I think that what the inventor was aiming for what something that could be supported between the legs -- nothing is new under the sun, but frankly I haven't seen a bowl like this. These are beautiful.

Thank you. We did not mean to imply that these are the first ever supported spindles. We know that supported spindles go back way far in history in several cultures.

We were aiming at something for a plane, train, car, bus. Yes - a support that works between your thighs so that you can spin in small area but still not bother anyone next to you.

I agree Susan. I've encountered only good will, great fiber, and obvious personal integrity in my dealings with your shop. One of these days I'll plunk cash down and buy one of these. I'm currently spinning 100% silk on a spindle. Spindles are perfect for this fiber.

I wouldn't call this a 'new' invention, that's an insult to the entire history of bowl supported spinning. A very lengthy history stretching back for more than three centuries.
