But how can she predict the certain beats such as with the shoulder shimmy at 1:47? Thats quite impossible (I dance myself and I would love to hear the tricks! :)
tablas generally follow patterns. if you listen to a lot of music you begin to recognize certain drum patterns. and they usually repeat either two or four times before changing to a different rhythm. if you do something generic for the first repeat you can plan for the next three. You can tell at 2:01 she wasn't expecting the flow to change so suddenly.

Jamal is also good at giving musical clues for changes and to also watch the dancer to see when she wants to change and to end the solo.
@kattmat The easiest and most effective way to do an impro drum solo is to ask the drummer to do 4 4's. You can then do anything knowing that this is the pattern. A lot also accounts for the dancer and drummer looking at eachother so that the dancer and give signals when to do the rashe(tight shimmy) or too bring the solo to an end. Any good drummer should easily be able to follow the drummer and vice versa. Such accomplished artists such as georgie and Jamal know their rythyms.

The best way to do impro drum solo is to ask the drummer to things in 4 4's. Jamal is an amazing drummer and always does this if u ask him.
