I don’t want to be too negative I am just being realistic; it is going to take much more than just the military to strike a deal with the Taliban because they can’t be defeated and they will always be in Afghanistan and the tribal areas of Pakistan long after the coalition forces have gone.

The BBC guy was trying to catch the Afghan as a male chauvinist about him not allowing his wife to drive but he said that since there are no rules of traffic it's very dangerous for women to drive. That makes sense I think.

At the end, the guy was saying that he is open to teaching women how to drive but that it's still very dangerous to drive in Afghanistan and that's why he doesn't want his wife on the street.
Here in the US, my wife is a very empowered woman and I wouldn't want her driving around Afghanistan either! lol
