Sony HDR-CX130E - camera test - low lux testing

I use premiere pro on a mac - and want to buy a camcorder that I know will import without losing quality. My last panasonic camcorder was only ok with PC. Any ideas?

do you use premier pro at all? i was wondering what presetting you choose, to get the images crystal clear?

@RockSmith92 No I don't use that. I usually use VideoPad Video Editor, but this particular video was actually uploaded to YouTube directly from the camera output.

@RichardB1983 Ahh fair play, its just that sometimes when importing footage, quality can be lost and i was wondering how to prevent it.

@RockSmith92 YouTube does do some resampling/processing of the videos we upload, but I think you can minimise losses by picking certain preferred file formats to save your videos in. When I'm editing together a video, I usually save it as an MP4 file. I tend to find that the quality of the video on my PC is not vastly different to what I get once I've uploaded. The file sizes aren't too bad as well, expecially compared to uncompressed AVI files for example.

They don't make cameras like they used to. They used to have real good low light sensitivity.

@RobCharles1981 Cheers Rob. Arrived yesterday, but I've not had a chance to test it out in daylight yet! I'm hopefully going to do a daylight shot tomorrow morning. Seems pretty good so far, but I'm still trying to find out the best settings etc.

@RichardB1983 Cool look forward to that, I have two cameras Sony HDR SR10E and DCR SR55E with the latter I'm trying to find the best setting for night shot mode.
