, and it gets it´s full sense in daily, intim & touchable life.

  • Nam Myoho Renge Kyo

  • @schmendrik well that's just your opinion. I hope god blesses you too for your ignorance

  • Except for nam the words of this chant are mostly archaic Chinese. I have never heard anyone sy the Budhist chant is done by Budhist priests in India. So I'm not sure why all the focus on India.

Not that it matters though it still brings you what you want like an Aladdins lamp.

  • love it. whatever it is, love it!

  • go Youth Division!!! :D I am a youth myself a fortune baby

  • q bello es esto, lo canto con gozo.

  • Bellísimo video felicidades

  • I really like this version

  • god bless us. We are all children of one universe...

  • @jaysfo if you think someone needs to be blessed by god, you haven't understood a thing

  • god bless us all...We are all children of the one universe...

  • in una frase l'universo che ci accomuna tutti senza distinzioni!

  • Its so calming..... :)

  • This was a very beautiful tribute to the practice. Been chanting 23 years and l have to say l am shocked at some of the slanderous videos uploaded on YouTube, not to mention the gross inaccuracy of many comments.

  • I absolutely love this,, just love it,, its the first chant i feel comfortable doing

  • prrrr mi fece il culòòò

  • Namaste! the sounds resignate right through your whole being...LOVE LOVE LOVE will always reign...

  • Thanks you for this video, and the translations. Lovely!

  • It doesn't matter if you call it Buddha, Jesus, Krishna or Universe... I this it's the main idea of belief itself.

  • the chant originated in India..has been propogated over the last centuries due to Nichiren Daishonin...the true buddha from Japan...who lived in the 1200' s in japan. he was persecuted for teaching that this is the true law.

  • I have been chanting for 40 years ...it still works

  • @popcornrabbit07 This particular chant? what way does it still help after so long?

  • @popcornrabbit07 Please, can you tell me how to use it in a common day? How long? Thank U

  • @kuyen99:

Begin by doing the 100 days test.

1ST: Decide on how many minutes you want to chant each day.

2ND: Decide that you will chant for 100 days without a break.

3RD: During the 100 days you can chant for anything, but always chant for absolute proof that it works.

4TH: Chant equally for your own, and all other human beings happiness.

5TH: If you miss a day, you have to begin the 100 days again.

6TH: Something will occur within the 100 days that will amaze you.

  • @popcornrabbit07 how does it work?..someone told me to chant it 3-4 times a day but i didnt have the chance to ask what's the purpose of it...

  • @popcornrabbit07 concentrate BY XZIBIT :) LOL

  • Beautiful, simply beautiful...

thank you for sharing with us this beautiful and inspiring video!

  • -_-'' c nul

  • Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is a life altering and life changing chant....

    Surround yourself with positive energy

  • Love this. I've been doing Daimoku and Gongy for over 13 years now.

I am now an independent practitioner and no longer associate with the

SGI. But I implore everyone to chant. No matter where or how you learn.

Another GREAT, GREAT mantra is "Om Mani Padme Hum" (Hum is pronounced as Whom; as In to whom it may concern). Learn it. Live it. Love it. Read the book by Lama Govinda. called Foundations of Tibetan Mysticism. Huge, old book focusing only on that mantra.

  • @dnp562 what made u wanna stop practicing with the SGI?

  • We are all Buddha...people....

  • @chicagopizza76 We all have the POTENTIAL to be a buddha (awakened being). We all have inherent buddha nature. Not all people are there yet. For most it will take many, many incarnations.

  • @dnp562:

    Not quite true.

Nichiren Daishonin explicitly says that Buddhahood is dormant untill you begin chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo - and that the cause (chanting), gives rise simultaneously to the effect (Buddha nature).

For some people it may take a lifetime, but for most people I know, they are seeing and feeling it every day.

After 25 years of chanting, I too can honestly say the same.

This Mahayana (major) Buddhism - what you mention at the end is Hinayana (minor) Buddhism.

Also remember that N.D. was a monk and writing HIS interpretation of Shakyamuni's teachings as well as his own suffering and imprisonment.

Daimoku is great. It will always be with me.

But for me, the SGI is small potatos as well as the NSA.

It Is All Inside. I am the buddha. I am the divine spark.

I am the creator of my own existence.
