Shake it into the tops of your socks, around the ankles, and down in your underwear and the underwear waistband. Those are the places those little chigger mother'fr's really attack. Now the AFTER BITE remedy is to take CLEAR nail polish and apply it over the bite. When a chigger bites you the reason it itches so f''ing long is that the bug burrows under and stays in your skin. The nail polish suffocates the little bastard and he dies. Plus the nail polish will seal out infection.
Good video dude. I too have a Kelty RedCloud. Awesome. I bring a Beretta 9mm 17+1 clip.
Now here is THE SOLUTION for heavy chiggers in the Southeast USA... I took this along on a 21 day canoe trip through the Everglades and it was incredible: Take 1 part sulphur powder to 3 parts baby powder and shake it up mix it well inside the baby powder shaker bottle.
The sulphur powder stinks like eggs so the baby powder compensates for that.
Great video, I think it's good to remind yourself- although your gear may not be the top quality- it gets you out there in beautiful nature which doesnt care how much money you have- it's free for all :) I think you show a great example here that you can have basic stuff and have a great time. :) thanks 4 that.
I was going to tell you I have a Red Cloud 110 by Kelty and I like it. Cr0cert remanded it got my trip to the Canyons. Love the Kelty. I take two firearms personal protection. A S&W 40 mm and a Taurus PT 111 9 mm. They both serve my well on my job. Once again, have fun making memories
No can say anything the way you started out. I started with wal/mart, bass pro and sportmans warehouse. I still use a few wal Mart things. My saw is good and the best 9.98 stove still serve me well. Nutnfancy and cr0cert20 has helped me. I hear from both of them, excellent people. Happy camping and enjoy. Just making memories.
Well done, I love to see people that make the best with what they have and can afford, it's about getting out there and having fun. There is a ton of great stuff that can be had on the cheap, and great stuff you can make for even cheaper. I am really lucky, my mother works for Kelty so I get gear real cheap.
How did the trip go?
And don't ever ditch the gun, it's your life, not the people who leave comments.
@dukejuno o man your mom works for kelty?! awesome. teh trip was fun thanks. The best tent I've seen under $100 is the kelty zenith at target. it seems almost identical to the kelty gunnison 2.1. but yeah i agree with the gun thing i never leave it. hope to ahve some more vids this fall/winter
Not such a cheap kit although that F&S survival knife may not be the best. Lot's of kives for fun... that's good. Try the Schrade SCHF9 Exteme Survival knife... inexpensive but effective!
hey pretty good so far but if your short on cash, you should buy just a few nicer, better quality items instead of lost of cheap stuff. you dont need nearly that many knives maybe just one decent one. you can get lots of good gear from lots of places, but you you should look for sales and coupons. also try BIG 5. i dont know if you have them in florida but if so definatly check them out!
Nice vid.have you considered an alcohol stove, looks like itd save you alotta wieght and wouldnt cost you anything, made from a catfood can, cheaper fuel too.
@Gman7e Something else I'm trying now,if youre only eating those mt house and only boiling water,I'm taking a stainless steel water bottle. Can boil water in it,carry water, and drink from it...and not take a pot or mug.
@spoonerspooner but I would much rather just deter the bear than cause it harm or death...i'll prob bring both...the gun will be last resort or sudden attack..the spray will be my first option if possible
You did a really good job man. You're a natural. You seem like you know what you need. Just upgrade one item here and there and pretty soon you'll have a really great kit. WORD OF CAUTION: NUTNFANCY is very knowledgeable about alot of things but do not model your kit after him. His pack probably weighs 80 pounds. For a 3-5 day trip your pack should weigh now more than 30 pounds. Your knees, feet and back will thank you. Look up Ultralight Backpacking on YT.
@rowdybeaver33 thanks man...yeah he brings a lot of blades for testing most of the time and I've seen his 80 pound pack before, glad it's not me carrying that. He admits though he over packs due to testing gear most of the time. Also he is in the high mountains and has to deal with cold related gear and elevation. Just packed my new redwing 3100 and goin out saturday...with most of that gear packed and water I'm around 38-42 lbs so it should be good.
Hey man you do have some good stuff in there and you seem realistic. I have a vid you can check out too. But again pretty good stuff. I also agree bout the tent and sleeping bag.
@MrJankTv Thanks man I'll check out your vid. Yeah my stuff isn't too bad just kinda entry level. The tent and bag part can be pretty expensive so I'm saving up for those. Right now I'm just doing some 1 night 3-5 mile backpacking trips in FL so my gear should be adequate.
wal mart crap still works. And you are the 1st person ive seen to pack stuff for fun. its always mre's and tarps never fun stuff . thumbs up for that

man that would suck if you accidentally grabbed the bb gun instead of the real one. that would make for a funny story. if u lived I guess. LOL.
TheLeftylegend14 4 months ago
Shoot a bear with that gun and all you are going to do is piss it off and it will kill you. Bear spray would be a much more effective deterrent.
brennanfee73 5 months ago
@brennanfee73 Totally agree, most handguns (unless you get an amazing .01% shot) don't have stopping power where as spray works wonderfully.

@Gman7e Try the Ozark trail Jr tent for $19!!! I have used it for two years now and I do not regret it. SUPER light weight.
militaryman69 5 months ago
@militaryman69 It's funny you say that because that used to be my main tent ha! If you slept diagonally it was alright and fairly waterproof.
