Good reviews man. I watched them all and the only complaint I have is you left out storyline info. I wouldn't of minded since I'm not gonna take the time to find these lol. Anyway, Good reviews.
@1892Nick It's a long story. Basically, the development for the Playstation was "Playstation Experiemental," and was abbreviated "PSX" by the industry and journalists, and the abbreviation stuck, even when "Experimental" was dropped from the official name. To further confuse the situation, yes, Sony did release a machine called "PSX" in Japan. It was a PS2 with DVR capabilities.
I liked a few tracks from this game. The underwater level had a nice electronic tune on it. I also liked the jungle stage track, it had a strange carnival sound to it.
Sunsoft also made a "cute" metroidvania similar to BM called Hebereke, theres a FC and an SS release in Japanese and an edited pal version.
Sunsoft just recently come out of bankruptcy, and now they're releasing new games as well as games from other dead publishers.SS went bankrupt right after releasing this game in 2000.
Great Review. and you are totally right about this game its not without its flaws but they DEFINITELY dont ruin it and it is still Quite fun BTW Great NEws the original Blaster MAster was Released on teh VCon this week. Now if only they will release Blaster MAster 2 (i know its not nearly as good i have it on Emu)
correction to your review this game does have a targeting system of a sort its an autotrageting one similar to that of the original Doom basicly you point towards an enemy and if you are close enough on your aim it will automatically target it
H ave this i originally bought it with Ehrgeiz brand new from a Rental store for $4 each they had jsut gotten them and in and had never rented them out before they were ordered to sell off all their PS1 games then it and Ehrgeiz got stolen i repurchaced Blastermaster but i still need to get my ahnds on another copy of Ehrgeiz
Nice review of a game I have never heard of mate. the game kind of reminds me of the MegaMan Legends series.. Same sort of 3d mapping and game play. (with a tank and not a person!!) Thanks ;o)
For a Mac, you're going to pay about the same for either one, but it largely depends on where you buy from. I got my Elgato from Newegg for about 80 bucks.
I think they should at least try to go 3d, because there is potential for any game series to make a great 3d game from a 2d series (see: Zelda), but if it doesn't work (see: Sonic), go back to 2d.
agreed, not many games survive the transition to 3d, take castelvania on the N64 as an example, but some do manage to make a great game like super mario 64.
Any chance you'll do a review for Blaster Master Overdrive for the WiiWare?

I like your pacing of reviews. Dialog over gameplay then gameplay only then back to dialog over gameplay. Good job!

@phalnaxx Haha, well, the stories are nothing to write home about. They're practically non-existent. :)

why do people call the playstation the "psx" isn't the psx an actual different system in itself? Albeit a very bad one that didn't sell in Japan

A Wiiware Blaster Master would be awesome. The original was one of my favourite NES games.

That looks really fun! This footage reminds me of Mega Man Legends, except you're in a tank
