I have a new 250gb slim ps3 and it does the same sound. I don't know if it's normal but the last ps3 i had (60gb fat) made the same sound before it crashed..

there's Nothing wrong with the PS3. i have all three systems. 360,Wii and Ps3, and i love them. Dont worry man this noise is normal. i was worried to when i first heard the noise on my ps3.But its normal.
hey that s normal the louder that sound is depends on how much spece does the game takes up belive me thats normal. you should be worry if your ps3 doesnt make that noise.
Cool, thats very good news for me as i just got my old ps3 replaced becasue it broke (it didnt make that noise either) ut my new one does make that noise.
Plus i had a 40gb ps3 but sony gave me a 60gb ps3. Thanks sony ;P
