Ite harrastanut Hapkidoa muutaman vuoden, en tosin tätä tyylisuuntaa, kiinnostais kovasti nähdä myös ottelusta kuvaa. Me ollaan moni aika ketteriä noissa kuvauksellisissa tilanteissa, mutta skaboissa me ollaan erimoisia. :)
@noppaa No jaa, eiköhän se semmoinen Rami (suurmestari) hoida asiat siten, että kaikilla on samanmoinen koulutus täällä? Ainakin poikani sai häneltä tänään ensimmäisen värivyön. Netistä voit sitten katsella (youtube) videoita missä Rami opettaa vähän muutakin kun karkuunlähtemista. Esim. hakusanat: hapkido rami portugal
Combat Hapkido is a very effective art. As an instructor in this art I came to realize that all martial arts are effective in the field. Every martial art is only a concept and gives you a base to start, however if you train in a static fashion, you probably will not be able to effectively defend yourself. Sport fighting can be used in street and since there are no rules, that athlete will put a hurting on someone. I have my students train safely at full speed once in a while. Trust me, it works
@Ozznize Would you have an non-experienced beginner train at full speed? Guaranteed to fail and have that person get hurt and there goes another student who will never come back to the Dojang because of a horrible instructor. This is when you would start them out with static training first then bring them up to speed. So it's not a waste of time. You have to learn how to walk before you run, correct?
I have enjoyed our conversation! The only thing I would like to say is give it a go, and I think (after reading your comments) that you would like Hapkido and it would tick a lot of boxes that you are looking for in a martial art! Goodluck with finding the right art (and yes Taekwondo is a beautiful art, go for it) And let me know if you do give Hapkido a go, what you thought of it. Take care mate, and all the best
I hear you about the competition thing, just wanted to ad, we do spar and when we fight, we fight to win! Alot of the situations are based on agressive suprise attacks. And I don't see the problem with practising situations (army do it)
There are Hapkido competitions (see youtube) but most of it is kicking (very simulare to Taekwondo) Hapkido, and especialy the combat Hapkido is not designed to score points but to make sure your attacker don't get up. Hapkido involse kicking, striking, locking techniques, weapons, groundwork, trowing techniques, breakfalling, enz. enz. check out some of the other youtube films? But I think I won't change your mind. Goodluck with your training
But don't you simulate to practise situations that may arrise? And not being funny but compition is not real fighting, because a real fight doesn't have rules. I would have thought that you would like Hapkido, cause both are korean and kicks are the same? Give it a go one day, you might be suprised. Are you training both arts at the same time? You must be a good kicker? Take care man, and go easy on other peoples arts
No, you wait for him to make the first move and then you finish the job. And I would like to know the art that you like or do that doesn't have your so called fancy tricks?
this system looks nice and versatile. The problem with self defense is that you always counterattack. I want to see a system tha teaches you to attack first. In a real fight or to defend someone, it´s the best option.
@budfr I thnk your looking for Krav Maga, which is very similar to CH. But you also have to look at the legal side of self defence, if you go to jail for striking a bad guy first and he walks then what is the point? Of couse if you are a female or in your home (depending on your countries rules of course) i am all for a pre attack.
The solid technique and dynamic training is great, I'd like to see these guys sparring with non-compliant partners, they would go well. Didn't like the pistol techniques at the end though, by deflecting the barrel up you guarantee the trigger being pulled while you are still in the firing line. First priority of firearms defence is to move out of the firing line. All else is very good.
Fucking hell man, there's Hapkido and there is Hapkido. For all people who don't believe it's effective (and believe me they exsist) I will show them this video. Very nice guys

@Earthquake1981 of course it works. not doing full speed training in my mind is a joke and a waste of time.

@Earthquake1981 im not saying that they should fight.no no no. im also not saying that beginners should start from a matrix-bullet-dodge-speed.

@Ozznize LOL. I agree with you there. That would be way to slow :)
