With an estimated 200 billion galaxies, and ours is 100,000 light years in diameter, it's hard for me to conceive the idea of a "personal god" who can listen to everyone's prayers and make judgements. If you study science, do you believe every thing thay they teach you, or do you take in the information that's most probable? Going solely on probabilities, if one believes that Jesus existed because the New Testament says so, one would have to believe that hell is a place of suffering because it is referenced explicitly - several times - in each of the four gospels - even more so that Jesus' words about charity.

The New Testament attributes to Jesus just about as many sayings about eternal punishment as there are about heaven. If you study science, do you believe every thing thay they teach you, or do you take in the information that's most probable? If a scientists made a claim that "It is a fact that the moon is black during the daytime", most likely you wouldn't believe it. Does that mean you should drop your entire belief in science? No.

@KaiReemZZ The denominations that don't believe that hell is a suffering place are few and small for a reason - the New Testament clearly has Jesus referring to hell as a place of suffering. Going solely on probabilities, if one believes that Jesus existed because the New Testament says so, one would have to believe that hell is a place of suffering because it is referenced explicitly - several times - in each of the four gospels - even more so that Jesus' words about charity.

Oh God, the same thing happened to me! I hated the first grade because of a Catholic nun, Sister Regina Marie. That bitch ruined my life! I still can remember all the hate and dishonesty that happened every day. Nobody would believe me when I told them how abusive she was because they were brainwashed and thought that nuns could do no wrong. Mental abuse is as bad, or worse than sexual abuse. The nuns were worse than the priests in my experience.

Most of the accusations are about past incidences, but current Vatican mandates require immediate criminal reporting and removal from ministry for priests accused of abuse.
