Depending on how much you practice, how WELL you practice, studying music, not just tabs, your natural abilities and the gear you own. That's going to determine how long does it take YOU to be a good player. Can be 4 years, can be a decade, who knows.

Ya, you are right. Playing is a combination of talent and hard work. The less talent the more work. And if you have both enough you can be a good player within couple of years. As for me it was much much longer time. I am not a prodigy and I miss a time for real serious practicing donot live on making music.

I have Ibanez, Jackson and Caparison, which all should be the "fast-neck" guitars. I find Caparison to be the best choice for me. But it is very individual. I have smaller hands so I like it, but somebody could find the others better.

Thanks a lot, guys, for your fantastic comments.Caparison is the easiest guitar to play I ever had. It is perfectly adjusted from the factory already. However if you search for a typical sound of buckers or singles you would probably go for Gibson, PRS or Fender or other traditional pieces...

nice horus man, you should try the 3 hundred dollar h&k matrix cab, its sounds exactly like the switchblade one but 500 bucks cheaper. I run two with my switchblade head and love it. keep up the shred!
