Unfortunately Katie Price isn't a proper rider. Her horses are trained and excercised for her and then she rides them in competitions. She doesn't put all that much effort in and is quite an untidy rider. My views on her life and personality aren't involved in this comment, just facts.

I can’t say I agree with the predictable part, I’ve been around horses all my life, and you can read them to a certain extent, to which I agree with you, but it doesn’t take much for them to pull a stunt or shy away from you without much warning... :)
People are all ready to crit. her because they think that because she's famous she can't also ride. She's been riding since she was at least 15 (when she got her first horse) so it's not like she's 'only had a few lessons.' Yeah she may have bought pre trained horses but so do loads of people, and she doesn't look perfect but her horse is looking pretty good (some of which must be a result of her riding) and when watching hoys we expect perfection that a normal rider like her +you can't deliver.

Katie Price loves horse riding and thats why shes doing it, just because shes not the best rider doesnt mean she deserves all these nasty comments, everyone has room for improvment! And just because she's a glamour model doesn't mean she's giving the equine world a bad name, she's a good person and works hard, and its not all about looking pretty and having loads of money, she gets a lot of stick, so she should be allowed to enjoy her hobby without having people judge her all the time.

Yes she's got a good horse, but not every person can afford a horse like that. most people get their horse and WORK with their horse to get at an amazing level. They are not just handed a perfect schoolmaster. Yes she can ride, but no way in hell is she as good as quite a few riders.
Anyone who is a professonial or experienced rider knows that a) her horse is not working correctly and b) she is a novice rider. And that's fine - we all have to start somewhere. However, Katie makes a mockery of us all when she says she wants to ride in the Olympics. She should ctick to what she's good at - getting her tits out and that's it.
@ponybaloney01 She's not pursuing, it's called sitting on your arse and letting other people do the work, in this case of training her horse. She has not had to work hard to get to HOYS at all, it's the fact she is famous for nothing, and has stacks of money. She did not 'nail' anything, her horse is doing 95% of the work here. I know a GB dressage rider that has worked his whole life to get to where she is now, and still isn't considered as good as her. She's a lazy, fake woman.
i do like katie price (team andre wins though) but, before putting her at a big demo at hoys, really she should be spending her millions of ££ on more lessons to perfect her position, and bond with the horse! the other 2 riders in there were way better than her i was looking at them more than her!

i watched this video, because i was looking at breeding a horse by the stallion as her lovely beast there. I think I will defo try to, its an absolute gem to carry her round the arena like that. And big ups to Andrew! He's done a good job making her look even vaguely presentable.
nice, most of us riders work for years to qualify for HOYs, schooling the arses of our horses which we bought for nothing and working on our riding skills everyday, blood, sweat and tears, but not katie price, she buys a 10k horse sits pretty on it and has a free pass to ride at HOYS next to real dressage riders,

I think most people could do that if they were given a schoolmaster and trained by Andrew Gould! It's not as if she bought that horse for peanuts and trained it herself is it? And worked her way up from the very bottom like normal people! That horse was bred for the job and probably was worth £10k by the time it was 2! Most people can't afford horses with bloodlines and ability like that and most of the people on here would probably KILL to ride a top horse like that for 30 mins!
We should admire the riders who have nothing and yet can take a horse and train it, winning because of their partnership and skill, not because of how much money they have to buy a fancy horse and have fancy trainers. It's a disgrace.

Even at high level equestrian sports, the judges still interject some of their personality into giving scores. It's like figure skating, it's hard to judge 100% objectively. Viewers don't know what Price is really like, but we can comment on what we see.

a horse is actually very good and learning and predicting exercises done a lot and you will find many horses flying change on a figure of 8 even when not asked.
she is not a good rider. that is obvious. if you see some real riders you will realise how bad she is! she moves too much in the saddle and her hands are all over the place. the other two riders are much better and she doesn't even do a piaffe in this video
She, like evry other rider out there, has to deal with the nerves and anxiety that comes along with the compitition but on top of that has the press/paparazzi on her back to add to the pressure....and not to mention peoples attitude towards her given her lifestyle.
I reckon shes pretty brave and saying she "cheapens" everything just proves the theory that the equestrian world is full of snobs.
It's not about "guts" its about money. I would SO do this if I had a horse with paces and the money to enter competitions! Sorry it has to be said but dressage is already seen as an elitist sport as you can buy your way into it. You could be the most talented rider in the world, but without horsepower, you are nothing. She is doing nothing for the sport apart from confirming its elitist reputation! We should be finding less fortunate riders with determination and giving them the opportunity!

to be honest i personally think she is not the best of riders because of obvious reasons if you actually look at her riding not the horses performance you can ride all your life but if you havent had proper lessons from the beginning you can easily pick up bad habbits-which she has!but for the horse it is bloody amazing!it just shows that alot of time and effort put in to a horse really does make it come out top, even with a sh*t rider on board!but she lokked like she was having fun so go 4 it.

People are all ready to crit. her because they think that because she's famous she can't also ride. She's been riding since she was at least 15 (when she got her first horse) so it's not like she's 'only had a few lessons.' Yeah she may have bought pre trained horses but so do loads of people, and she doesn't look perfect but her horse is looking pretty good (some of which must be a result of her riding) and when watching hoys we expect perfection that a normal rider like her +you can't deliver.

Thing is.. people dis her because of what she is. Yes she mite be a bit of a slut, she might love the attention and lead a soap opera life, but at the end of the day she cares for her horses keeps them healthy .. and what genuine equestrian would put her down for that? How ever much you dis-approve of some1's personal life, especially 'celebrities' it doesn't reflect how they treat their animals. Ok, she mite not be the perfect rider, but who is? Give her a break, dont like it, dont watch it

Katie Price loves horse riding and thats why shes doing it, just because shes not the best rider doesnt mean she deserves all these nasty comments, everyone has room for improvment! And just because she's a glamour model doesn't mean she's giving the equine world a bad name, she's a good person and works hard, and its not all about looking pretty and having loads of money, she gets a lot of stick, so she should be allowed to enjoy her hobby without having people judge her all the time.

Yes she's got a good horse, but not every person can afford a horse like that. most people get their horse and WORK with their horse to get at an amazing level. They are not just handed a perfect schoolmaster. Yes she can ride, but no way in hell is she as good as quite a few riders.

Anyone who is a professonial or experienced rider knows that a) her horse is not working correctly and b) she is a novice rider. And that's fine - we all have to start somewhere. However, Katie makes a mockery of us all when she says she wants to ride in the Olympics. She should ctick to what she's good at - getting her tits out and that's it.

@ponybaloney01 She's not pursuing, it's called sitting on your arse and letting other people do the work, in this case of training her horse. She has not had to work hard to get to HOYS at all, it's the fact she is famous for nothing, and has stacks of money. She did not 'nail' anything, her horse is doing 95% of the work here. I know a GB dressage rider that has worked his whole life to get to where she is now, and still isn't considered as good as her. She's a lazy, fake woman.

i do like katie price (team andre wins though) but, before putting her at a big demo at hoys, really she should be spending her millions of ££ on more lessons to perfect her position, and bond with the horse! the other 2 riders in there were way better than her i was looking at them more than her!

I really don't know what you have against her? She hasnt really done anything wrong? And even if she had why would that effect how she rides? Can you do what she has just done? No probably not, Even if the horse is a schoolmaster you still need the guts and to know how to do it. She is a really good rider, and everyone has to start somewhere. There is no such thing as a bad rider, because you can always get better.

nice, most of us riders work for years to qualify for HOYs, schooling the arses of our horses which we bought for nothing and working on our riding skills everyday, blood, sweat and tears, but not katie price, she buys a 10k horse sits pretty on it and has a free pass to ride at HOYS next to real dressage riders,

have to say, after watching other katie price riding videos i'm actually quite impressed with this one :) yes that horse is probably worth a bomb and anyone could get on and make it look good, but she's the one lucky enough to ride it. Jealous much? :)
And in reference to her attire, i didn't even notice she wasn't wearing a shirt until i read the comments, but she's doing a musical demonstration, not competing - she can wear what she wants

Hmm.. oh where do I start! If she'd done it on her own, maybe it would have been alright, but in comparison, the other 2 guys outshone her. Couldn't keep her hands still at all... lovely horse though! And I agree with previous poster, keep it serious, its not a time for pigtails and glitter. She can ride, but not at HOY's standard. She's only there cos shes a celebrity, if she were competing like all the rest, it would be a different matter.

I know that if you've got the money, you've got the horses (horses that talented riders would do anything to ride). Fame brings publicity, a shame it isn't talent. But PLEASE If your going to do this, do it properly with dignity! Turn up in proper dress!! Not with hair in pigtails with sparkly pink glitter everywhere. This level is serious. Doing something in that style is a bad infuence. Bless her! Having professionals around her just amplified her amateur riding style.

well clearly she has to be to a certain degree. no horse just does flying changes and half passes as soon as you sit on it.
and yeah she does get advantages for having money and she is a very smart woman for taking them. in the horse world there are hunderds of people who just buy a fab horse and win everything. and if i had the money i know i would ;)
and so would alot of people who are slaggin her off.

I think most people could do that if they were given a schoolmaster and trained by Andrew Gould! It's not as if she bought that horse for peanuts and trained it herself is it? And worked her way up from the very bottom like normal people! That horse was bred for the job and probably was worth £10k by the time it was 2! Most people can't afford horses with bloodlines and ability like that and most of the people on here would probably KILL to ride a top horse like that for 30 mins!

@unicorndream Sure they can, because that's opinion as well, but that doesn't mean it'll be accurate or fair. Even at high level equestrian sports, the judges still interject some of their personality into giving scores. It's like figure skating, it's hard to judge 100% objectively. Viewers don't know what Price is really like, but we can comment on what we see.

a horse is actually very good and learning and predicting exercises done a lot and you will find many horses flying change on a figure of 8 even when not asked.
she is not a good rider. that is obvious. if you see some real riders you will realise how bad she is! she moves too much in the saddle and her hands are all over the place. the other two riders are much better and she doesn't even do a piaffe in this video

She, like evry other rider out there, has to deal with the nerves and anxiety that comes along with the compitition but on top of that has the press/paparazzi on her back to add to the pressure....and not to mention peoples attitude towards her given her lifestyle.

It's not about "guts" its about money. I would SO do this if I had a horse with paces and the money to enter competitions! Sorry it has to be said but dressage is already seen as an elitist sport as you can buy your way into it. You could be the most talented rider in the world, but without horsepower, you are nothing. She is doing nothing for the sport apart from confirming its elitist reputation! We should be finding less fortunate riders with determination and giving them the opportunity!

I bet the guys on the side of her are thinking "Ohhh my god, how embaressing" Real riders who work hard and have talent having to ride alongside someone who bought her way in. It took them years and years i bet....and took katie a few cheesy press shots and a cheque.

i have been competing for 9 years and i could just say i want to do dressage in the evening performance at HOYS they would be like errr no...
she cant ride, shes all over the place, shes making an absolute mockery out of people who spend hundreds of thousands of pounds trying to get to HOYS what with her stupid tacky equestrain range and dressage all over the country shes a disgrace to the dressage proffession.

i have been on showing producers yards, had lessons with lisa marriott (who rides for GB dressage team) and gone to HOYS and the RIHS..and seeing ms price twoddle round the NEC is the stupidest thing to have ever happened!
shes an absolute idiot..and ur all like so what shes got money just let her ride...errr HELLO... the only reason the chairman of horse of the year let her ride was because of good publicity..

atleast she does it beacuase she really enjoys the horses.. just like any other horse owner( like myslef) and she not all like " oh look at my princess pony" she's does it because she loves horses and she loves riding!!!!

she's not great but she obviously loves it, and she can afforrd a made horse so just let compete, if its what she wants to do she should be allowed like we are, even though we may not be brilliant. thats what i think

I honestly think she loves her horses, but i soehow doubt she knows how to look after them. Its hardly like shes gonna go down to the stables everyday to see her horses, groom it and muck it out. In fact i somehow dount shes got a clue. However go her for at least havinga go, but it still really pisses me off how she gtes to go to the big events when she really isnt taht good a rider tbh.

ppl give her flak jus bcoz shes a model shes just as hard working as any of us in fact she got her first horse star at 16 an ex racer she trained and payed for herself she wasnt famous at the time she been riding since 4ever and is as good as any of us stop bein jealous.....she rode brilliant there!

Well as someone who has groomed for the olympic dressage team i say good for her. Katie is doing a fantastic job in a very competitive field whilst managing to rise above all the flak people give her. Keep it going Katie xxx

i think it's sad how people will bash others for giving things a go. so what if shes not brilliant, she was good, and she did well. she's not a professional rider.

The horse is BLOODY AMAZING carrying that floppy tit around. i teach 6 year olds who can sit to a trot and canter better than that on crappy bumpy ponies!
I might personally protest if she is allowed to ride in the olympics.

to be honest i personally think she is not the best of riders because of obvious reasons if you actually look at her riding not the horses performance you can ride all your life but if you havent had proper lessons from the beginning you can easily pick up bad habbits-which she has!but for the horse it is bloody amazing!it just shows that alot of time and effort put in to a horse really does make it come out top, even with a sh*t rider on board!but she lokked like she was having fun so go 4 it.

who does she think she is that poor horse i was there n she was rubbish her horse had had enough on the saturdayn it kept playin about she milkin this fame thing for all its worth i like her n everything but she dont have a clue about horses if she was good she wouldnt have them other people riding with her thet rewenend it n when they sed in the ok mag expect glitter i put on more glitter in the evening preformances with my horse she does my head in !!!!!! arghghghg

I LOVE HER HORSE!!! is amazing...not only to cope with her...and the fame that comes with her...eg camera flashing etc... but it looks amazing...beautiful horse!
