You are a very good cook. You are doing a very good job with your demonstrations. (These are also W.I. dishes). I was taught to actually season the peas first; I put the oil, peas and seasonings in the pot and cook them in a rich sauce, then add the rice, coconut and water. I guess the end result is the same. I am going check out more of your videos. I am going to cook some of these dishes for dinner tonight. I usually use the potato and chick peas. I will try the carrots.
@islandgirl3330 i think i might try it this way instead. i'm more familiar with this since this is pretty much exactly how haitians cook all variations of rice&beans... (diri kole).
Geez that looks amazing! I wish I was there to join you, but I will have to make it myself to see just how delicious it is! She is so funny, and I love how genuine and real she is......God bless u girl! Thank you for sharing, so us white girls can learn how to cook for our Jamaican husbands, much appreciated :-)
Please let me know what was the last seasoning you used for the Bok Choy. The container was emptied into the pan, that is the one that I am talking about. Thanks. I really like your site. I will be visiting and trying the recipes soon.
I love your tutorials! You explain everything well and most importantly you cook it right. My husband is Jamaican and I thought I would surprise him. My brown stew chicken came out amazing thanks to you. I'm making this tonight. Keep 'em coming!
Wow she seems to add sugar to EVERYTHING but other than that I love that she cooks a whole meal with sides. And it all looks YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luv the videos.
LAWD have mercy... I almost licked my computer screen! I need a smellavision and a tatastavision!!! BTW.. I have made your curry chicken several times and it is always delicious!!!! I plan to include the plantins next time with the bokchoy.
Man girl I hungry now! lol. I can totally see some diffrences & similiar qualities in Trini & Jamican cooking based on what I've seen you done so far & it's great. Can you bring some to me??? lol
@iriekitchen I've seen a few of your videos. You should try out to get your own show on a network. You have a great personality and would appeal to a mass audience.

Islandgirl: that's how I make my rice and peas. Fry peas first with spices until it gets crispy, then add some water/coconut milk, then add rice.
