  • people need to start paying attention to what is going on. It takes a lot of guts to stand up for what is right and i commend these men for speaking up. The media likes to project all Iraq people as terrorists cause they are fighting against our soldiers but what would we be doing if some other country came into canada or the usa and decided they didnt like the way we were running things we would all be standing on our streets defending our rights with guns and trying to preserve our way of life

  • I wouldn't want this guy watching my back in combat.

  • russsvoboda

    Back to Russia !!!

  • russvoboda, was obviously an american soldier, adn has fought for this country. and you say "back to Russia".

    unprovoked disrespect

  • A liberating force did come to America to help us win our liberty and independence against our own kind(the British)... France.

  • But they didn't stay for 6 years!

  • Jason was a pretty good soldier, but seems to have gotten things mixed up in his head. The check point wasn't check point 11..... I have all my teeth.....I don't have a beard and many people trust me and haven't regreated it. Jason, I hope you get your stories straight.

  • was it slaughter house 5- like the Vonnengut book?

The mountain man thing was a joke, obviously, there are no beards in the military anymore. I interviewed Jason afterwards he is sincerely reaching out & struggling with his experiences. Remember the TV show or movie M.A.S.H. ? Medics typically have a different view of war because they are the ones patching people up. This was has 4 times the casualty rate due to advances so he has seen a lot. Were you w him at the incident he describes?

  • I was deployed with him...we neither were there at the time of the incident. But after that incident there were changes in our ROE by our comander. We no longer could return fire without his permission. The entire troop that he and I were members of were split away from our regiment and sent to Baghdad. While we were there we made a great example to the active army, that national guard train and train right. I am not ashamed of anyone that was with us or their actions. God Bless All

  • So perhaps the commander shared with Jason's impressions and changed the rules. That's is a good thing and this doesn't get covered either. You have my personal blessings that everyone return home physically & mentally in one piece. Also that the Iraqi's stop dying at the ate 4000-1 million as well. You didn't pick the mission, the president w a supine congress did. Your service is as honorable as your behavior is which appears to be very,

  • The check point he was refering to was check point 12. Some of his recolections must have been distorted with time. Everyday was a challenge, but still the toughest times were the day we left our families and the day we came home. Our days were very structured and EVERYONE was there to bring EVERYONE back home safe. I'm VERY proud to have served with Troop F and of the leadership that kept us supplied with what we needed to get the job done.

  • I am with you 100%- so is Jason. Please read the comments form him that I added in the text box.

  • jason failed to bring up the number of houses of Iraqi's that had things like "God bless American Soldiers", "God Bless America" spray painted on them. None of us took cameras during that time, to assure that people like Jason could come home to his freedom of speach. Yet the words comming from his mouth disapoint me and many others that were on his team that brought him home with the rest of us. I don't agree with what he says, but he's a big boy and has the right to speak his cluttered mind.

  • It's great that these guys have a forum to talk about this. It's healthier for them to be able to pass on the truth to the rest of us, than just go drown in a bottle and eat a bullet. The shame is on Bush, and Cheney and the rest of those liars. Welcome home Vets!

  • this is an important point, I interviewed a counsellor fm the Viet Nam era who made the same point. Check out the Lucey family story to see what happens when proper care is not administered.

  • I would like to welcome home all the vets and I hope that my brother does not suffer like this man. He was in Iraq for a year. To hell with republicans and may Bush and Cheney burn in hell.

  • Finally someone getting to it- Bush & Cheney are responsible. If you liked their show, wait till you see trigger happy McCain- Bush hid behind his dad's political skirt & Cheney invented new deferment techniques, McCain went to Nam w a vengeance, Deliriously he dreams of Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran & can't tell the insurgents fm Al Quesa w/out Lieberman around.

  • He figures- hell they are all Haji's anyway.

  • you are obviously one of those blame it on bush, liberals. i myself do not agree with the extent that we have fought this war but it is wrong for the whole democratic party to blame it on bush, we have a congress for a reason, which democrats hold the majority in.

also, about iran, they have a crazy leader, anti-American and if you disagree, you don't know anything about him. he is allowing terrorists into his country to shelter them from American forces in Afghanistan and iraq.
