  • Neil is wrong and Stephen is right. - what if the asteroid is too big too fast to deflect? Then some spit in a petrie dish at warp 2 might actually survive.

  • I usually like Neil but in this video he comes across as jaded and bitter. His comments are coming more from opinion than any sort of facts. This seems rather arrogant and out of character for him.

  • @raodus I completely disagree. I find him enthusiastic and playful, especially in this interview. And as always, whenever he gives an opinion (as almost all of the questions asked him to give) he offers multiple fact-based reasons for why he holds that view. He mixes the strict logical thought process of a scientist with an engaging delivery (and some child-like wonder).

  • Issac Newton's gravitational theory on attraction and repulsion of masses is wrong because in order for two distant masses to affect each other they must share a common medium. Planets are repelled by other planet's X-gravitational field component which establish their orbital corridors and impedes them from invading each others orbits. The force is cumulative with at a rate of .0735 pounds per sq. in. per linear mile. Gravity itself is a functional field that relates only to its mass of origin.

  • @jqs1943 This is wrong. Badly wrong. In every way. From Newton's gravitational theory of repulsion(!) to the common medium (space-time), to planetary X-gravity (now you're just making shit up) to the "functional field that relates only to its mass of origin" (Newton's gravity equation says otherwise). If you're going to peddle pseudo-scientific junk, do it on some New Age video. No one with any real science background is impressed.

  • @neestle How can any one with some common sence figure that the fabric of the universe is made up of TIME and SPACE when time is an imaginary field of reason that relates to motion and not to substance incapale of affecting matter? At least i've worked out the problem of repulsion and attraction mathematically and it makes sence to others that praise the idea. How in the hell can mass affect mass without a medium?

Sir Issac Newton's theory is wrong!!!

  • @neestle Why is the oxygen percentage level of earth's atmosphere being depleted? If you can't figure that one out and you want the answer, ask me... That's a problem that the GREAT physicists and scientist of the world haven't yet even detected.

We're wipping out humanity while thinking of colonizing other worlds and creating worthless theoretical crap that's only polluting humanities natural resources of reason. BE REAL AND GROW UP! THINK OF WHAT IT'LL TAKE TO COLONIZE OTHER WORLDS!!

  • @jqs1943 I think that's more than enough. Again, take the disjointed ramblings elsewhere. You are banned.

P.S. The oxygen thing? I don't care, and don't want to ask you. (Although I'm sure your Anti-oxygen particle emission equation is exquisitely rigorous.)

  • Newton invented calculus before he was twenty six? I used to be proud of the bong I made in Woodshop.

  • michio kaku have different opinion he is more optimistic about living on mars :( and earth is going to be killed by sun and im all for killing the planet earth so moving to another planet is the only way!

  • thanks for the awesome post and great pics.

  • Neil is the best. Great interview.

  • Then he turned 26!!!!!

  • I love his little scoff at 7:32 to 7:37 to that guys question!

  • Thank you

  • Thank you again. I've seen him on Nova.

  • Excellent interview. Thanks for posting.
