My personal opinion is that Miss A is better. Secret isn't bad at all but I couldn't get over the fact that there were back up dancers. In a dance competition between idols I think it should only be the idols who are dancing but thats just my opinion.

It isn't part of the rules, they can do whatever they want to make their performance that way they want it to be. Flexibility? Who cares about it? It doesn't help you win. Think about it this way: If the performances were switched, I'm pretty sure Miss A could pull off what Secret did because all they had were back up dancers, props, elaborate outfits & one dance break by Hyosung. If Secret tried to do the "Fame" piece that Miss A did (that consisted of them just dancing in simple enough costumes, one prop and no back up dancers whatsoever), they wouldn't have danced it as well.

But hey, that's just my opinion.

Miss A's was better I think technicality speaking, but Secrets was more original.

Um in terms of performance secret was better, but that mainly because their music is better, secret's one of the most sexy girl groups and Hyosung is amazing and went all out. If you want to know who is the better dancers than its Miss A, their dance is more in sync and everybody had good parts, not just one girl like Hyosung doing all the amazing dancing and the others are like backups.

I don't really think it has to do with complex vs simple, its different dancing styles and personal preference (also biases tend to shift favour) Miss A's dance stuck out mostly because they really sold the sexy concept while SECRET were a little more fun in their approach, their costumes and the dance etc. You either like one or the other.
