@nentendoboy12 The braid seems to be a lot thicker than the movies from the 90s-present. Looks like its always in the way when moving. If you watch Jet Li in the Once Upon A Time in China or Fong Sai Yuk series there doesn't look like its such a problem at all as its quite a bit thinner. Or maybe the more recent movies had the hair pinned to the actual clothing.
Yes these movies exaggerate speed and strength but at the end of the day. These movies are the ones that are responsible to have people go to martial art schools and learn the art.
hi all can anyone recommend good wizard kunfg fu type movie with ninjas or is that atall order used to love these as a kid on a saturday night. see really crummy ones like one arm kick boxer and true classics like lone wolf and cub
I've loved "The Pridogal Boxer" since I was in pre-school. Back when you could watch kung fu movies in the middle of the afternoon on broadcast (non-cable) TV. This is a totally different title from the one I'm used to, though. Nice to know that the VO's are still the same because there is a version where the voice overs are totally different... And shittier.

I like Bruce Lee but what most people dont know is he speed up the film to make his skill look faster than it was. And his kicks were not that fast at all. Now his hands were very fast. and his knowledge was good.
@ccrich100 actually they slow down the film so people can see the action, and being a martial artist i can tel you that thats true. like in the forbidden kingdom the scene with jet li vs jackie chan was slowed down as well as all of bruce lees movies
I've heard stories of Bruce Lee "shocking himself with electricity to stimulate his muscles before a fight to increase speed". And that his side kick would "send a man flying backwords 6 feet" People are over-rating him, which is unfortunate and angers me. He is one of my idol's of martial arts and a hero to me, but he should be realised for his actual physical limitations. He was the best in the world at his time in his weightclass, he won the tournaments in his weightclass, maybe the best ever
ive never heard of that with the electricity whered you hear this and he was the best and if he where alive today im sure someone might've defeated him in a tourament fight even then he was defeated chuck norris beat him in a tournament fight
im pretty sure he beat chuck norrs, not the other way around. And that shit with the electricity isnt true, i had a friend tell me that, im just showing how ridiculous things are said about bruce lee as he's almost mythical
yeah bruce won a championship title off of him then chuck won it bakc off bruce then bruce won it back someone with a great knowledge of bruce told me that and the electricity is a bit hard to believe mate
the kick thing is actually true, in one of his movies he got cut during a fight scene and accidently kicked with real force on the actor, breaking the actor;'s sternum and 2 extras' arms( from trying to brace). he was the best at his art at the time.
hwang jang lee is probably the best martial artist who appeared on films and is now a grandmaster of taekwondo and from interviews with other cast members from dvd's he could do things which would be to dangerous even for a stuntman to be hit by.
Bruce lee was good but is more popular cause he was aimed at the american market so he became world famous before the likes of sammo, jackie, jet li etc.
bruce was deffinetly most skilled in martial arts and he was the best but he was aimed at the american market doing international films and stuff like that now one of the best martial artists would have to be jet li
Jackie Chan is best. He's an actor, action choreographer, film director, producer, screen writer, martial artist, stunt performer and singer. All around champ, his movies are twice as entertaining as Chuck Norris movies and more action packed than Jet Lis'. Is true, read for yourself on Wikipedia, Jackie Chan.
hey man jackie chan is a great stunt man and comedian but one on one with jet li i don't think hed win id have to give it to jet li as jet li's won a crap load of competitions in martial arts and i rekon jet li's films are more action oacked did you ever see fearless mate that was non stop action
Yea but he does his own stunts which is hardcore tough and have you seen his technique? Him in his prime when he was younger vs. Jet Li in his prime young would be a nice match
lol maybe. My dad saw Bruce Lee back in the day when he was doing martial arts, he was very good, but my dad would have been able to take him :). Major weight class difference
what do you mean your dad couldve taken bruce where you kidding or what cause no normal man could take on the legend of martial arts regardless of size
I'm a provincial judo champion and my father was a canadian champion and olympian (heavyweight/lightheavy). You've been brainwashed my friend. You realise that Bruce Lee couldn't actually beat up a crowd of 30 men, thats just hollwood, right? He couldn't actually send someone flying 5 feet with a kick and a one inch punch can't knock someone out (it's against physics). He fought in world championships and won cuz he was best of his time... in his weightclass. Legend and reality differentiate
now m,an i don't want to get in an argument with you you bring up some good points now im not going to question your fighting as i haven't seen or heard of you perform or your dad but i can say this bruce lee was a beast he could do a great deal of damage and he had won a fair bit of compotitions and the one inch punch is effective just type it in ion youtube and you'll see what i mean watch some of the vids
and bruce couldsnatch something out of someones hand before they closed it standing like one metre away he had crazy speed and he was reall skinny which was kinda a disadvantage considering he only had like 2 percent body fat and bruce in my opinion could beat up a crowd of well maybe not 30 men but a few if they are not the best fighters (cause he's not superman)
he might be able to fight against 30 men, but I don't know if he could beat them. I've seen my dads friend, a karate instructor, not nearly a top karate practitioner in japan, but still a tough man, fight against 15 men when they left his restaurant without paying. But Bruce Lee would not be able to defend against 15 skilled martial artists, think of it logically, he is human too. The one inch works, but like I said, was EXTREMELY exagerated by the myths that surrounded his celestial status
yeah man he might not be able to take on 30 highly skilled martial artists but you have to understand that he was the best martialartist ever better thann any other fighter and yeah somethings are exagerated but he could do them just not as great as thed appear in his movies
in the beggining there was nothing and then chuck norris roundhouse kicked that nothing in the face and told it to get a job thats the story of the universe LOL!!
sucks ass?

Totally bogus .... many clips are slowed down to show his incredible speed. Investigate more and you'll see.

Most of these movies speeds up the film to give the appearance of speed. Humans are not that fast easily.
