  • I've always loved this record and have always considered it to be among Armstrong's very best; the flatted fifths and racing, ascending triplets, the parts of the vocal when he does it all on one note with just use of rhythm are all just so great.

    He truly was a genius; there was nothing like this before him and few since.

    The author of this blog is Ricky Riccardi, and he is the Project Archivist of the Louis Armstrong Archives at Queens College in New York. Some job, eh?
