This song is one of the few songs she's recorded that really spooks the fuck out of me. When it was released I was having serious weirdness in my head about aging and everything around me being a fucked up cartoon of evil - war breaking out everywhere, reality TV, CCTV sprouting out of the pavement... all the crap the books I loved as a child told me I should hate. It really felt like I'd been zapped into a Philip K Dick story. Then she released this and I realised she felt that way too...

Weathercade and Godzilla are incredibly fun. Budgie is a f-ing musical genius, and Siouxie is an icon for very good reason.

The Creatures was a side-project of Siouxsie & the Banshees, which started in 1981, based their sound more on percussion. When Siouxsie & the Banshees broke up in 1996 they turned a side project into a main band.
