  • This is great, what are the effects that you see after this teaching?? I hope after saying this when they go out to the big bad world and someone tells them they are bad if they dont do or look a certain way they may get disillusioned is there any other counter that your teaching them to those words?

  • @KarthikSoun thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. you make a great point. when teaching yoga to children, i talk about how yoga offers them "tools" for life, so when things feel difficult out in the world, or they are upset/sad/angry, they can use breathing/mantra/songs/favorite poses to feel more calm and happy. i've heard wonderful stories from young yogis (even from a 3-year-old who used her favorite butterfly pose/song to calm down at the doctor before her shots!)

  • @checkayoga Your doing a wonderful job,no where in India or the east is such work done anymore, its so important to keep kids from the negative programming that society does. We are taught from childhood that we are not good enough as we are or we r compared to other kids in class and told we should be like them and we end up wasting our life trying to catch up with the Joneses and disliking ourselves which causes all sorts of harm to society itself like greed. Keep up the good work.

  • @checkayoga However i am curious to know what happens when someone calls them hate full things like "your not as good as you think or your stupid" etc., How do they react after singing "i am beautiful" does it hurt their mental image you are creating? Do they get disappointed and shocked when ppl say "other wise"? Because u seem to be teaching them that they r good by themselves but what happens if they meat the critique or hater? please let me know.

  • This is great. Wonderful to see the boys enjoying it too!

  • @RoxNitro thank you - they were such a great group :). i agree about the boys - i hope that as yoga continues to gain popularity amongst kids, we will see more and more boys practicing throughout childhood and teen years...

  • yea for the children and yea for Checka--the bountiful blissful spirit is clearly here!
