You have a beautiful Boerboel. We have a male that we were lucky enough to get through Boerboel Rescue 6 years ago. He is now a wonderful part of our family and weighs in at about 150 lbs.
On paper we rescued him but we feel he is 100% a member of this family and can't imagine the house without him.
ever since i saw one at the vat clinic i WANT one!!!!!!! i'm still too young to own a dog but just for future reference where did you get him?!?!? hes BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
@MrKjones2008 i had a rott and he was so good, gentle and easy to train for such a big dog.he was my first dog as he was unwanted pet.i want a french mastiff nxt or boerboel but think they are 1 of the hardest n most stubbern dogs to train and have herd rumours of them ripping houses apart and just nt doing what they told.nt sure to get anouther rott.what would you change compared to training and looking after rott.any help would be ace as wana get as much info bout the breeds before i decide.
Absolutely beautiful dog. I love his size. I have a Boerboel as well, he doesn't come from stock this large though. Knut is gorgeous. This is truly an amazing breed!!
@stripes2155 hey buddie do you know any breeders who are crossing boerboel x presa canario i really wanted to get two boy pups an wanted one black an one brown i know that black ones are very rare but intrested in seeing if he keeps his mass when crossing with a presa but a presa isint to much smaller but have more prey drive an gameness to them im not a fan of dog fighting but id like a breed that can fully protect himself from an intruder or some other big dog that comes around our yard
@stripes2155 I love the storys of the boerboel killing a lion in a zoo that feeds stray dogs in africa an having many famous storys of him killing leopards an such while protecting farmers live stock same with the presa canarios being able to out class other dogs in fights such as tosas an pitbulls and take down huge burglars but im trying to find a mixture of both being they have the best attributes to protect my family im looking for two cross pups again id appreciate if you have any info thx
@bigwaverider1000 You know what? Basically any guard dog can handle himself when an intruder comes in the house. You don't need a 600 lb dog for protection. The reason that boerboels can protect people from lions isn't really because they are so big, its because they are fast too. If you want something to protect your house, try a doberman, bull mastiff, central asian shepherd, or even a GSD.
@equilshift first of all fuck you wake the fuck up no one was talking to you yeah the whole reason anything big is for comfinsating of smaller things im 5,11 an 240 pounds so i want a dog that resembles me you dumbass my neibors have dobermans an are pussies a german sheperd bit me long ago an didnt do any damage an let go an got a steel toe punt dont tell other people what they should get every ones entitled to what they want try telling that to there face id gladly kick the shit out of you
@equilshift yeah any dog! give me a fucking break 400 dogs out of 1000 +mix breeds in the world are under 40 pounds an your average burglar can just punt the shit out a that dog, if no ones home what the hell is barking gonna do nothing most neighbors never check on barks there was a news company that did a test on random houses with different breeds of dogs to see if house dogs do there jobs an 80 % let the criminal just waltz in an pet them an steal everything you dumb fuck
@bigwaverider1000 If, as I suspect, you want a big dog to make you feel like a big man, fuck off and save a dog's life by no buying one. You will get the dog put down when he inevitably attacks someone (very possibly your own family if you don't raise him correctly) or when he is too hard to train and you give up on him and he starts destroying your house every day when you go to work. Please, dogs are not objects like a burglar alarm. The skill of a guard dog is all about his training.
@equilshift lastly who the fuck you think your talking to you dont know shit you cant read my life history n dont know what ive owned so shut the hell up ive owned 4 pitbulls but they are not growing to the size of my first boy who reached 150 pounds of muscle so i want one that also can resemble his size an boer boels are elites in what they do an have great care for kids so i want one again dont be tellin people what to do one day some one will put a bullet in your face for insulting them
@bigwaverider1000 Yeah, you really showed me, huh? If you have a gun, why do you need a dog? Also, I said any guard dog, not any dog. How many of them weigh less than 40 lbs. Like I said, the Boerboel is good at protecting against lions because he has a mix of size and speed. But it only takes one swipe from a lion to crush his spine, so I would say the speed is more important than the size. And Pit bulls do not get to be 150 lbs. You are either lieing or mistaken.
@equilshift what does getting a dog have to do with a gun?an yes i didnt have papers but his parents one was a pitbull n the other was unknown looked like a mastiff breed im not sure so my boy was more of a bandogg than pitbull, im well aware of the story of a boer boel being one in a million an lions would just maul even any multiple dogs a neo an kangal are the only others of dogs ever to kill a lion with thousands of resources saying its true n again i know of all guard dogs but like the B.B
@bigwaverider1000 Boerboels as a breed are incredible with children, but that doesn't mean that every individual dog will be great babysitters. They will require an extremely high level of training, and most people can't give that to them, especially people who want them as status dogs like you. You want him cause you are afraid of burglars? Or maybe its because you want to feel like a big tough guy. You also seem to have some kind of misunderstanding about what a guard dog is.
@bigwaverider1000 A guard dog is a highly trained member of the family not just a dog that comes from some "guard dog breed." You don't put a boerboel in your house and just expect him to be a guard dog, they need years of training. So does any other kind of guard dog. Are you ready to put that kind of effort and money into them? If you aren't the dog will likely die, because he will bite someone from poor training, or they will kill him at the pound when you drop him off because you are tired.
@bigwaverider1000 People who buy dogs for the status are horrible pet owners. Their dogs tend to be very poorly trained, aggressive, poorly socialized and trouble makers. They tend to make stupid mistakes with their dogs like letting them wander outside in the yard without ensuring that it is escape proof. They tend to let their dog set the boundaries with them, and they tend to rely almost exclusively on negative reinforcement, exactly the type of training that can lead to an aggressive dog.
@equilshift i couldent care less of what the hell you do with dogs but im well educated an was raised with tons of dogs an have hundreds of family with different dogs breeds that are used in different purposes i went hunting with dogos an ive chilled with rotties an dobes my friends have all sizes of dogs , what did my account on youtube say i never saw a dog or anything making you give me this bullshit speech on your knowing of dogs tell it to some one else who cares you just waisted my time
@equilshift Again you say thats what the baseball bat is for give me a fuckin break ive dealt with punks an pussies by my self tons an tons of loud mouths n right now thats what your sounding like insulting my choosing of dogs an raising them when dogs have been around me since i was born n when you know nothing of me an how id take a bullet for my friends yeah thats right i dont even call them dogs they are my family an the way your talking you think im suppose to be discoraged or afraid LMFAO
@bigwaverider1000 We don't need a bunch of poorly trained dogs as big as boerboels making life difficult for responsible owners of large breeds. My boy is 100 lbs and scares the crap out of people when I walk him. If a burglar came in my place, he bark his ass off, but he probably wouldn't try to attack him. I've never asked him to. That's what the baseball bat under my bed is for, cause I'm a grown ass man, and I handle mine.
@bigwaverider1000 I don't ask my best friend to do it for me, and I don't have a lot of respect for people who do. Having a guard dog doesn't mean buying a dog who's breed is a "good guarding breed" and sticking him in your house and saying "OK boy get the bad guys". Thats a recipe for disaster. We already can't have Pits in the military in the US cause of people like you who buy them for status and ruin their reputation. It'd be a crime if you were to ruin boerboel's rep too.
@equilshift of course naturally i want to ask of the boer boels attributes but mainly i want a companion a friend another i can merge with my family an make him my family ,a succsesor to my old friend not just a mindless guard dog you idiot is that the only things you see in dogs? then your a loser an idiot who is adressing to a person whos been around dogs all my life i live in hawaii an all my boys are spoiled with living in the house but i train them myself with qualitie traning
@bigwaverider1000 Well, boerboels make great companions and friends. I hope you can understand that I'm just trying to look out for the dogs here, cause I see the dumbfucks in my neighborhood with their pits/american bulldogs/Dobies/whatev that are real poorly trained and try and come at my boy when I walk him. I'd kill the dog if it hurt my boy, but its not the dog's fault. So I see what bad owners can do to good dogs, and I don't want that to happen to any more dogs.
@bigwaverider1000 And I gotta admit, you sounded a lot like the dudes in my neighborhood when you were talking about how you thought it was cool that they kill lions. That shit set off alarm bells in my head. If you are just a fan who is impressed with them, and you want one, think hard about it and get one if you are sure. Maybe I misunderstood, but I'm a little sensitive about that cause I love dogs so much. Its a damn shame what some people do to their dogs.
@bigwaverider1000 Do us all a favor and just install a security alarm and buy a gun or baseball bat and chill the fuck out. But, if you are seriously ready to commit to years and 1000's of dollars of training, as well as boerboel proofing your house, ~1 hr of exercise per day, then yeah, by all means, get a boerboel, or a superfreak cross or whatever.
@bigwaverider1000 If you aren't, just understand that you are responsible for the animals life if you get him, and there is a special place in hell for people who betray their best friends. And poorly training a guard dog is a betrayal, because its the quickest way to ensure the dog dies too soon. Good luck man, I hope you figure everything out. Just think about this: the guy in the video, does it look like he lives in the city? Those dogs need a looooot of exercise.
@equilshift is this how you start a coversation with people who arnt asking for your opinion who think who ever you are talking to you assume that he has no knlowedge of dogs or met a dog in his life buddie you need some help talking to people who cared an loves dogs an telling them theres a certain place in hell for them lmfao theres a word for people like you its called hypocrites you dont wanna learn about dogs to benifit them or others you just want that felling of telling others what to do
@bigwaverider1000 believe me, I've been taking care of dogs since I was 5. I know all about them. I'll let you read my other post before I say anything more, cause I think this is mostly a misunderstanding. And the definition of hypocrite is someone who tells people to do one thing and then does the opposite, just fyi. I don't have a "status dog" so I think I'm good there.
@equilshift well you can see why i got mad being that everything you said was addressed to me individually saying people like me...,when my boys only get the best i love the overall of a boerboel an because he looked like my old man who passed away at 14 he was the most mellow person i ever new in my life an i feel somthing is missing now an the lion gesture i only found out recently an was only for fun for pitbulls i am not a fan of fighting dogs thats lower than low wanting to hurt your family
@bigwaverider1000 Its not even that their dogs come at mine, its the look on the guys faces when they do. Its like they want it to happen cause somehow if the dog is mean, then the guys are tough. And my boy is big, but he's kind of a puss, I don't think he'd know how to defend himself. Plus I think the other people in my neighborhood are scared of my dog cause they have lunged at and scared by those other dogs. But I live in Houston which is the dumbass dog owner capital of the world I think.
@bigwaverider1000 But I think anyone who knows what it means to have a dog be a part of the family isn't gonna be like that. I'm not a father, and my dad tells me you don't love anything like you love your kids, but I don't know, I pretty much feel like he is my son. I hope you find a best friend like your old one. We can never replace them when they go, but luckily, we don't have a limit on how many dogs we can love in our lives.
he is amazing. i have a male dogue de bordeaux who is 150lb and a little girl brindle boerboel who is only 3 and a half months and tiny! i doubt she will get anywhere near your males size!

Castle Inu, but they are gone now I think, parents from South Africa, Middlepos I belive. Avontuur Anton ,a reputable and physically astounding example of the breed was the Sire of the dog , Janus ,in the video.
@stripes2155 heiditheboerboel.webs(dot)com from Anton too. We are very pleased with her. Groot Geluk Czapei is her grandfather and Groot Geluk Freud her father. We have started a kennel, Nordbornas(dot)se. We have done seven health tests and will do three more before we decide if shes going to be part of the breeding programme. The three more tests is probably just a formality as the most importent are done. She has perfect health, and a very good temperament. Mats Sweden.
@stripes2155 Continuing. We will breed her with something very good directly from SA. Do you know anything about where we can find the best males in Europe we would be glad to hear. We know kennels of course but are grateful to receive information. Most of all we would like to breed with a working dog. "Paper breeding" is not a good thing in this breed, not in any working dog breed. Mats Sweden.
Have you had an x-ray done and graded for his hips and elbows?

Castle Inu, but they are gone now I think, parents from South Africa, Middlepos I belive. Avontuur Anton ,a reputable and physically astounding example of the breed was the Sire of the dog , Janus ,in the video.

@stripes2155 That is a very nice boerboel, so natural-looking. Boerboels are so solid and muscular. I plan to get one some time.
