  • El mejor concierto de la historia Jarre.

  • Ah well he did learn off the best Mike Oldfield Ha

  • belíssimoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was there at this concert in 1986. I was 24 years old then. It remains one of the greatest events I have ever attended. I still get goosebumps listening to this even today :-)

  • This man is a genius.

  • Sensational

  • 3 000 000 peoples in this time 1986 in concert Houston. Very very big record.

  • I always wondered - is that lightning piano/synthesizer that JMJ is playing on an actual instrument or just a decoration and doesn't make any sound?

  • This was so epic the freeway closed from onlookers

  • It's impossible not to feel alive listening to this. I bow to this man.

  • super

  • nice to see the redknecks from the lone star state appreciate proper music i thought those guys only listened to two kinds of music country !! and western !! lol from your friends in england we love you really !!!

  • grande jean michel

  • it is still ranked in the top 5 of the worlds greatest ever concerts......and you can certainly see why...i was 20 at the time when we were on holiday in Houston with my family and we went to see this event...i think it's the first time i'd ever seen my mum cry,she was that overwhelmed.....i don't think i've ever seen as many people before in 1 place EVER!!!!!!!!...a trully amazing event....

  • I missed his latest gig in London thanks to my mom visiting, gutted. The worst thing is I've not been to any of these massive gigs of his, it's still one of the things I want to do, he's amazing and influenced my taste in music for years, there's no one better than him, a genius of his time. Miraculous

  • He is so brilliantly awesome... it's like "I'll put up a show that even I will be thrilled by it""... Like @Vennrgoor10 said, this is what a real musical artist is like... this is a real concert....

  • A kid in a candyshop, but a master in electronicsounds &lights!

  • This concert was the reason i got into lasershows.

  • Beautiful concert !

Thank you for your visit to my channel. ·٠•●♥Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ♥●•٠·

  • I can remember being about 13 watching this from the Sabine St. bridge, awesome!!! It was pretty mind blowing then, even now watching the 80's at it's best, it really was a once in a lifetime event.

  • A real and true artist. I would give a fortune for a time machine to go back to this day and place.

  • i was there ufffffffff

  • That's a hell of a stage....a whole city. :-)

  • After all these years and this song still sends shivers up my spine :-)

  • kinda dumb

  • an amazing artist

  • THIS TUNE IS AWSOME I LOVE IT ITS COOL

  • I am on a trip in Italy now... and we went to monace last night, and there we saw a metalthing in the water, and later some lound fucking music came... yeah he is going to have a concert on Friday, and I'll be there :) Yesterday I was about 5 meters from Jean :o

  • Music amazes human beings, makes them happy, brings them to tears and so so many other things, Monsieur Jarre created something really great then, without any modern computer technique we have nowadays I was eighteen then and i couldn't stop watching the VHScassette, so who the f.... cares if he played really live or playback, he amazed his audience, that's what counts!!

  • @superhep44 Exactly, no matter what anyone thinks about his music, he's a performer, his job is to entertain people. I'd call entertaining 1mil+ people at once a success.

  • Absolutely stunning!

  • If music events like this could stop all wars then this would be at the top of the tree. Pure adrenaline, pure euphoria, pure magic :-) Just amazing

  • I was 5 when my mother took me to see this. First live concert I ever attended. A moving and memorable experience, even for a kid my age.

  • @marcphilos If this was your first live concert ever, you really should find these nowadays kinda boring... this rose your standards up skyhigh...

  • lol He's like a kid.. Gotta love him :)

  • neveralways

  • Then: 1986: Goose bumps.

Now: 2011: STIL!! Goose bumps. :-)

  • wowwwww

  • I LOVE YOU !!

  • This song is part of m/professional history. Years ago (here in Brazil), when I used to work with only 16 colors, I created a presentation w/"IBM Sory Board". I didn"t about JMJ, but I heard this song and defenitely decided to create that slide show with his song as play back, using Story Bord small effect resources, and also the lights of the conference room to mach with the song.

  • It caused such an impact on my bosses, that I was promoted and had the chance to go to Boston to study Computer Graphics.Few months later I was already working with high resolution. I did not know I was as cracy as he. Today, loking at his happiness/crazyness while playing, I see myself years and years ago. HE IS FANTASTIC! THIS SONG IS SOMETHING OUT OF THIS WORLD! THANK YOU, JARRE!

  • There's only 3 masters in the world: Mozart, Chopin and Jean Michel.

  • Every time you see Jarre playing the circular light up keyboard the crowd are actually behind him and not in front of him. It was only at the end of the concert for Rendez-Vous 4 when the whole circular light up keyboard actually spun round on a spinning platform and then Jarre was facing the crowd

  • I am looking for the video more electrifying than this one and I cannot put my finger on it....

  • this guy sure knows how to play music best ever

  • Perfeito, fantástico, nobre, lindo, trans-cen-den-tal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He looks ecstatic..... Well who could blame him. One of the true pioneers of electronic music ( apart from kraftwerk) and large scale light shows = good guy

  • Is that a real instrument he's playing?

  • demais!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • feel it ..... 3:00

  • Jean-michel Jarre Are Super COOL!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would love to know the oppinion of Ray Manzareck about this Masterpiece

  • OMG, GREAT MEMORIES FROM THIS CONCERT!

I was only 9 when this was played in downtown Houston

  • jarre is a celstial being from another time and place,MUSIC IS THE RYTHEM OF LIFE.

  • This was back in the times when americans looked healthy. If you go there now you would see the difference. If they get any heavier they could cause earth crust displacement. The floor beneath them would just give way.Where did it all go wrong america?Great show though.

  • Han är bara för härlig!!

  • Yay, Jean Michel Jarre will come back to Denmark!

Hope it means a new album!

  • JARREz-vous !

  • ale naćpany.

  • Fabuleux !!!

Thank you for your visit to my channel. ♥·٠•●♥Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ♥●•٠·

  • Pamiętam jak byłam malutka tata mi to puszczał :)

  • maximum!!!!!

  • Epic. It get me astonished since I saw it on TV when I was a child. Jean Michel Jarre is fantastic!

  • Truly PHENOMENAL!!! It's still giving me goose bumps a quarter century later... wow

  • This is the electronic version of lip syncing! He does not actually play once in that whole performance!

  • I was sitting up on an I 45 exit ramp watching this. Spectacular!

  • lol...trash

I remember saw this on TV, live from eeuu huston, i believe.

  • One of his best pieces.

  • I still remember being by the Bayou for this event!, It was amazing!

  • Puta que pariuuuuuuuuuuuuu....essa música é demaisssssssssssssssssssss

  • Puta que pariuuuuuuuuuuuuu....essa música é demaisssssssssssssssssssss

  • The best of the best

  • can never get enough of this pure genius

  • Wish I was there...

  • I sat center stage with some fellow TAMUG Aggies! This man is a true composer, not just musician! You have to experience it live! They shut down Hwy 59 since everyone parked on it to watch the West Side light up!

  • ele é o mago

    muito doido

  • i was there when this was being played live! it was the most awesome concert i ever went to, and it was free!! ya had to be there to fully appreciate it. RW doesnt compare at all.

  • Jean is like little kid here ,very very excited to play :)) HE IS THE BEST.1986 this is insane!!!!

  • @19cohen Yes, it is especially visible from 5:05 to 5:15

  • I was standing right there watching this show... This video does nothing to capture the scale of this show. or was it the acid we took... Ha. Either way, it was unforgettable.

  • Why has Jarre never come to Brazil?

  • I was there, I was hanging out with my friends right on the "Pierce elevated (real close to the sign for I-45 Dallas"...We were having a party right there on the road. The police just gave up, people were drinking beer, getting high, just having a great time, with the most amazing of concerts going on right next to us. The video's are cool to have, but they just can't give you what it was like...maybe someone will digitize the old stuff and do it in Blu-Ray, but for now, I'll keep the memories.

  • @sjshaveltx we were very close to you. By the Bagby exit southbound.

  • I remember staying up late to watch this live broadcast and still have it on video. What a genious the man is!

  • THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST TUNES AROUND

  • musical genius!

  • Jean-Michelle Jarre doesn't create music - he creates an experience. He is, simply, awesome, in the literal sense of the word.

  • i actually think the music sucks ass, but great show, if not somewhat megalomaniac ....me thinks

  • Fantastic musik, fantastic show and amazing Jean

  • That is way far beyond awesome

  • Lets see todays Fartists attempt a life changing experience like this ...?

  • wow he should do london docklands again. ;)

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Now Lady GaGa and modern media bandwagon jumpers, this is actually what you call a musical artist.

  • I too was there, and there will never, ever, be anything like this again. Thank you Jean-Michel Jarre. Thank you Houston! And thanks for posting.

  • I was there, yeah!!!!!!!

    AWESOME!!!!!!

I'm 58, now and still love it. Loved every music he's made ever since that night.

    Thanks for posting

  • I like his facial expressions ! He's like a kid !

  • @simivalley1908

I think that is because he was truly having a great time :)

  • @simivalley1908 The funny things is that he was like 40 yrs old already :-)

  • chega a arrepiar

  • totally the best concert the world as ever known xsx

  • Oh....Master...my idol...

  • this song is awsome

  • My wife and I sat in the middle of I-45 overlooking downtown Houston for this show. The city had to close all the freeways cuz so many people were there for the light show. Lazer projections on the skyscrapers, fireworks, lights, music... Still one of the most memorable events of my life. Thanks, sheda42!

  • i can sum this up in one word ''AMAZING''

  • when c.ds first came out i bought equinoxe..the pure sound pumped up really loud was awesome.you heard stuff you never heard the first time you played it.that happened often which to me makes a complete composer of digital music..pure brill

  • SUPER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Epic... Just Epic.. !!!!!!!!!!

  • if it is breathtaking to watch this on a crappy computer screen, imagine what it must have been like to be there !

  • @alcamus1973 You are right, Rendezvous IV in Houston was almost indescribable. It was a great time to be alive, a great time to be young, and a great time to be in Houston, in my opinion one of the greatest cities in this country. I am thankful to have been there and experienced this. The whole concert is on VHS but they say they will not put it on DVD due to the poor quality. There also is an album/CD. Take care.

  • FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Total hyper, og manisk. <Men flot!!

  • 11 crazy people....whats not to like?

  • BUENISIMO!!!!

  • I have a video of the whole concert, not cd unfortunately, it's magic. In one part he plays a laser keyboard (he has to wear special gloves).

  • genial concierto

  • I was there in 1986, and I will probably never again witness anything this amazing! Thanks so much for posting.

  • bravissimo

  • Some of these comments about Rick Wakeman are really unfair. Rick Wakeman is one of the best keyboard players in the world. Jean Michel Jarre is one of the best innovators in regards to keyboard technology in the world (at least in the 70's he was). I love them both, even though their music is generally worlds apart.

  • @neil73 Agree with you 100% both deserve their hard earned respect, both extremely talented artists, I still enjoy equally their work.

  • @neil73 Why does it always have to be a pissing contest?

  • @RevelatorReplica I was just responding to the comments dude, Im not comparing anybody.

  • @neil73 i agree, rick is a master at his art as is jean.

  • @neil73 Totally agree with you just because you like one artist dont pull another one down. Wakeman was the best keyboard player in the world in the early 70's and was taken over by the technological brilliance of Jarre. I love both of their music for different reasons

  • what kind of instrument is this?

  • Jean Michel Jarre: GENIUS!

  • I was there! Amazing! :)

  • inesquecivel ! Maravilhoso !

  • A classic!

I read that Jarre would had done a concert in an Australian desert after the Egypt concert.

  • i watched this on tv when i was small the year it was done - the guys amazing and it was a great tribute to those who died in the shuttle =)

  • I saw this master of synths play i Sthlm. Damn awesome!

  • Magic!

  • humhihi i feel hony today anyone shares the same feeling as me

  • everyone was taller then because of the hair doos

  • I was there in Houston. He is cool but like a magic act in Vegas all show. Rick Wakeman would blow him off the stage

  • Rick who ? lol... Don't compare what's not comparable dude...

  • Rick Wakeman from the band Yes

  • Haha!!

  • You mean that old pisshead who is on grumpy old men, ha he cant even play the stylophone now.......

  • I love this guy i would think his concerts are amazing he would outsine anyone else in concert what a superstar

  • Magical...just magical !!!

  • buena music.

    I like much....

    woOOooUUUU...

    dtb jean

  • I was in the crowd that night, I hosted an all day party for my suburban friends, since I lived downtown, and traffic was impossible. I had met Jean Michelle Jarre in early January of 1986- he had come to Houston to teach astronaut Ronald McNair a saxophone piece. This was the be the first music played in outer space, by the first African American astronaut.

  • i saw this concert in 86 on tv.....loved it then love it now...

why has jarre never come to australia?

  • @roms303 Because Australia is a big fucking desert and sucks ass?

  • one of his greatest pieces EVER.

  • I was there in front of the stage for this monumental event for Houston. An outstanding FREE concert. The metal from the fireworks just rained down us during this finale! Plus the entire concert was simulcast on the radio, actually more music than was released on the album and the video.

    sorry no hablo inglesh..

    kamalulalele :-(

  • Fantastic Music, very very beautiful !!

  • Rendezvous IV

  • @Sapov Rendezvous IV

  • @sheda42 Thanks!!

RENDEZ VOUS 4!!!!!! Que no te enteras....
