To me, I think he's talking about how people's bad habits continue to haunt them.. Like smoking, sex, drugs, alcohol, they try to overcome it but fall back on it "never did i wanna be here again, and i don't remember why i came".. and maybe the bad habit has a "voodoo" affect on the person, like it controls them and they revolve their life around it. I know that doesn't really go with the video, but just the song itself kinda sounds like thats what it means. To me.
